Space 2335 Share Posted June 14, 2014 Please do the following. Removing the walls or leaving the gate open. Being less racist. Being less fabulous. Being less attractive. Removing narcissism from my personality.
Dohvi 622 Share Posted June 14, 2014 -snip- Stay tuned for 4.0 and I hope you'll be pleased. As the person in charge of the Elven build team, I can assure that we've been trying to set it up in a way that recognises the successful elements our current city, while doing so in a compact and well-planned manner. I haven't made any fancy dev progress posts yet, so I'll say here and now that the city is split into a common 'district' as well as Mali'aheral, Mali'ame and Mali'ker 'districts'. The different districts in 3.5 are very seperated because they were never planned for, however this time we'll all share a group area that we hope to focus our RP around. This shared area allows places like shops, plazas, gardens and the inn to be used as an accessable (and hopefully safe) area to RP with each other. While the 'districts' focus their land-use on housing so we each have a quiet place to retreat to when desired. All of these sub-racial areas are accessible from the common district, with a setup that allows them to choose for themselves whether or not to restrict access to their district. A Spooky Witch 156 Share Posted June 14, 2014 The Aheral are pretty much what they're said to be in the lore so I can't quite find much wrong with that. If everything is going to be more centralized for the elves in 4.0 then it shall have to wait until then! ((I need more elven RP on my characters, I've been spending much too much time with the Valah and Dwarven people!))

Geo 1415 Share Posted June 14, 2014 Firespirit hit the nail on the head. If the Mali'Aheral are going to be taking up the role of leading the 'elven nation' in 4.0, it is your duty to this server to have your doors open to newer players, not only to give them a place to roleplay but to help them -learn- Whilst I've seen this sort of thing being addressed recently, I know for a fact there are still a few people within the High Elf niche that can come accross as really rude to new players simply because High Elf roleplay has always been very secluded. If there is to be an all elven capital, new elven players MUST be able to feel welcome, and at home as they learn how to roleplay here and fit in.

Destroyer_Bravo 1054 Share Posted June 14, 2014 Honestly, it's kind of frustrating as a non-elven player to actually RP with the elves besides getting insulted, and it's not doing much to turn players to your side. Make a little guest room area or something, and dial down the racism to change with the times or something idc what you said to not say

Aedan The Bard 350 Share Posted June 14, 2014 What Firespirit said. The racism and elitism has become part of the high elves now, it's hard to accept that but it's the current reality. However, I would be happy if it's kept to the high elves who want to be like that, and not enforced on all of them like it's part of their genes. I've seen it's being enforced on other elves, too, reaching the point where a wood elf refused to talk to my Adunian character because of his bloodline. Personally, I just feel it should be enforced as ideals, because some, if not all, new players are treating it like a genetic trait that is there just because they're high elves. Don't do propaganda of it to other races, just keep it you yourselves and I'm sure people will be less mad. Other than that, I love the fanciness. Birdwhisperer 1174 Share Posted June 14, 2014 I myself am quite happy with the current setup, save for my one concern that others have voiced, and that's the turning away of other races. Not letting non-elves live with us makes good RP sense, and most of the time I don't mind it, but there will occasionally come along a good RPer playing a human, or Adunian, or half-elf, who I would really like to keep around and RP with on a consistent basis, but there's no where to put them. I know we'll be having a communal district, but will it allow for housing for a few non-elven guests? Or perhaps we could build a fourth district after we arrive in 4.0 as a place to put all the non-elves who don't seem to fit in with their own racial groups.
