Abandoned Land And Snow Things

To the Imperial Keep a letter is sent. The text is hastily written almost as if the Sohaer wished to be rid of the matter as quickly as possible.

kaean'leh evareh, valah,

The mali'aheral of Haelun'or seek to reclaim this land from one of your abandoned village so that the elves of snow may be housed. The Silver Enclave seeks to know if the Imperium objects to such a request.

A letter returns,

"The line drawn in the middle of those two spaces is the separation, as you well know.  To the left, I believe is Huntshill, to the right is Fanghorn, and you have my response on that.  One wonders with all the letters you write and posters you put up if you have any time for reading.  For if you had read the previous response you would already know the answer.  You may not take my land.

In the interest of common sense, let me ask you this.  If I should put up a poster hidden in your blue city and you not respond, can I claim your walls and citizens as my own?  Think upon that, and I think we will understand each other.

If you truly sought a resolution to your problem of housing, one might think you would read my last response more closely and realize that nothing in life is free.

Also, as a matter of correction, the village is not abandoned as the elfs I have seen often walking through it should have probably told you.

And lastly, should you read the last letter and go through the effort it requires, know that your effort would be in vain if you want to use this land for Snow elfs.  Their leader, this Prince Tundrak, has offended my honor one too many times, and none of his people shall find any rest other than the cold chill of death on any lands I control now, or shall every control.

Good day sir,

Baron Frost"

"Is someone living in that land Baron Frost, last I checked I had ya'll move closer to Kaldonia.", remarks Theodosius Visconti as he interchangeably reads through various letters.

Theodosius,

This land has around 300 citizens.

Uradir,

The land you circled is half Huntshill, half Fanghorn.  We humans have a concept called land ownership.  If you wish to purchase the aforementioned land the nobles you would need permission from are as such...

Theodosius Visconti (as the Steward)

Prince Chivay (as a vassal lord - over House of Frost)

Count Stafyr (as a vassal lord over the Barony/County of Huntshill and House of Frost) - May or

may not be interested in giving you part of Huntshill.  You would need to ask him for what

compensation he would desire if he is even interested.

Baron Frost (as the controlling lord of the Barony of Fanghorn) - I will require compensation if I

even choose to allow it as this land was solely fought for, developed, and planted by myself

        and my citizens.

I will not "give you this land" simply because you need it and we are not using it.  Please re-read the above (previous letter) so as not to miss any points.  I hear you have an excellent library inside your blue fortress, though I have never been inside except to protect your walls from dwarfs.  I think perhaps a trip to research the concept of human land ownership would be a good idea, as I think you are missing something in the translation between languages.

Respectfully,

Lord Frost

(( OOC: I know you need it. I actually have no ooc problem with it, but you pissed off my character by doing this posting to seize land crap for a second time, best if you handle it IC as mentioned above, you will probably (assuming you get the proper permissions from Imperial Officials) end up with a good bit more than you need - but handle it ic, and get the permissions from the chain of command before you approach me again.  I really hate adding this OOC part, but lately too many people seem to be taking IC/OOC as the same thing.  Either way good luck mate >=D ))

Theodosius Visconti rubs his sore sinuses, noting "For Creator's sake, write to Frost stating that a godly man should give ruddy charity and that Uradir was asking. If he wants to make cheeky comments, he should remember what the verb 'ask' means."

Lord Frost opens a letter from Theodosius concerning charity.

"Charity?  For a non-human that doesn't share our religious beliefs?  Has the Steward even read the garden pamplet?"

He then laughs, but who knows if it is at himself or the letter that the Steward sent.

Haelun'or officially declines to recognise the claim of Fanghorn on all land contained within the map below. The settlement of the mali'fenn shall be constructed upon it and any and all newly created human structures upon it shall be removed. This is the will of the Silver Council of Haelun'or and shall be the act of Haelun'or and its citizens.

Theodosius Visconti rubs his sore sinuses, noting "For Creator's sake, write to Frost stating that a godly man should give ruddy charity and that Uradir was asking. If he wants to make cheeky comments, he should remember what the verb 'ask' means."

Palm sliding down his face, he gestures to the Visconti, "I think 'e misread the damned letters."

An obviously agitated expression across his face, Thersist sends off a letter to 'House Frost.'

Should it be received, it would read as follow,

I've not the slightest damned idea as to how you've received letter intended for Imperial upper council and guardsman will likely need purging for handing off a letter to someone it was never initially intended for. You fail to realize that the intended recipient for this piece one, was the Emperor or at the very least the Steward and two, is a formal request over strict demand.

The second piece of land requested is claimed not by yourself, not by any house of Oren and not by any sentient form of life. When I'd personally looked over the area, all I'd found were trees, grass and water.

The area the Elves will be using has been marked in stone and their land, will be used by them. You'd encroached upon lands not your own some time ago, and when they would return the favor, you act in this manner? We've taken note of your actions, Frost. I don't feel that I need to say much more on the matter.

A letter returns to Thersist,

"Thersist,

Your veiled threats are neither asked for nor appropriate.  Your survey of the land may have been thorough, but lacked the proper research with regards to the titled paperwork.  As the Lord of Fanghorn, I make it my business to know when people try to seize land from my Barony, as any good Lord should.  As this is the second time the High Elfs have tried to seize land from me, perhaps you yourself should have read more closely.  I have included the information in this letter.  It surprises me that you are surprised that a noble would simply let a foreign body take Imperial land without the permission of the lord ruling over it.  One wonders what kind of precedent it would set for being seen publicly chastising a Lord for protecting his interests.  Perhaps the same precedent as burning a lord at the stake for raising his own levy?  Creator hope that all loyal Imperial subjects avoid such short-sightedness.

I, also, have watched you.  Though, to comment on your person or actions would most likely be beyond the scope of this letter.

Lord Frost

-Reduced to avoid clutter-

A response is sent,

"Kind of precedent it would set? Are you daft? It would set the precedent that you value Imperial allies, are remotely competent as a functioning piece of Oren and aren't struck with the Greed of stouts. And what is this half-assed attempt at insult? Are you truly so daft that you fail to realize the crimes you've committed on this day alone? To take a letter intended for the eyes of the Imperial council is considered theft of potentially sensitive information to the Empire, which, needless to say, is considered treason.

Had you any intent of relaying this information to us, it would not have been delivered by the Elves themselves. Instead, I find a note addressed to the Imperial council directly, somehow in your hands. With that being done, I can only imagine what other potentially sensitive information you've come across.

Persist in this manner and be dealt with as rebellious figure."

Smacks someone with a stale loaf of bread before rambling off towards the pair.

"The piece of land they wish to claim is in the boundries of Huntshill and as the lord of such land I happily give permission for them to build over the bank for their peoples homes and safety. Now stop squabbling, done is done.

Any land over the bank was once claimed for the county of Stafyr, as such I'll happily give the land onto these elven folk. Alright? Alright then."

A letter, sealed with the personal coat of the Crown Prince, is delivered to the Enclave of Haelunor.

___________________________________________________

To our Silver Allies,

I am disappointed in the way a vassal of the Empire has treated our trusting and honored allies in the Enclave of Haelunor. The Eldar Elves, of whom my father personally oversaw correspondence between our two nations, are not ones to deserve such a rash outburst from a noble whose please are somewhat justified, but nonetheless obnoxious in declaration. The Lord Frost was overcome with anger and distraught at the thought of his personal land being stripped that he rushed to an angered conclusion and an equally angered correspondence with you, our Silver Allies. I trust that you will overlook this small discrepancy in the form of a disgruntled Baron, and I personally, along with the Lord Stafyr, grant you permission to build upon the land you had marked out in your second outline.

Ave Chivay. And long live the Crimson-Silver.

Robert Aeldinicus Chivay, Crown Prince
