People are reacting to the constant raiding by defending themselves, can you really blame them?

Yes :)

To people that say "we use these for defending" read a few books, play some sports, get an A+ in physics science, read book specifically on medieval traps, than you'll realize, non of these are realistic, at all.

The constant raiding issue is always under discussion, so why not sort out this end of the problem until that's fixed? Solutions come from both sides most of the time, pointing fingers and saying "he started it" doesn't really help the issue.

Raids are not sieges. Sieges allow siege weaponry, making buttons, gates, and high walls useless. You cannot compare a raid to the siegewar that took place at the Dreadfort.

Never forget the most unrealistic thing, The Siege of Indagolaf.

Was thinking about making a feedback post similar to this awhile ago. 100% agree

This relates to the battle of indagolaf during december 2013. Was the worst battle ive ever experienced to an excessive use of traps.

Gee whatever happened to If it's doable in MC, it's doable in roleplay?

That only works for RP things such as items, abilities and appearances, as Iago (Lago?) stated, not exploited glitches and building death fortresses.

I think mutually planned siege battles are the way to go. Designing castles with Level Design in mind rather than "i haz win". Would require a major playerbase attitude shift though.

Or there may be another way to do it. Someone remind me to describe it when it isn't 2AM. :P

Whatever happened to that statement by Rhia that you had to stop being the hostile voice of eternal discontent on the forums? How that rule works has been explained to you a great many times.

Cyndikate, I am being very nice here. You admitted I was correct in saying that Feedback thread arguments are a cesspool, now pick up your dress and hike your boots through this slog and just exit right curtain.

PS: Most traps are made using technicalities to the rule such as Craftbook, the more you know!

Look where that got us.

I'm not showing any discontent. Why is this traps stuff a big deal when I have heard many times that we  are moving to the Minecraft direction of roleplay? Many times we have people telling me that if X is done in MC, it can be done in RP. This is where I'm very confused.

None of this makes any sense.

Yeap, full support. The amount of traps for PvP is ridiculous and blatantly stupid, just like the excessive amount of PvP now-a-days.
