John Ivory 4547 Share Posted July 17, 2014 I really like it. It adds a lot of value to items and introduces roleplay and actions which Lord of the Craft has never seen before. This past winter was deadly, and lead to many players having to scrounge around for food and such. It could enhance feudal roleplay and in general provide a very interesting economy based off of bartering and food.

The plugin only encourages trade and interaction between everyone in the server (because it's just ineffecient for you try to make everything yourself) and it puts a certain amount of base value on every item, making you now wonder if this bed is really worth just giving away after it took you five minutes to craft it. +10
Petyr 485 Share Posted July 17, 2014 @Petyr: Oh well that's kind of the point with the whole thing. Trade with a miner or blacksmith to get iron or a hinge, and give him something from your profession. But I agree about having to use cobble for a workbench is unecessary. I don't want to rely on other people to put a simple wooden door in front of a tiny home. In real life, I could probably make a functioning wooden door right now and I have zero skills in building or carpentry--it's simply not a complex task. Restrictions are fine for things like armor or weapons, which the average person with no skill could not make, but anyone should be able to farm basic foods and make basic things without a hassle. I'm not a fan of the UI or of messing with Minecraft crafting in general. It's fine to limit some crafting recipes to certain professions, and to make certain recipes only available at certain workstations, but one of the core tenets of Minecraft is the arranging of items in a 3x3 crafting bench to magically make other items. Don't take that away from me. The system as it exists now just seems arbitrarily limiting, unnecessarily complicated, and simply un-Minecraft. I think it will take away from RP, and the plug-in is definitely making me reconsider how much I'll play on the 4.0 map (which I worked on and is beautiful). When I approach LotC, I just want to log on and RP, not figure out a foreign crafting system and grind out skills until I can do basic things. If I want a grindy game with nexuses, I'd sooner play LoL or Wildstar.
Thu'um 530 Share Posted July 17, 2014 My solutions: Reduce wait times greatly. Remove unnecessary crafting recipes; I.e.: cobblestone for a crafting bench Fix losing items in workbenches on restart Once that has been done I would say it's ideal for role-play.
ARCHITECUS 4788 Share Posted July 18, 2014 I like it a lot. Once the bugs are worked out and everything is craftable, it'll be perfect. The wait times and new requirements are very nice; they add a value to items that didn't exist in 3.0.

wealthypiano 394 Share Posted July 26, 2014 The plugin is pretty amazing imo. I'd delve deeper into that, but I think alty, steven, and firestar hit it pretty well.
Farry 0 Share Posted July 27, 2014 I think the crafting system could be better. Instead of tedious wait times resulting in a grind, make items slightly rarer and harder to make. For example, more items like the skinning knife and cooking pot could be implemented for a more diverse crafting system. As always, this is just my view of things and could be completely disagreed upon.
man509 2 Share Posted July 27, 2014 When they first changed it it was fine until they made the wait time for iron tools and chainmail armor 1 hour to 40 mins!!!
Nefarious Aus Shitpost 891 Share Posted July 28, 2014 I dislike the new crafting system; its nifty sure, but it is very foreign and un-minecrafty. The incredible numbers of custom items is stupid too.
Norman 492 Share Posted July 29, 2014 pretty good plugin, interesting spin on things, but imo all building blocks should be craftable or easily obtainable. they dont give any advantage whatsoever, they just serve the purpose of makin some decent builds. also i think they should remove the "you can only craft one item at once" ****, or at least rly buff item crafting times. Birdwhisperer 1174 Share Posted July 29, 2014 Food needs to last longer, it's very difficult to keep from starving for people who cannot be online as frequently.
MintyBirds 22 Share Posted July 29, 2014 Honestly, I really like the new crafting system. Keeping certain items specific to certain areas (not to mention adding new ones) is a great idea. However, I suggest removing wait times.
Grabthar 185 Share Posted July 30, 2014 I like the crafting plugin... and i was ok with most wait times until now... I hit mastery in Stonemason and now everything takes 3 times as long as it used to.. is it a bug?
Detective 101 Share Posted August 1, 2014 I for one really enjoy the new crafting system, it acually feels legit and hardcore at the same time. In other words it feels like how it could be done in real life.
