The Rhosyngard

 

 

 

By the word of Lord Rhys Antony Briarwood the Rhosyngard is hereby established as an auxiliary force tasked with the defense and preservation of humanity’s purity and sovereignty.

 

The Rhosyngard is represented as the levy and bannermen of House Briarwood and therefore by extension House De Savoie.

 

The Rhosyngard are the devoted guardians of humanity. It is they who stand as humanity’s bulwark against those who would see the history, culture, and well-being of God’s chosen children compromised. It is they whose hearts burn with the sacred fire of passion and faith, and illuminate the path for those who are lost in the darkness of ignorance.

 

Duties

 

I. To seek out threats to humanity’s purity, sovereignty, and sanctity.

II. To defend humanity from threats to its purity, sovereignty, and sanctity.

III. To enlighten those who deny or remain unaware of humanity’s purity, sovereignty, and sanctity.

 

The Rhosyngard aim to act as a military force that hunts down and either eliminates or re-educates threats to humanity. Those that they deem as threats to the purity, sovereignty, and sanctity of humanity include but are not limited to:

 

- Those of mixed race, having human blood: “Halfbreeds”. They who would defile the pure blood that Owyn I fought so valiantly simply spit on his name by laying with another race. There are exceptions to this crime, for those who have proven themselves still loyal servants to God.

 

- Those who denounce and/or threaten the legitimacy and sovereignty of the Imperium Tertius and all preceding regimes of humanity: “Insurgents”. Humanity has always reigned as a sovereign nation, and shall always continue to do so, whether it be under the Horen, Carrion, or Chivay dynasties.

 

Oath

I, ____, of the line ____, do kneel here now: from here on out,  I will take up the shield and sword of humanity, and protect God’s chosen race. I will be adamant in my service, and defend Humanity’s purity, sanctity, and sovereignty will my life. I shall serve loyally, efficiently, and swiftly. I will safeguard the Crown and the Faith from its enemies abroad. I willingly take these duties unto myself, and I rise, ready to serve.

 

 

Ranks

Chomander: The Chomander of the Rhosyngard takes less of a primarily military role, and serves as more of an administrator. This is not to say they do not fight: they are still leader upon the battlefield.

 

Armsmeistr: The Armsmeistr of the Rhosyngard is tasked with the recruitment and training of the the Rhosyngard.  They are required to be a well-trained, and wisened fighter. They can appoint themselves or a knight to take up the role of the Rhosyngards Champion, usually representing them at tourneys and other engagements alike.

 

Chapten: The highest rank obtainable when both command positions are filled, the Chaptens of the Rhosyngard achieve this rank when they are deemed worthy of knighthood not just by the Chomander and Armsmeistr, but also by the Imperial Marshal, so that they may be seen as a Knight in both the eyes of the Rhosyngard and the eyes of the realm. They are senior warriors, and expected to display leadership among the ranks.

 

Giard: The default rank of the Rhosyngard, they make up the majority of the roster. A Giard of the Rhosyngard  is expected to uphold the tenets they swore to in their oath. They must train vigilantly, and always strive to serve Humanity and House Briarwood the best they can. Giards of the Rhosyngard develop bonds with one another, for they are siblings and companions.

 

Neophyte: The Neophytes are those who have just put forward interest in the Rhosyngard, and have not proven themselves ready to take the Oath yet. They are usually delegated to the base duties of tending to the properties of the Rhosyngard, including but not limited to organizing goods, cleaning, cooking, and resource gathering. Hard work shows determination, a value much appreciated among the Rhosyngard ranks.

 

Noncombat Roles:

- Steward: In charge of the Rhosyngard funds and valuables, as well as taking an administrative position in House Briarwood’s land holdings.

- Blacksmith: In charge of the arms and armor of the Rhosyngard. Forges and distributes them for battle.
