It was the 19th of Malin's Welcome, 1467.

Thomas Mallory sat by the dock with his fishing pole at hand, musing about things as usual. He tended to drift off into his subconscious mind and this irritated him. He often had trouble falling asleep at night for this very reason and last night was no exception. Today however, he was thinking about something which scared him. The  night before he had a dream in which he found himself falling into a void of despair. The last thing he saw was two bright orange eyes, piercing into his soul. Thomas shot up straight in his bed, sweat pouring down his back and the cold air gave him the chills as well.

"Wo't was that 'bout?" he asked himself, "I've nevah had a dream loiek that before. It felt as if it was real, tuggin' at mah -"  He was interrupted by a slight tug on his fishing pole in which he immediately yanked the rod back, elicting a splash from the water.

"Got'cha!" he exclaimed as he watches a small fish land on the dock, flailing around, "That should be enough."

As he turned to walk home he felt a familiar sensation, one of which he only experienced during the first winter of Thales,

Hunger.

His eyes shot wide as he knew he didn't have much time left before the rumbling in his stomach would increase by ten-fold. He would have to act fast if he wished to survive and thus, Thomas decided to use the skills his cousin had taught him and cook some food!

But wait! Where's the cauldron?!

Thomas frantically looked around for a cauldron to cook his fish. He tried creating a fire place, but only managed to burn a fish. No one taught him how to cook over a fire without a cauldron!

Hungry and desperate, Thomas resorted to the only option that he knew could work, ask the

dark elves.

He quickly gathered his belongings and began his trek into the wilderness in search of some darkies.

There was a place he knew which had two sisters living in that would help him. They tried to save his life once before when he 'accidentally' fell off a cliff while standing near one of his comrades. Unfortunately it failed and Thomas' corpse had to be delivered to the monks since they would not accept house calls.

Thomas ran up to the door of the home and knocked repeatedly, but recieved no answer,

"They ain't home!" he shouted angrily as he kicked the mailbox next to the door. He turned around and began to walk down the path when he noticed a small cauldron hanging above a fire and surrounded by benches off to the side.

Thomas bowed his head, thanking the Creator for saving his life, raised his head, and went to work.

6 minutes later

Thomas patted his stomach contentedly as he had just finished a delicious bowl of fish stew.

He places a lid over the rest of the bowls and stashes them in his satchel. Walking down the path and taking in the fresh air, Thomas sighs and turns south, "Goodbyes won't be necessary because I'll see em' when they arrive!" he thought as he started to walk along the coast.

Thomas was embarking on a journey, a quest, an expedition to uncover new lands! He wanted to find a place in which he could claim as his own.

Thomas was on a quest for a new realm!

He began walking along the vast plains until his journey was halted when he came across a wooden wall. He reached deep within his satchel, pulled out a small leather black book and started to write about the structure.

He was interrupted however by a woman on top of the wall. When he looked up his heart stopped for a brief moment as he spotted a group of people who were all wearing tabards in which he knew all to well.

Teutons.

Thomas' body immediately froze in place as he looked up at his former enemy. They questioned him about why he was there in which he gave an honest reply, "Explorin' is all."

They appeared to be busy and thus Thomas quickly said his farewells and resumed his journey.

The more south he went, the less he saw civilization. He would often pass abandoned settlements and felt an eerie presence about each one.

He knew his journey was only beginning.

The skygods restricted humanity within the confines of this land known as Thales, but Thomas was determined to accomplish his task in finding new land and thus he continued walking south...and more...and more...and more until he realized that he had escaped the invisible dome which surrounded Thales.

"I-I did it? I actually bypassed the domains of the skygods?! This is--"

His words were cut off by himself as he screamed on the top of his lungs.

His dream from the night before...

Those eyes...

Thomas was going on a journey in which he may never return from.

Yukanol finishes wiping down the counter in his tavern as he seems to be caught off guard, the scream of Thomas echoing quietly within the Tavern. A shiver is sent down his spine as he shakes his head "Good Yukanol has drank too much.."
