Dynamic System Of War?

Each settlement of a decent size would have a raidable territory, called a resource center. Each resource center would corenspond with the settlements culture and or terrain. For example, dwarves would have a mine, humans a lumberyard ect..

These things would be outside far enough away from the actual settlement to prevent PvPers interuppting roleplay, they would be a warzone, meaning anyone can pvp there at any time. Since there would be multiple and out of the way of the cities no interuption of roleplay.

At random hours a day the resource centers would "create" resource, responding with the theme of the resource center for example mines would generate stone and minerals, while lumberyards would create logs and lots of them.

You have to declare a raid on it, which then in one hour it's open for grabs, if the attacking force can hold it for 30 minutes they would claim it and it would then give whoever there leader(or whoever he appoints) to be able to gather the resource when it generates.

After being captured, it has a one day wait before it can be declared on again. After that time is up, it can be raided twice a day. There must be a 3 hour wait between declration of raids.

These things would be built with neutral fighting in mind. No instant death traps, just a little "arena" for fighting, with the attacking force getting a reward for winning.

The reason to defend such points is because, they begin to generate more and more as they have been defended for longer, for example if someone is able to defend it five days, it will produce much more then a resource center that has switched leaders every day.

It'll create a dynamic system of war without interupting peaceful roleplayers. While also generating resources for warring forcers.

Pros: Dynamic system of war, Fair places to fight, generates resources so people can rp instead of chop trees : ), It'll take the war away from settlements and capitals, so people don't have to fight at RP hubs which would then bring a demise of roleplay.
[3:35:14 PM] Ark: So, what do you guys think? I can't really think of any cons other then maybe hard to code.

I like this idea, my one problem with it is I believe that a profession should build a block that makes a territory for that, so us non racial groups can actually be able to do this.

Yeah, I said "Settlement of a decent size." So anything that has a decent amount of people would have one preferably. It would generate much less then a capitals of course, but still generate some to give some value to attacking that versus the actual roleplay hub of the area.

If resource points of any style were to be added, I am positive that they would be purely racial; dwarven [urguan], human [Oren], elven [Haelun'or, maybe the wood elf place if it got made], and whatever the orc place is. This isn't exactly a brand new idea, and it'd be pretty complicated. Beyond that, its purpose is a bit... flawed. It's meant to bring battle away from cities, but what sense does that make? If someone is raiding another town, they're going to raid the town... but, imagining this was implemented in some way, how would it entirely avoid that? People could still walk into a town and fight... unless PVP flags are turned off, which would be idiotic.

This reminds me of a basic war game. What even. No Comments.

Town is close to the resource center. It would generate resources conveniently for the settlement. For example if someone on the other side of the map would have to travel longer then the opposing force.

This would probably be very difficult to code, but if we could get the plugin and resource nodes working, I think it's a great idea! A place where if players of a different race are there long enough, it automatically switches to their allegiance. This would make trade & a very well functioning economy in RP more important, i.e. Oren (who in this example will have wheat) will give bread in exchange for coal from Urguan (who will have stone/mining stuff). Like a once or twice per IRL week tax thingy for the miners and farmers. 2 stacks of bread per week, and in response 3 stacks of coal, depending on how valuable the resources are at that time. I like the idea in general, though it could be very hard to implement.
