By ORDER of Emperor Boris I, Ser Gwenael de Bar AND Ser Maric II Varodyr.

Forward note from the editor:

The Chivays acted well in regards to Knighthood. Their acts and edicts advanced out structure by years, we intend to build off that

Section I.

Knightly Reforms

-House Knights and Imperial Knights will both be recognized on the roster of active knights.

-All knights of the Realm who serve the true crown are inducted into the Order of the Black Swan.

-The Order of the Black Swan is established as a political entity for the knights. Holding some imperial power and say, the Knights will be represented as a functioning body by the order.

-The Order will establish functioning 'chapters' which will classify rosters for self sufficient Knight-Chapters.

-The Order itself may call her members to serve in the Grand Knights Regiment.

-The Knights are represented by efficient structure system headed by the Grand Knight.

-As of 7th of The Amber Cold, 1470 Gwenael de Bar is Grand Knight of the Order of the Black Swan

Section II.

Loyalty to the Crown

-The Grand Knight personally swears his oaths to the Emperor, and each knight swears before the Creator that his life is to the crown.

-So long as the monarchy respects Oren and the Knight, the Knights will serve the Emperor without question.

Section III.

Loyalty to the Empire

-The Knights, although by rite sworn to the Emperor and bound by his destiny, serve a greater purpose, one given by Lord Marshal de Sola to Gwenael de Bar before his passing.

-Many times in the past the pillars which bind Oren together are shattered by ones who wish not to play by the rules. The Knights study the edicts of Oren and ensure that the foundations of the empire are not ignored.

Section IV.

Of Chapters.

-The Chapter is a outward body of Knights, they are still in service to the Order and Her Grand Knight, but their allegiance and loyalty is with the other guild they serve.

-Knight-Sergeant will be in each chapter, with a 3:1 ratio sergeants to knights.

Section V.

Knightly Conduct

-All Knights inducted under the Order of the Black Swan are expected to uphold the Knight’s Code (as re-written by Ser Maric II Varodyr, 7th of The Amber Cold, 1470).

-If caught breaking the Knight’s Code, Knights may be subject to court-marshalling and a trial before the Grand Knight. The Emperor or a Bishop may preside over the trial in place of the Grand Knight in extreme circumstances.

-Knights are expected to live pious lives and fulfil their duty to the Creator, attend masses and to not speak words of blasphemy of heresy.
