To Muster The Mali

Phaedrus once more takes his place before the fountain, bronze armor newly polished, with permanent marks, scuffs and scratches evident from previous combat. The familiar, stern Wood Elf clears his throat, holding a scroll within his gauntlet, several more like it can be seen within a satchel to his side.

"We are quite blessed, lliran...

An age of reckoning has come, and we are blessed to have the opportunity to live through it, to fight through it. To take part in making heroes, legends and history on a global scale.

I speak of Khorvad, Iblees, the Fallen One, of course. The one who claims to end our world, the one who attempted to end it twice before. This situation is not foreign to us, and while Iblees is not the only one to have made such claims, he is the only one still alive among our apparent harbingers of despair.

I refuse to despair, however, I have no reason to. The descendants are far stronger and far more worthy opponents than any daemon I know of. We are stronger than our ancestors of Aegis and we are stronger than the tribes and peoples of our fore-fathers, as well. War amongst ourselves has been kind to us, in this sense, our tactics have been refined, our swords have been tempered and our armor has been thoroughly tested.

The first time Iblees came, our fore-fathers were saved by the grace of Aenguals. The second time Iblees came, our ancestors of Aegis invaded his very realm in an act of utter defiance. Now our time has come, and what better way to begin our story by saying we unveiled this enemy with our own hands! We brought him to us, and so we shall face him, as is tradition among the descendants.

We must do so together though, lliran. Our people have squabbled in the past and some wounds are only just beginning to scar over. Our ancestors of Aegis fought Iblees together, though, mali'ame and mali'ker and mali'aheral. It mattered not, we fought as Mali.

Thus I take it upon myself to invite those of our kin across Athera to reunite under the banner of Haelun'or! Because we must stand together if we expect to stand strong, yes, but mostly because I'll be damned if the children of Malin cannot holds their heads high in pride for their actions in this era! I refuse to be left behind by Man, Dwarf, Orc and Kha. And if those among you have any pride in yourselves, you should as well.

Warriors, craftsmen, gatherers, Clerics, Druids, it does not matter! Seek out the capital of Annil'sul and prepare yourselves to aid in the war of an era. Send word to those scattered that you know, and invite them to join you as well, here.

Once he is finished, Phaedrus breathes out a quick puff of a sigh. He begins to hand out scrolls to various people in the crowd, placing a few upon the notice board and walls in turn.

Salamandra laughs.

...Though, he applauds lightly afterward.

Kaelin hears of this and although agreeing with the sentiment he sends a query to Phaedrus by bird.

"Karin'ayla, llir. I am Kaelin Mahariel, a Mali'ker who does not live within the walls of Annil'sul. We met briefly during one of your expeditions to the various archaeological sites around Athera some years ago. Like many of our kind I lived through the horrors of the Undead invasion and Iblees's release in Aegis and I share your sentiment in that our people and all of the mortal races must be united in fighting back the coming darkness - such a sentiment is shared by thousands of Mali. However, I believe that it is important that assurances are given to those willing to fight for our race who do not completely conform to the ideal of Annil'sul's rulers - those cursed to a life of persecution by circumstance of birth. Therefore I believe it is necessary to ask that those of our race who do not conform to Mali'aheral ideals of purity are allowed to fight in our unified Mali armies without fear of persecution, or worse death, at the hands of those they would lay down their lives to protect unconditionally. Truly, if our race is to stand united against the Betrayer we must first remove all cultural or legal barriers that would deter valiant warriors and others of our kind from joining with their kin to face the coming conflict.

By the grace of Malin I hope that you share my sentiments.

Yours, Kaelin Mahariel."

*A letter arrives to Anni'sul by bird. The letter has the official stamp of the Princedom of Fenn.*

"Karin'ayla lliran. The Mali'Fenn offers aid to Haelun'or in their stand against Iblees. Our fortifications lie up north, next to the corrupted land of Iblees. We will be the first line of defense in these future battles, and will need aid when fighting; knowing that his army is extremely powerful.

I myself, offer my service to fight against this beast. We will stand ready to fight his army at any cost. This is a battle we must unite for, as Mali. If you have any questions, send back a bird.

Thank you."

- Grand Prince Zane Drakon.
