The United Nations - the world's keeper of peace disbands. Their previous failures cause countries to lose faith in the UN, and as the US, China, and Russia withdraw, it topples over on itself, causing countries around the world to run rampant and conflicts arise.

 

In the East, the Internet is China's undoing as millions march onto Beijing to have democracy. Rebellious groups arise and topple the Chinese government - however, they cannot agree on anything, so China is divided into East and West and Manchurian. All provinces are unstable and neither have an official government.

 

In Europe, the Euro collapses. Germany is the hardest hit European country and undergoes a deep depression, whilst other European countries follow closely behind. the UK and Switzerland seem to be less effected - however, they do undergo a recession.

 

Russia sees the fall of the Euro as a golden opportunity. It mobilizes troops into the rest of Ukraine, conquering it easily. Putin has stepped down, and new leaders emerge, idolizing Putin's policies, and the Russian people have a strong sense of nationalism. Surrounding Slavic countries fear Russian invasion.

 

India seems to be an efficient economic powerhouse, and teams up with it's closest ally, Israel, to subdue Islamic extremist in the Middle East and build themselves up. The Arab nations view them as a enemies and religious tensions flare in the region - Extremists view the Hindus and Jews as Islam's biggest threat. Iran assumes responsibility for their destruction.

 

In the far east - Japan starts building up its military once again. The people are conflicted about actions at this time, and leaders rise up. Cut off from the U.S, Japan seems to set its sights on Manchuria.

 

In North America, the United States has lost severe influence. With no more bases in any other countries, soldiers and politicians return home. Because of their lack of foreign investments and lost influence, America is hit by a depression of a size, not seen since the Great Depression. The unemployment is at 22% and plummeting, and the stock-market has crashed, affecting the economies of countries all around. Even though the U.S has larger Oil Reserves than the Middle East, it can only last them so long.

 

 

South America, Canada, Southeast Asia, Australia, and Africa seem to be relatively unaffected by the worldly changes. Their current situations remain.

The United States of America

 

As the world undergoes heavy change and confusion, the time for America's election is at hand. A midst the chaos of the 2nd American Depression, a group of independent-politicians form the American Party - hoping to unify America's great political divide. Their presidential candidate, Douglas Sherman, wins over 75% of the nations votes, and is inducted into the White House. Socialist policies are put into place - inspired by Roosevelt's WWII ideals, the government cuts down on Military-Spending and instead chooses to build Soup-Kitchens and shelters. Using excess money from military cuts, projects are ordered to increase employment, which is currently at 22%.

 

 

The United States also decreases military spending by 50%. Without the United Nations to keep nations in check, national security is on high-alert, and offensive systems are traded into increase defense. As India is the new economic power, American investors invest in Indian factories. This upsets the American Government, as it needs to rebuild its own economy, so it offers Corporations benefits in hiring American works and relying on American manufacturing. The USA seems to realize how beneficial positive Indian-American relations could be in the long run.

 

 

The United States deploys 25,000 U.S Special Forces troops in Key West Florida. More start coming in with rations and naval ships and equipment. They are seemingly pointed at Cuba, and easily detectable by any other developed country and locals. No messages or warnings are sent to the Cuban government, and no word of it is released by the U.S.

Riots flare in Pakistan demanding a more stable and caring government. Many Pakistanis are urging India to help, and the government starts prosecuting Pakistani-Hindus and non-Muslims once again.

Ivan Korchav looked upon his country with a fervent pride. Ukraine fell easily after the European Union disbanded leaving Russia to take it. The Black Sea gave access to trade from the Mediterranian as well as much of Ukraine's fleet left unused in the invasion. Russia's economy rose with the newly gained country; however, expenses had to be made to make sure all the rebels were caught or routed. Propaganda is spread into Ukraine in an attempt to win over some of the remaining population.

Ivan knew that taking each Slavic country could prove expensive and possible disastrous. He had bigger plans in the West so he wrote a letter to the leaders of each Slavic country.

The European nations to the west are falling, and a new age is coming. The Slavic people will rise to lead the world in a new age of prosperity and union. I write to you today to reform a union amongst our nations with 3 goals.

1. Becoming the main powers of the world through expansion and military improvements.

2. Creating a stable economic policy with a shared currency and trade of raw materials.

3. Uniting the Slavic people in an alliance giving military and economic support to each member.

I urge you to accept these terms for the benefit of all our nations. Together, we can create the most powerful union the world has ever seen. Our people will thrive, and our influence will spread across the globe. Join us in this quest, and the rewards will be bountiful.

Empress Kuzo gazes out in front of the Imperial Palace. There, she watches the most elite of her soldiers training. Japan has become much more militaristic, fearing the fact that their people are stuck on a puny island. Due to this, their main focus is defense. Though while this occurs, the farming class of citizens have been able to maintain a steady income and promote internal trading, which causes the economy to stabilize.

Japan begins deploying oceanic mines around the coast, along with deploying a few destroyers.

Iran watches the tensions in Pakistan and warns India that if an Infidel soldier sets foot on to Muslim land, it would be considered a declaration of war on Iran and its allies (pretty much the entire Middle East, excluding Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Israel). This warning goes off as an alarm to the US, Japan, Europe, and Israel.

 

​The Manchurian province of China is alarmed at the expanse of the Japanese Military. It sends its relatively weak Navy to bully the Japanese into submission. Manchurian politicians spread Propaganda advocating this cause.

The young king saluted as a military parade happend in the capital.

 

The people cheered as the soldiers from the four countries marched around.

 

After the parade was over the Dom Afonso steped to the podium, he cleared his throat

 

"Today is a new day, not only for Portugal, but for Brazil, Angola and Mozambique.Today it's the day the four countries rise from the ashes! Today it's a new day for the Lusitanian people!"

 

The crowed cheered.

After the unexpected and sudden bullying from the Manchurian territory, Japan finds itself at a loss in the Naval battle. The Empress sighs, then sends a letter to the U.S.A.

As Empress I have made the executive decision to begin deploying our naval fleet and part of our Airforce against the western coast of Manchurian. After all, we have a Military Alliance treaty.

Military Actions:

Japan begins (discreetly as possible) deploying the majority of their Destroyers and Aircraft carriers on the western coast of Japan. Armed forces begin loading up into larger Drophips.

 

Internal Occurrences and Actions:

Japan continues to rise up in Economic strength. The Empress has begun the campaign trick of promoting that the newer tax policy goes towards, "Destroying the Manchurian cause". This causes angered citizens to pay taxes in the full, and some even begin donating.

Republic of India

 

President Devi Madhu watched as the Indian soldiers marched in perfect lock step and saluted him. Declaring it a national Indian holiday, Devi's election into presidency is being celebrated throughout the country. Not just a flashy show, all the military parades showed Devi's close ties with them. With the military under his thumb, a blooming economy, and a docile people, Devi had all the tools he needed to work with. Saluting the troops back, Devi began his speech.

 

"I'd like to thank all my supporters for voting me into office, and vow that I shall see my promises shall be seen through. Our sometimes violent Pakistani neighbors are at it again, with a regime trying to keep the free Pakistani people oppressed. Reputable peaceful resistance movements in Pakistan are calling for Indian intervention along with the more militant groups. I wish to send what aid I can, but do not wish to fuel a violence that could escalate. The Islamic theocracies have made it clear to intervene was to invite war. Though they would pose no threat, I fear for the damage and loss of life that would ensue. For now I shall send non military aid to the Pakistani people, and move army group 1 to the border to defend. No fighting shall spill into India, our borders shall be secured."

 

Devi enters the government wing again as the crowd cheers, sighing. He painted an image like he had a choice, that war could be avoided. He knew better, this new movement in Pakistan was not the long dreaded spark. In truth the fire had been going on for years now, all the way back to when the United States and Russia were contested here. This was just another conflict in a far greater war, but Devi was damned if he'd admit that. He had no intentions of peace, as long as the odds were good. He was not ready however, and would be content to wait to play his hand.

 

Army group 1 is mobilized and begins processing all their men and machines to the Pakistani/Indian border. Some 200,000 men and vehicles compose the group, and they begin to dig in. Fixed defense positions, trenches, and all types of bunkers. They would make no violent moves except to search any Pakistani heading for India. Supplies for an extended campaign are stockpiled in warehouses away from the front. Non-millitary aid is sent into Pakistan to aid the suffering people. A broker is sent to the Pakistani government asking for permission for Indian troops to guard the aid workers.

 

India was a rising power, and it's economy was strong. America investing in Indian companies helped, with business revenue and therefore taxes increasing. The American trade agreement was agreed on, India offering to mainly sell goods to the US. Entrepreneurs received subsidies, and monopolies received heavy handed restrictions and taxes. India has no intention of heading towards a mega-corporation capitalist system, and instead wanted free trade and entrepreneurship. 

 

Slums were still a problem in a heavily populated India, and Devi focused on a quick solution for now. New developments and mega towers are planned and started, but it would be slow going to start housing India's population. Instead the army's requirements are lowered, the pay raised, and the recruiting propaganda appealing to poorer Indian's. The training course would be hardened and brutal, designed to break the people down and rebuild them as soldiers. More poor would fill the ranks, and get out of the slums for a few years. More room and opportunities would be made available now.

 

The Japanese are assured intervention will come, but India wishes to avoid any military action for the time being. The Portuguese are given permission to trade in all Indian ports. A tariff is placed on all incoming Portuguese goods to encourage home development.

In response to the oppen trade Portugal quickly deploys part it's trading flotila.

 

A new trade route is extablished.From Portugal to Brazil, to Angola, to Mozambique and then Indian, and to Portugal again.

As the United States works to fix itself from its Great Depression, President Sherman addresses the nation.

 

"... My fellow Americans, do not despair. This depression has it us hard and has made us realize that we are as susceptible to mistakes and failures as any other foreign state or individual is. It has even humbled us - for we are not and never were God. However, God shall shine his light upon his favorite sons and daughters once again, and we shall rise up from our ashes, stronger and smarter than ever before. We are not just simply immigrants from Sweden, England, China, Japan, India, Italy, or Switzerland. We are Americans, of the great American melting pot. And when you mess with a melting pot," He pauses, smiling, "You get burned."

 

 

American construction projects and soup-kitchens are successful, and slowly the unemployment rate goes down. America, once the leader in Military-Funding, commits to helping the American-People first, and dramatic war later. Factories are built all across the west, employing hundreds of thousands. The American government also starts building solar panels across the country, in an effort to reduce oil-dependency and boost the economy. Companies that are greener, like Google, are offered tax-cuts and subsidies, however it isn't enforced. Cars are slowly made either electric or use solar-power. American scientists work on ways to devise cleaner and more efficient energy means. Nicknamed Project Oval, it is expected to take a full 10 years before significant changes are made.

 

 

The same night, President Sherman writes a letter to the Japanese government.

 

"To her dearest Empress, Kuzo.

 

"It is most upsetting to hear that the failed Manchurian state has elected to declare war on a stable, 1st-world nation, such as Japan. The United States of America will start sending war rations and supplies immediately. We will, over the course of the next few weeks, send our best Generals and 40,000 U.S naval troops to be under Japanese command until the problem is resolved. If the tension escalates, we shall further aid in the situation by pushing through the unstable Chinese governments and securing Manchuria for the Empire of Japan,

Americans, outraged by the threat given to the state of India, agree on economic sanctions of the entire Middle-East, aside from Saudi-Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE, Israel, Jordan, and Lebanon. As the United States no longer receives oil from the other Arab-nations, and has been hit by a depression because of it, they feel no guilt sanctioning that area. India is asked to place sanctions on them as well, as the Islamic theocratic nations, as well as the rest of the world, depend on India for industry. America also sends India a request for a military alliance.

 

 

Following the letter, America sends 20,000 U.S Naval Forces along with a 4-Star General into Japan, with more troops on the way. An Aircraft carrier, and a few Submarines and fighter-jets make their way there as well. A few Americans oppose the conflict, however the government insists that better Japanese-American relations will benefit the nation, and Manchuria will have a more stable government as well.

 

 

The 25,000 Special Forces troops in Key West, FL, build a camp and naval equipment arrives. Helicopters lave on long voyages to Cuba for reconnaissance purposes.

In Africa, a militant group has formed together and defeated the Nigerian government, and taking over the state. It starts building up its military and preparing to invade bordering nations, who are no match for its threat.

 

The State of Egypt declares war on Israel, and sends troops to the Israeli border. India is asked for military aid, as they are close allies.

 

Russia seems to have the largest economy in Europe - it's poverty levels decrease and is up to standards with first world nations.

 

The sanctions imposed by the U.S on the Middle-East, anger extremists, and within ours, militants capture and bomb embassies across the span, and Politicians/Marines and killed.

The Kingdom of Indonesia

 

 

The rise of Indonesia can be traced to the rise of Asrul Kapur.

 

By the year 2020, the once-promising economy of Indonesia, the fourth most populous nation on Earth, was in a tailspin. Disputes with the other oil-producing countries of the world, political turmoil, and a generally bad worldwide economy had plunged the archipelago into chaos. The weak, corrupt government had completely failed in its duties, and throughout the nation, millions upon millions suffered in poverty. The people were desperate, and so, in the elections of that year, they leapt to the the first symbol of strength they could find.

 

Asrul was a Harvard-educated, half-Indian governor in one of Sumatra's southern provinces. He was publicly Muslim, privately atheist, rousingly charismatic, and unwaveringly ruthless. He had entered the public spotlight a year earlier, when he had destroyed the Rakasa pirate fleet which had been plaguing the coasts all down the west edge of the country. The strategy was simple: when they came to his capital, he had laid an ambush, and blasted the incoming boats from each side of the harbor. The pirates were taken completely by surprise, and none survived that day. All of the prisoners were shot, and hung from the roof of the town hall.

 

It was a brutal scene, but it would never have been done if Kapur hadn't known his countrymen would be thrilled. In two years, Asrul was the only man who had been able to do anything to protect order in the South Pacific. He became a national hero overnight, and the next year, he was elected president, and vowed to make Indonesia great again.

 

His action was swift, and the Indonesian army, which had long been sitting idle, cracked down on gangs, pirates, and smugglers. The Indonesian legislature, at their president's suggestion, declared a national emergency, and civil liberties were broadly slashed in the interest of hunting down the enemy. Performance was heavily scrutinized, for the military at the time was a laughing stock. Over half of the officers were replaced over the next year. Soldiers who couldn't perform were dismissed and replaced. And as they carried out operation after operation with growing efficiency, the TNI became a force to be reckoned with.

 

With stability came foreign investment. With foreign investment came more stability. The oil and rubber trades began to thrive once again, and with the help of slight government subsidies, the country's manufacturing capacity expanded hugely, taking advantage of the huge population and still-lingering unemployment. The larger cities grew richer and more impressive, and within a few more years, it became clear to everyone that Indonesia was back on its feet.

 

In 2026, President Kapur's popularity was at an all-time high, brought on by his myriad successes and spurred by subtle propaganda. His chance was finally here. And so, on October 1st of that year, he asked the public for a referendum to make him king, no longer subject to elections and above the legislature in power. At the time, to criticize the national savior in public was social and political suicide. The next month, he announced his victory to thunderous applause.

 

From that moment, the newly formed Kingdom of Indonesia set out to prove itself as the foremost power in the South Pacific. Fishing fleets now brazenly trespass in the national waters of Australia and a dozen other countries in the area. Oil platforms have been built far from Indonesia's traditional sphere of influence. Air patrols routinely fly over Malaysian Borneo and and Papau New Guinea. The army and navy have been expanded, as new munitions factories continue to be built.

To those watching closely, it shouldn't have come as a surprise what happened the day the UN was dissolved. In the months leading up to the disbandment of the organization, the royal government had stepped up its rhetoric, always talking about how the Indonesian people were crowded into a small area, kept there by greedy, smaller, weaker nations. It was time to take their rightful place as leaders in Asia, they said. And on October 8th, the king made good on his words.

 

It began with Papau New Guinea. At 6:00 AM, three frigates sailed unopposed into Port Moresby. Firing a single warning shot and making landfall, they unloaded their cargo of Indonesian special forces, who marched to the city's capitol building and raised the Indonesian flag over it, declaring publicly that Papau New Guinea was now under Indonesian administration. Similar events were taking place in smaller ports all along the coast. The country's puny defense force is ordered to peacefully stand down.

 

Meanwhile, another force storms across the border with East Timor, aiming to quickly overwhelm and re-occupy the area. Several more frigates patrol the coast, but don't fire, as the aim is to occupy the country with the least amount of damage possible.

 

At 9:00 AM, radar in the Phillipines picks up a fleet on the approach. By 11:00 AM, the invasion force has arrived. The first 50,000 foot soldiers make landfall immediately across the southern coast, with 200,000 reinforcments quickly following. The invasion fleet of frigates and corvettes bombards coastal bases and destroys any naval resistance which attempts to resist.

 

The rise of Indonesia has begun.

After the speedy arrival of U.S.A troops and reinforcements, Japan immediately begins their sail towards the coast of the Manchurian Coast. A large wall of gray ships and aircraft begin coming into view of the Manchurians. First, the Air Forces strike down, dropping missiles towards any naval defense vessels.

 

If the dropships full of Paratroopers are able to draw near enough to the city, they would begin raining down like hellfire from the skies. The Primary Objective of this mission is simply to take over the main trading and Naval port of the Manchurian Territory.

After the Empress watches the ships leave, she spins around and marches back into the Imperial Courtyard. She then begins writing a last letter to the U.S.A.

"Mister President,

Your troops along with the combined forces of my own have set out to stomp out the forces of the Naval base on the Manchurian coast. I apologize for any American deaths.

 

-Empress Kuzo."

After, the people of Japan start desiring a speech from their Empress. Kuzo organizes a speech outside of the temple walls, which is broadcasted nationally.

Kuzo steps up to the podium, glaring around coldly to the cameras and people gathered around her.

"As my own citizens know, today Japan has taken military actions against the coast of Manchuria. We do not do this for the prospect of land, we do not do this for the lives that are being ended. Both Manchuria, and Japan will lose citizens in this fight. Japan has done nothing to provoke these... Bullies. So this is a public declaration that Japan will no longer be pushed around. The Japanese Empire will stand strong, and will not be put down like a sick dog. Any country that threatens us, will find themselves with a worthy opponent. Thank you."

 

She steps off the podium, walking off camera.

The Western Chinese Republic

 

The rise of the Western Republic of China had not been pretty. In 2020 the leaders of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau met and began operation "Definition of Red". For eight years they quietly assisted pro-democracy groups and began preparing to reclaim China from the European ideas that had destroyed the old Way in the 1900's. In 2022, when the riots hit the breaking point and no other country looked like it would intervene, they struck. The entire Cantonese area of China immediately sided with Hong Kong, and Taiwan landed its armies right on top of the PLA headquarters in Nanjing and Beijing. They seized military resources in days and the West in weeks. The Communists had been pushed back and the Western Chinese Republic was reborn, its three major parties of Nationalist, Democratic, and Capitalist established. The general Ng Ying-Hei was put in charge of the country to ensure its safety. The government has stabilized the new cities but the countryside is still untouched.

 

The year is 2028 and the general is still in charge, but all internal affairs are handled by the three parties. Western China had acquired a third to a half of all China's military, and had been building theirs up since using its large financial sectors. Its militarization was singularly larger than the other regions of China, and some placed it among the top ten armies in the world.

 

In Beijing, the Forbidden Palace had been turned into the military headquarters. Commander Ng was followed by the other generals to the map, where relays with Manchuria brought grave news.

 

"General, Japanese ships have been sighted off the coast of Manchuria. It appears a foreign invasion between the USA and Japan is in progress under the pretense of Manchurian bullying."

 

Commander Ying-Hei sighs, turning to a camera that hosts a feed that connects to all of the civilized cities in China.

 

"This is your Protector speaking. The Americans wish to conquer China using Japan. I will not allow it. We are the greatest country in Asia and that the USA would side with its former enemy is sad indeed. I do not wish for war, but to save our brethren I may be forced to assist. Four People, One Banner."

Armies in Northwestern China, numbering almost 400,000 infantry, 3,000 towed artillery, and 2,000 tanks move towards the Manchurian border and begin to cross through towards the Manchurian coast, while the other half of Western China's military moves towards its coast and other borders. The Western Chinese fleet, which has most of the old Chinese fleet including its carrier, moves towards the Japanese, and a large mass of fighters and bombers is prepped for launch.

 

A message is sent to Japan.

 

Empress of Japan,

 

You have invaded Manchuria after militarizing. Disgraceful to your ancestors, move past the city of Dandong and you will be destroyed. If you stop we might be allies yet, but if you do not prepare for a fight against a nation that can fight back.

 

Alliance offers are sent to India, Indonesia, and Russia, accompanied with trade deal offers.

 

The USA is warned of potential consequences of continuing help of Japan, including Western China's enormous manpower and resources.

 

(As a side note, Manchuria only has one city on the coast (which is Dandong). What would be its western coast is Russian.)

 

 

Moderator Events:

East Timor and Papua New Guinea fall within hours, but the Philippines digs in to bunkers and prepares to defend itself against Indonesian aggression.

 

Japan easily takes Dandong from Manchuria, whose fleet is decimated. Large Manchurian armies numbering almost a quarter million wait outside the city waiting for any Japanese movements.

After the Victory in Dandong, the Japanese forces celebrate in their new territory. Being respectful of all Chinese citizens that once resided there, they offer to let them stay in their homes or peacefully evacuate away from the coast.

 

After the Empress hears of the victory she sighs, reading over the message. With every word her expression turns more and more violent, crumpling the transcript paper that she holds in her hand. After, she replies with a brief note;

 

"General,

 

Let us not forget that under your watch and authority, you permitted the Manchurian Territory to invade and destroy our Naval vessels and forces. Japan was originally going to become an introverted Empire, dealing mainly with Internal reconstruction and defense. I am willing to cease fighting, but for a price. I desire a forced peace treaty, that will not allow either of our countries to attack one another. Our actions were simply that of retaliation.

After Contacting the General, she contacts the President of the U.S.A Once more.

"Sir President,

 

We have defeated the coastal city of Dandong. Though the General demands a cease fire, I'm currently conflicted between forcing a peace treaty between us or continue the battle for more territory for my people. I wish to consult one of your greatest Tacticians upon this matter.

Inside the borders of Japan, many Japanese citizens demand a war against the Chinese. Others, demand peace. Kuzo finds herself faced with a difficult decision. So of course, she makes a public speech that airs again world-wide to the nations with global Television coverage.

 

"Citizens of Japan, China and the US,

As leader of the onslaught against the Manchurian Territory, I have decided it to be unwise to make any executive decision to further the matter. Japanese and US Military Forces shall remain in the city of Dandong. We will not make any further hostile actions, nor will we retreat from the territory. I have extended the hand of peace towards the Republic of Western China, and await their decision. If they do not respond kindly," She pauses, "We will not go down easily, and the war shall begin," After that she quickly walks off stage, wincing as many Japanese roar out in anger. Both those whom are against war, and those who desire it. The Imperial Guard subdues the crowd, and again small amounts of inner conflict arise.
