The king also summons the prime minester of Brazil, Angola, and Mozambique to discuss the recent happeings in Asia.

Russia

Belarus, the last Slavic nation to join the newly founded Eastern Union, stood in defiance of their power. President Ivan wouldn't stand to have that happen and sends 40,000 Infantry, 500 tanks and assorted artillery, and a few squadrons of military aircraft towards Belarus. It is encouraged to all the Eastern Union members to send men in order to prove their worth. All who join will share in the conquest and glory of uniting the last of the Slavic people. The rioting in Western Ukraine continued to President Ivan's displeasure. These were fellow Slavs who stood against the Union's might. However, he knew they would continue resisting no matter how many troops he wastes in Western Ukraine so he recalls 2,000 troops and good will and spreads a message of wealth and prosperity to Western Ukraine.

The alliance is accepted with Western Republic of China adding to the wealth of the prospering Union. Paid military service is advertised for those without jobs in order to stay off the cold streets. The building of fighter jets begins as well to help strengthen the second largest Air Force in the world, costing the government. However, the increased amount of trade keeps the economy stable for a time.

The Empire announces several changes to current government policy:

- Expansion of military is to take place with a 18% increase to spending.

- Deployment of troops from areas surrounding the capital in Athens to the border with Turkey

- A mansion tax is introduced, anyone with a property value of over £2,000,000 is to be taxed extra.

- An expansion of military bases in the Aegean Islands is to take place.

 

 

A message is to be sent to Macedonia, inviting them to join as a Dux beneath the crown in an autonomous state, the same letter is also sent to Albania - both countries are reminded of their history under the Empire.

 

Messages inviting trade are sent to the Italian Republic and India - along with a defensive pact sent to Germany.

 

Mobilisation of troops is to occur on the border with Turkey upon mainland Greece - and a letter sent to the Turks demanding the handover of what the fools call Istanbul and is clearly Byzantium back to the Basileia ton Rhomaion.

The Kingdom of Indonesia

 

 

 

The crisis up north did not trouble King Asrul in the slightest. If anything, it would only speed the march of his nation's destiny. The Phillipinos resisted bravely, but it would not be enough. The Indonesian navy focused first on destroying the archipelago's naval capabilities, and when that was done, a blockade was ordered. Only the invaders could then control what came in or out.

 

By that time, the invasion had been in progress for several days, and the TNI had all but secured the southern island of Mindanao, fighting through the entrenched defenders, who had foolishly allowed their attackers to take the offensive throughout the entire campaign. Before the last Phillipino defenders on Mindanao were rounded up and executed, TNI forces were already island hopping north, and days later, the first Indonesians set foot on Luzon.

 

By this time the defenders were beleagured and weak, but the northern island had had more time to prepare. The remainder of the army of the Philipines fought back bravely, but their morale was low, and now, as Manila came under constant naval bombardment, their cause seemed hopeless. A second landing of Indonesian troops fell on the northern end of the island, far from the majority of defending forces, and was able to sweep down quickly towards Manila. Under the two pronged attack, the Phillipines collapsed.

 

Within two weeks, the majority of the invasion force was back home, and a victory parade was held in Jakarta, demonstrating as dramatically as possible the power of the King. Recruitment soars across the kingdom, with thousands of eager men ready to take up arms in Indonesia's quest for supremacy. Soon, the armed forces begin to amass once again, this time in Borneo, across the border from Malaysia. The Phillipines become the northern bastion of Indonesian power, with much of the air force relocating there, where their range is expanded.

 

In the wake of his victory, King Asrul nationalizes the country's oil deposits, kicking out foreign oil companies and selling the drilling rights to companies within his borders. The same happens with the extensive copper, gold, and rubber industries.

 

Militarization continues, as the naval drydock near Jakarta is expanded. While corvettes and submarines are being built elsewhere, this dock is set to produce three of a new class of ship not yet seen in Indonesia: the missile destroyer. Tanks are put into production as well, and the network of airbases across the kingdom is made more elaborate, ensuring that airstrikes could take place from anywhere in the event of an attack.

 

King Asrul accepts the offer of a military alliance and trade deal with West China, but declares that Indonesia will not become involved in the confict to the north unless the situation spins out of control.

Republic of India

 

The situation in Pakistan was grim, as armed conflicts increased sharply. Sectarian violence and political motivations were the true killers, as old and new arguments rose to the fore. Terrorist groups and hard line Islamist took advantage of the violence, and the Pakistani army was solely tried. Despite all this, president Devi persisted in ordering an advance. The Indian troops remained on their side of the border, quietly voicing their opinions. Operations to expand the border's defenses continue, and steady columns of men and supplies arrive.

 

The violence rising in Asia was a serious issue, and Devi shifted his focus to those matters. Let Pakistan seethe, what truly mattered were what first world nations were doing. After consulting his peers, Devi issues a global speech aiming to show India's stance on the coming issues.

 

"Though Pakistan is a dire issue, I have come to announce direr issues. Manchuria launched an assault on Japan, and then the Empire and it's allies counter attacked and took the coastal city of Dandong. Now it seems our neighbors, the Western Chinese Republic, seek to aid their Manchurian friends. War may erupt, and war could easily drag India in with it. Not only that, but now the Kingdom of Indonesia is brutally expanding. Their claims and reasons are transparent, they merely want more land. They now threaten Malaysia, a key trade partner who holds a key trade route. In order to preserver our very way of life, our allies, and our economy, we must ensure that Indonesia is checked before they threaten us. Military action will not be used unless we are given a reason, but I am calling forth the reserves. Two million and one hundred forty thousand brave men and women shall take up arms and begin training after being a civilian for so long. Thank you, and fortune be upon India."

 

A clear demand is sent to Indonesia to halt their expansion, and to remove troops from the border and waters of Malaysia.

 

The majority of the Indian navy is called forth, and the assemble near Sri Lanka. With a contingent of marines, the navy also takes up some 100,000 Indian infantry. Space is made for them in cargo ships converted to transports, along with merchant marines. The naval task force sets sail for Malaysia, asking for permission to land the troops on Malaysian (Mod Needed) soil. Devi and the Indian government promise aid to Malaysia against any Indonesian advances, and warn the Indonesian Kingdom that to advance was to declare war on India as well. If the Malaysians agreed and the Indonesians do not attack the Indian navy, the troops would land on Malaysia's west coast. The navy would stay at sea away from the straight and in ocean, wary of any attacks.

"As much as I'd like to enter our two nations into a partnership, I can't condone allying to one allied with an expansionist  Indonesian state. My opinion of peace and trade remains however, and hope we can mind one another's business."

 

The United States President is also given a reply

 

"To enter an alliance with you and the Japanese empire could bring some complications at the time being. To do so would provoke hostility from India's neighbors, at a time when India has no wish to deal with hostility. We will always keep the consideration of alliance close at hand, but can't accept for the time being."

The Kingdom of Indonesia

 

 

The Indian declaration incensed the kingdom, and Indonesian newscasters were livid. How dare India so brazenly thrust itself into matters that didn't concern it, least of all when Malaysia had not even been attacked? King Asrul himself delivers a rousing speech, declaring that Indonesia was not to be so insulted. Preparations are made for the reserves to be called up if needed, which would more than double the nation's military might. Rocket batteries are set up in the north of the kingdom, preparing to defend if need be.

 

An personal missive is sent to President Devi, from the King.

"I do not wish to fight you, and I believe you do not wish to fight me. Perhaps it's time that we talked."

The United States of America

 

As the United States lifts itself from its depression slowly, America starts working on its military prowess again. Although in a weak economic state, America's economy was the largest in the world - until India surpassed it in the 2020s, and now 2nd-largest. The government also decided that it must aid the Japanese Empire in their battle against Manchuria and now, West China, as they won't be able to do it alone. Standing at 1,500,000 troops (reserves included), the U.S military is a formidable force. The United States relaxes military cuts, and allows its military to build up again. The U.S agrees to hire military-good manufacturers as long as workers are American and work within the United States - in an effort to help boost the economy.

 

 

President Sherman publicly releases a statement regarding Western Chinese actions:

 

"...It is apparent that the government of Western China is arrogant enough to believe that either the United States of America, or the Empire of Japan will subdue to a force that attacked first, and whose only purpose is to obliterate the Japanese island. Not only do they think us cowardly enough to sit back and let them control the entirety of China for themselves, but they expect us to believe that they would not also attack the modern, and economically stable Japan. Manchuria attacked first, and still yet they blame us and they attack our troops and threaten allied citizens. Congress has approved it. The United States of America will declare war on the state of Manchuria and on Western China if any more aggressive maneuvers are made against allied forces. Let us not make peace through war, let us make peace without it."

 

 

The War-Department quickly makes preparations for war, in case it comes.

Politics:

 

In response to the Middle Eastern attacks on American embassies, the U.S withdraws all personnel from the Middle-East residing there. Sanctions are escalated, and a trade embargo is placed on Iran.

 

The United States brings back NASA, hoping to put an American to Mars. Russia is asked for a joint Russian-American Mars Mission, as they are both very adept at space technologies, and a military alliance and trade agreement is sent. Sherman knows the United States cannot afford to have bad relations with Russia, as they could benefit from each other, especially in this area.

 

Sherman sends a letter to the Japanese Emperor:

 

"My dearest Emperor of Japan, Kuzo,

 

Perhaps it would be important and a wise decision if you traveled to Washington D.C where we could discuss the events taking place in China, and the direct threat they appose to your sovereign freedom. It is important that you do not give in to these terrorists.

République Français

 

A zealous Catholic at his core, Henry de Guise rose to popularity after the downfall of the socialist party under François Hollande in the late 2010s. The socialists had brought France to the brink with more radical socialists, what many foreign critics considered totally Communist, pushing for reforms to the government that would undermine the republic that had existed since the fall of the Nazi Empire. Henry de Guise, leader of the National Front would not stand for these reforms. Henry pushed for a broad campaign against the socialists and pointed out their crucial roles in compromising European affairs and the collapse of the Eurozone. 

 

The National Front promoted European Unity and French Dominance in Europe through a strong central government with the ability to command the people's will. Henry de Guise was the perfect figurehead for the party. His charm and enthusiasm helped rally people to the cause and his strong anti-immigration rhetoric attracted many to the party who had become fed up with the stream of immigrants from Africa and the Middle East. The military which was in a state of seemingly unending decay, needed a Frenchman willing to reform it and as a former Officer, Henry de Guise would be the man who promised to do. 

 

INAUGURATION DAY - THE SPEECH

Peering out over the vast crowd, Henry watched as the military marched slowly before him to celebrate the beginning of his first term. The crowds before him were immense, many having reported it to be the largest ever assembled for an inauguration. Henry would not be phased by the crowd, now was not  a time for weakness, but rather great strength. As the assembled band concludes the national anthem, Henry makes his way to the podium and begins to speak. 

 

"People of France"

 

A pause, Henry looks out over the crowd which greets him with thunderous applause

 

"Never before in our Fifth Republic have we seen such tremendous economic strain. Our reserves sit nearly empty while corrupt officials within our own government attempt to steal and take for their personal gain."

 

The crowd begins to boo loudly, corruption and thievery had broken the back of the French economy and government over the past decade and many reports had begun to come forward about this corruption.

 

"People of France, I announce to you today that no longer will these officials be a problem. My first act as President will be a comprehensive internal investigation in order to root out the corruption that has plagued our government. Every man and woman found guilty for these crimes shall be punished to the fullest extent of French law and forced to face the people who they have driven knives into their backs."

 

The crowd erupts into applause and cheers yet again, shouts for NO MERCY are clearly heard and soon a chant begins. The words NO MERCY echo through the streets of Paris and do not let up for the remainder of the speech.

 

"No longer will France appear weak on the international stage. Our military will reorganize and rise above the challenges which face it. Our aging infrastructure shall be updated and a modern, twenty-first century state will be created to help sustain our Republic. I will not relent until France sits gloriously atop the European continent as the foreigners look up at us with envy."

 

REFORMS

 

As promised in his inauguration speech, Henry begins a sweeping investigation of the government rooting out hundreds of officials in what appears to be a ruthless attempt to purify the government of those that do it harm. In reality, Henry is only clearing a path for his own officials to step into the National Assembly so that he may do as he wishes without much pushback from the delegates.

 

To follow up his investigation, Henry begins sweeping infrastructure and economic reforms which will help boost the economy in the long term and short term. The economic reforms range from cuts on senseless spending programs and vast reductions in immigration programs for people of non-European descent. Instead funds are reallocated to the military and to the education system. 

 

MILITARY MOVEMENTS

 

The French Navy begins to assemble along the Mediterranean Coast while Marines and the Foreign Legion also gather in force. The intention of these forces is unknown to the public while President de Guise dismisses the event as a simple exercise of force.

 

DIPLOMACY

 

ITALY AND GERMANY are offered a military alliance as well as a trade union.

After seeing the reinforcements from the U.S.A Arrive and the speech President Sherman gave, a soft grin forms on the face of the young Empress. Spinning around in her chair, she faces the Imperial Court before her. As a majority, the Japanese Empire decides to withdraw their peace treaty offering from Western China.

 

The Empress makes one final public appearance. She says one simple sentence which is broadcasted globally once more.

 

"This is war."

 

Immediately after, the uproar of cheering comes from the Japanese citizens before her.

 

After her very minimal speech, she responds to the President.

 

"President Sherman,

I will board a guarded Jet in roughly a week. I do hope you accomodate my company when we arrive.

As soon as the U.S Militaristic Forces arrive, the Japanese General commands a massive push towards the wall of Western Chinese Soldiers that surround Dandong. The battle would be incredibly fierce, the following combined forces smashing into the W.C Forces.

Rafael stands in his office, overlooking the grand city of Rome. Frowning, he looks across the sprawling landscape, looking at Ancient Monuments bordering slummed alleyways. This would not stand, he had not waited fifty years for this office to watch his country fall into a coming Feudalistic Age as economies fell around Europe. Spinning his globe he looked to his neighbors to the North and to the West. It was time, time for a Golden Age amongst the fallen countries of the once great Europe. 

He makes his way to the Coliseum where thousands have gathered for a historical event. 

 

"Free peoples of the Republic,

for years, ever since the end of the horrid World Wars, our country

has been overlooked in the Global Eye. The Eye has pointed to the seemingly

gilded nation the United States and to the formerly chaotic Middle East.

It has looked to the Rise and Fall of China

The Looming Russian Empire

and most recently the split off Japanese Empress.

But no longer will it look to foreign lands.

It will look to Italia.

He pauses as the crowd teems with newfound pride, shouts of We Are Italia sound around Roma and all of the Peninsula. From the farthest mountain village to the southernmost Sicilian Port.

As the crowd begins to chant in celebration Rafael makes his way out of a guarded entrance, entering his car. 

"Contact France, it is time."

*Slowly troops are gathered at a naval port in southern Sicilia, military men leave their posts and amass on the massive island. It, like France, dismisses it as an act of national pride

 

*Within the nation local buisinesses become funded by the government, as well as large sea-trade companies sold ports and warehouses in Italian Coastal Cities, in an attempt to boost the economy

 

*The request of France is immediately accepted, soon diplomats enter France to talks, it is announced that they are to be talking of "Climate Change and its affect on the Mediterranean"

Republic of India

 

The Indian navy calmly sat at anchor just off of Indonesian waters, waiting for their orders. It was true Devi and the government had no wish to fight the Indonesians, but they represented a problem. They were highly untrustworthy and very militant, to let them grow was to invite an enemy. To let them live and ally with would see good gain, but trade could easily be harmed. Weighing the issues, a reply is sent to Indonesia.

 

"We can not tolerate the invasion of the Sovereign Philippines, and other smaller nations whom have fallen to your Kingdom. Your presence itself is a threat to our remaining trade partners, and I wish for peace to maintain the trade routes. War can be avoided, but only if you do what is right. I propose you hold a referendum in all the newly conquered countries of yours, and if they vote for independence, you will give it to them. I shall remain out of your land, and offer peace...if the terms are met."

 

The navy remains idle, but constant aerial and submersible surveillance makes sure they won't be caught unaware. 

 

The first batch of activated reserves begin training in newly prefabricated training camps. With the extended training campaign, it would take much longer. It would pay off in the end however, as India's fresh troops would be well trained and armed. India begins to import some of the worlds largest and bets arms suppliers.

 

In a large sale, the Indian government begins to buy up all of the Italian Ports and warehouses, and then lease it to entrepreneurs loyal to the Indian government.

The Kingdom of Indonesia

 

The Indian demand was laughable, but their objections had been made clear. The respose is sent quickly.

"Releasing territory that is rightfully ours is out of the question, and if you insist on this demand then we will have to refuse. However, I appreciate that you are ready to protect your interests, and so I will offer you this: Indonesia will not aggressively advance farther north than its current borders, and will not menace the trade routes that you apparently depend on. Malaysia will be allowed to continue occupying the northern coast of Borneo. In return, we ask for a pledge that you will not interfere with Indonesia unless directly attacked, and will remove your military forces from Southeast Asia.

Indonesia's war machine was ready for full tilt. The question was whether India would face it.

A missive is sent to the Indian government, requesting that it pull its demands on Indonesia. The President also states that if they do not, the recently bought warehouses and stores will be repossessed by the military with no refund or warning. 

 

Police begin to surround the ports and warehouses, getting ready if the Indian Government continues with this foolish endeavor.

In order to form a bond with a potential ally, the French President Henry de Guise releases a statement regarding the escalation of tensions between India and Indonesia during a press briefing early one morning on the lawn of Versailles. 

 

"The situation in Asia concerns me deeply as France has invested many a Frank on interests in the area. From assessments made by my foreign affairs team as well as myself, I have come to the conclusion that INDIA is acting as the aggressor in this escalation of tensions and must immediately be condemned for their actions against the peaceful nation of Indonesia. It is Indonesia's sovereign right as the masters of the south pacific to ensure stability in the region which was their intentions when pacifying the people of Malaysia. 

 

The proposition put forth by the Indonesian King is a generous one. One which I myself would not make given the massive amount of disrespect put forth by the President of India. I encourage the Indian President to accept the Indonesian offer with gratitude for their bully-like actions are being allowed to pass unpunished save for a minor treaty. "

 

A military alliance and trade union is offered to Indonesia, and an invitation is sent personally to His Majesty King Asrul to join in Climate Talks in Marseille. 

 

Troop movements continue along the Mediterranean Coast with transports being filled on the daily. A report is released that an Algerian terrorist organization has attacked several French industrial centers in the region and the French government demands that the Algerian government immediately repair the problem before the Foreign Legion must intervene.
