A Declaration Of Disownment

An official-looking poster is nailed to the notice board in Petrus by a servant of the House of Blackwell. It appears to be a declaration of some sort from a noble lord...

The patriarch of House Blackwell, the revered Lord Nicholas Desmond Blackwell the I, Baron of the Realm and Lord Deputy of the Holy Oren Empire, has declared that from this day forth, Ser Christopher Blackwell is no longer to be graced with the Blackwell name, and in turn is henceforth disowned, his surname from this point forward to be recognized as "Truman".

This is due to a number of reasons, including but not limited to:

  • Direct insults to the honor of a number of his fellow kin, including his now former brother, the Lord of Blackwell, and former great-great-uncle, the honorable Hedge Knight James Blackwell.
  • The spreading of unjust and false rumors against his House's status and the credibility of his lord.
  • The attempted sabotage of political friendships and alliances.
  • Venomous behavior and a plotting nature unhealthy to the name and reputation of the House.

From this day forward, he is not to be recognized as a member of the honorable House of Blackwell, and is not to be entertained by any servant of the House nor any man, woman, or child carrying the honorable Blackwell name.

Below the signature, the official seal of House Blackwell is stamped in red wax to the bottom of the declaration.

"I don't think that is allowed." Delaney says, after reading that one of his knights was declared disowned.

Richard's heavy and loud pace stops by the poster, as he'd stroke his newly shaven chin, before nodding to himself in approval, scurrying off.

Random Orenian lawyer notes that it's well within the rights of a lord to disown a member of his family.

A letter would reach Nicholas Blackwell, it reads as follows:

To the esteemed Lord Nicholas Blackwell;

You have slandered my name for the last time; the slander that you seem so beset as to put to my name, and our house, shall come to an end in court.

No longer shall your lies taint the name,
Ser Christopher Blackwell

*The Watcher would happen upon this Declaration while walking down the road. He would stare at it for a moment a smirk hidden under his hood. He would then send a hooded man at his side to find Nicholas Blackwell (Truman), his smirk hidden but still lit across his face.
