A Letter: Hope For Salvation

A worn middle aged man sits at a table outside in the wind, looking to the sky every so often as he pens a letter, grey and tired eyes critically examining each word as if his life defended on it. It would be sent to Angren, Petrus' keep to Tuvya Carrion and Karovia, to Aleksander Carrion, but some other people might know about it for some reason.

"I write this from a place far away, in cowardice perhaps, in the hope that some form of forgiveness and salvation can someday be found for me in wake of what I have done. During Thales I became caught in an infinite loop of tormenting thoughts which I could not rid myself of, and this warped my mind, hardened my heart as I wallowed in my own loneliness.

After the arrival on Athera, I was left behind, forgotten and completely alone. In blinding haze of my own darkness, I despicably, and grotesquely prostrated myself to the vilest and unholiest of evils in my despair, the minions of the destroyer. Through my loathsome and dishonourable deceptions, as my pseudonym; Radek, I can only see in my most vivid and devious dreams, the harm I have caused, now that the fog has lifted.

Back in the fringe, after discovering a shard of the golden lance, I met a being named Herun. He became a friend and a comrade in the fight against Setherien. I write this in an attempt to dilute my vile web of lies with the truth. Should you, the people for whom I have fought my entire life, declare that my heinous betrayal is unworthy of repentance or forgiveness, then I shall accept that and resign myself to my fate..

- Ser Drake Lancefeld"

As the carrier of the letter flies into the distance, the rugged knight walks over to the water's side and stares down into the blue, at his own reflection. Looking into his own eyes, he sees his haunted expression disappear ever so slightly. He sighs anxiously, looking across the water.

Aleksandr Carrion reads it, he yawns as his eyes glance across the page. He then perks a brow. "Hrm, am not knowing what this is about, but okay?" he says before stuffing it into the correct pile at his desk.
