I think removing it at this point would start a shitstorm and lots of extra work for the admin team. Bugs can always be fixed later anyway.

I love nexus regions, although I have a few suggestions:

  • Allow VIPs to create VIP plots with a modreq and a residence pillar, anywhere within the wilds.
  • Allow people to combine adjacent regions, so long as one of the regions has enough players to fill both. (I.E. A 4-player region can be combined with a 6-player region with 12 total players, so long as the two are near each other)
  • Allow purchasable region flags: deny chest-access for 1000 minas/week, deny use for 5000 minas/week, deny mob-spawning for 500 minas/week deny PvP for 10,000 minas/week (maybe?), healing/hunger flags for even more...
  • Allow people to "warclaim" protected, non-reserved regions. They would face the wrath of nature or some other force, and a large event battle could occur. If the players succeed, a claimable region is created.

If the Nexus plug-in is removed the amount of work that the gms would have to put in for each and EVERY plot that exists now would be pretty crazy and take up weeks of their time. My vote is to keep it in order to save the gms time that could be better put into something more productive. My only complaint along with a few others is A) Activity and B) Allowing VIP donors a plot. The only problem I see with B is the world might become pretty populated or cluttered and I see why the server moderators may want to try and control/regulate that to some degree.

I agree Even though the plugin still needs fixing right now it is still workable and putting more of a workload onto the gm's is definitely not needed right now. With the nexus magic plugin on the way they have enough on there plates as is.

This doesn't seem very even. It sounds to me like it's;

1) Keep nexus regions as they are and risk nothing.

vs.

2) Get rid of it and maybe lose your buildings, maybe not? *whimsical shrug*

It's not really a vote for or against the plugin itself, then. Just my two cents.

This poll is quite an interesting one, since it doesn't actually hold value due to it being private. Notice that we can't actually pinpoint who is voting and thus makes votes invalid, considering that many times in the past people have abused the system to get their way.

As a note, the votes seem wildly odd considering my thread poll shows completely different results and is a public vote.

Your poll was before the update to the plugin. However, it also provided an alternative to the plugin that was less vague and likely unfavorable.

There's definitely an amount of truth to it. Both fear of change or bad pre-update experiences can sway the vote in favor of the plugin as it stands now. Sunk cost thinking trap? Likely. I am urging people to vote for the mechanical foundations of the plugin itself, however, and not the region policy it (hopes) to enforce: This policy can change if the adminstration deems it necessary, plugin or no.

But in the end the players may vote for whatever reason they wish and the outcome will be acted upon regardless. That at least is a degree of control I hope you can appreciate.

I say just vote yes for now and in the future hopefully the plugin will change for the better. :)

We have to have some faith in the Technicians.

The people have spoken.

There's still an unfortunate amount of upset people which we hope to further bring back (bad past experience or constructive criticism? let us know!). I hope to address these on an individual feedback basis. I'm sure administration will provide a region policy for those people. Also there's currently no activity check beyond logging in I'm not sure why that belief is so pervasive.

Moved to The Great Library. It shall be sorted into the appropriate category shortly.

If you feel this is a mistake, please contact myself or any FM and we'll restore it.
