The Guide To Blah.

Most people are aware that the Uruks speak blah. But the full language isn't laid out in the wiki.

So I am here to take my time to describe blah, it's a rather simple language to learn and is a lot of fun to tweak around with.

What causes blah? Due to the uruks having their tusks protrude from their mouth. Their speaking comes out rough, and sometimes very challenging to understand. Note that uruks have their own set of tusks, causing how thick their blah may be.

The unique words for the language can be found here in the wiki page.  http://wiki.lordofthecraft.net/Blah

But there is more than just their unique words, but how their tusks affect their natural speak too.

The hard soundings

This should be the first thing you understand. Shouldn't be used all the time. But should be used to give your words a hard sounding.

C = K

S = Z

Ex.1

"Welcome to the Carnival!"

"Whelkum tu (thauh/zha/dah)kanivaul!"

Ex.2

"Sesame street!"

"Zezumeh Ztreet!"

(Note that these aren't official soundings. Feel free to tweak around with them!)

The literal soundings

Sometimes for an uruk it is hard to fully pronounce words.

"Friend."

"Freyhund."

I'm not sure if there are any more notes to write down. I'm sure there are. But I haven't gotten sleep and wrote this fairly quickly. (Will make edits when fully awake heh)

But, here are some sentences so you can get a feel of the uruks.

"How are you?"

"Haw (ahm/am/ahum/aure) lat?"

---

"I like to fight!"

"(Mi/mei) (lyke/liek/) tu klomp!"

---

"Give me some food!"

"Gib mei zhum fuud!"

---

"Attack them!"

"(Flat/Flaht) (dem/zen/them/anythingyouthinkwouldfit!)"

This isn't the best guide, but I am sure to revise it in the super-near future.

The end!

Zar'roc's bub'hosh father finally stops rolling in his grave like a feris-wheel...

Zar'roc feels a peace in the spirits.

May the spirits be with you.

I miss Aegis blah, where you didn't have to jumble up every single word to roleplay.

Yeah, full on blah I feel drives away newer players as they a lot don't want to take the time to learn how to speak it.

Other than that, nice guide! I suggest editing in a link to the Blah dictionary (it's somewhere on the forums).

Yeah, it's one of the reasons I haven't tried it yet. I already have difficulty doing basic accent typing. :(

Actually, since This post was made, it isn't necessary to start speaking full on blah as soon as you're an Orc. Though, I feel like it's not a very well known fact ^^.

Otherwise, well done! It's great to see that you've taken some initiative in trying to help out new players. Hopefully it'll make the information a lot more accessible and will bring a bunch of new Orcs to the server. Cheers.

It's not a well known fact because it was shot down. Happyshackles was viewed as trying to make the Orcs more human like, which in some aspects is true. I supported that thread, but the majority of the comments were negative. If you could get the current Rex, Burke, to say that it is still viable, then that'd be good.

This guide covers the very basics as well as provide goods examples. One important thing to remember is that every orc develops his own way of speaking the blah. They develop lisps and such as time goes on due to injuries, scars. The language is a way to forward orc culture and character development.
