~THE KINGDOM OF CAMPESTRIBUS~

se_roy.gif

The soldiers and militia cheer esthetically as the Horde is routed.

Legatus Maximus Quintus Bassilius is grinning ear to ear.
"PERSUE THEM!" he orders. "And don't stop until they're out of the Kingdom! DEFENSOR IS WITH US!"

The Army of Man would continue to pursue the routed Horde, until they are outside of the northern borders of Campestribus. Afterwards, the forces would take defensive positions outside the city of Abalava, creating defensive positions, stockades, and entrenchments along the northern border in case the Horde decides to turn back and counter attack.

Legate Vitruvius would be put in charge of the Army, in joint command with the Legate from Vyrantium, while a small delegation of troops, along with some food supplies from the Maritime cities that still had access to the trading routes with the Iron Dominion. They would follow the Legatus Maximus, entering the capital city of Lauriacum.

A grand victory parade would take place in the capital, many of it's building damaged heavily or destroyed by the Orcish siege gear. The Royal Knights, who had been stationed in the city during the conflict, would join in the Parade to the Royal Palace.

Morale would be boosted immediately as food is distributed to the people, starved from months of rationing. The colors of Vyrantium, Maren, and Campestribus would be waved from the windows of still-standing buildings.

As the delegation approaches the Royal Advisory and the Queen and Grand Duchess, in the courtyard of the battered Royal Palace, they would ask, "Where is the King?"

At this Quintus would be silent for a moment, a tear running down the military man's cheek. The musicians playing their instruments in accompaniment with the envoy would abruptly stop, the city waiting in silence for the Legatus Maximus's answer.

"The King... The King is dead. He was killed by the Tamreth on a peaceful diplomatic mission... trying to rally support for us. He died a hero." He took the crown from his bag, holding it up.

The people gasp. Women begin to weep, including the widowed Queen. The Grand Duchess is shocked to hear of this; a tear rolls down her face, as she throws herself at the Legatus Maximus, hugging him tightly.

After the Princess releases him, the Oracle of Defensor steps forward. "I had sensed such a disturbance..." she hisses, going to take the crown from the Legatus Maximus's hands.

r169_457x256_17565_Aasimar_Oracle_2d_fan

She would place the crown the Duchess/Princess's head. "In the name of Defensor, and by the tradition that is that of the House of Trentor, I name you Queen Marie Trentor of the Kingdom of Campestribus."

"LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!" The crowd shouts in unison.

~=~=~=~

Several days later, the Royal Parliament meets in chaos. The King was dead, and they had yet to see whether the new Queen and her husband, King Quintus Bassileus Trentor, would be of any good.

After some bickering and chaotic rants about the state of the Kingdom, and about whether the Queen or the King should lead during this era, the Queen finally demands silence, her voice echoing throughout the chambers. The bickering lords yield, staring at their new lieges.

"Is this what my father would have wanted?!" She shrieks. "OF COURSE NOT! We must work together to rebuild the Kingdom!"

The parliament murmurs in agreement, listening intently.

"I suggest that Quintus- I mean, the King and I, split responsibilities, and rule as dual monarchs. Though I shall remain the Complete Head of State, he will be of my same status. I shall manage domestic affairs, and he shall manage international and military ones.

I ask for the Parliament to approve of this, and allow us to rebuild our Kingdom... These are dark times, but they shall pass soon enough."

After a while, the monarchs get a majority vote, and are granted their budget for the process of reconstruction.

((Since this post is getting kinda long, I'm just going to make an actions tab like I did on my first post. :P))

ACTIONS:

  • A new Queen, Queen Marie Trentor, has been crowned in Campestribus, along with her new husband, King Quintus Bassileus Trentor.
  • Parliament issues a committee of powerful Counts and engineers, including the Counts of Xathus and Abalava, to begin rebuilding the villages looted and sacked by the Orcs. (3 Turns, at 1/3rd of the villages being repaired per turn)
  • Preists of Defensor would be dispatched across the land to purify the salted fields, though this may take a while... (3 turns, same as the rebuilding of villages) Until then, Campestribus would buy food from the Iron Dominion or simply harvest Maritime goods by the coast of the sea.
  • Trading pacts are requested from Vyrantium, The Kingdom of Maren, The Dominion of Marste, and Daidrec to help aid in the reconstruction process. A trading pact is also made with the High Fae Kingdom, and is accepted ((As per the last posting by the Fae)).
  • The Queen of Campestribus would call for the Humanic Council to meet a second time, in liberated Lauriacum. ((Maybe a Skype RP this time round to make things easier?))
  • The vassalization offer from the Iron Dominion is declined.
  • King Quintus Trentor would call for more men to join the Royal Army and form a number of extra legions, aiming to construct a powerful fighting force of 15,000 men, some of them to be recruited from the militia that helped to save Campestribus. Lion Handlers would also be hired, and would be given instructions to find and tame 400 lions for the purposes of military usage (2 turns).
  • The Army of Man stationed on the Northern Border would be at CRITICAL ALERT, sentries and guardsmen watching their fortified positions at night. They would be ready to defend against any invading army coming their way, specifically the Horde of Lur or it's allies.
  • The fleet of Campestribus is recalled, being stationed in Abalava.
  • Repair work begins on the damaged, and destroyed, buildings in Lauriacum.
  • The 4,000 Royal Knights would begin to take squires, and would attempt to replace their fallen comrades (4 turns).
  • The Oracle of Defensor and en envoy of priests would travel to Daidrec's Holy City; she wishes to meet with their Prophet. However, if not received within a short amount of time, she would return to Lauriacum to attend to her duties. They would be on extremely high alert, and the Oracle would use her immense and powerful magics to shield her delegation from any harm that would come to them.

Porandor Latafrumri

News of the Lur horde's defeat was disheartening, but many still craved to follow in their footsteps, up to the recent loss. However, the army was not yet ready, to attack in rash and blind rage would would result in failure, or at least a pyrrhic victory. As such, the navy, largely compassed of swift war galleys is sent out to perform hit-and-run raids upon the fishing and merchant vessels of Campestribus, capturing any ships if possible. ((MOD ACTION TO SEE WHAT'S HIP HOP AND HAPPENING))

The rest of the Porandori military continue to fortify itself. A further 6,000 warriors are recruited and begin training, as well as 1,500 Lur cavalry and 100 shamans. These inductees will bring the Porandor's military to 24,000 warriors, 6,000 Lur wolf cavalry, and 400 shamans.

---

Meanwhile, Buubztik decides to visit the beastmasters to see how the progress of the scaddernak breeding goes. The beastmaster, clearly previously a nomad, approaches the High Shaman and gives a progress report.

Hogar+pic.jpg

"The breeding mostly goes well, revered Frumz-burim, however the scaddernak do resist our attempts at making them breed. I expect that we will not be able to breed naklings very swiftly, to my great discontent."

---

Meanwhile, diplomatic shamans are sent to the Iron Dominion and the Fae of Tamenth. Both are offered non-aggression pacts and trade offers.

The Dominion of Martse

free-tribal-tattoos-designs-pictures.jpg

In the now conflict-rended lands of Serault, a regiment of Martse soldiers begin a march. Its commander, Marquess de Ran, offers the counts and lords of Serault to join the banner of Martse. They are offered almost full autonomy and, of course, all other benefits that come with being under a passive, Silvan Fâe leader. Counties and holds with high bandit populations are given assistance in keeping the peace.

In Martse itself, the levies slowly begin to return home, but the national security is at a Medium level. The armorship navies begin to set out in attempts to wipe out pirates and raiders in the ocean.

The retinues of Martse begin to expand and levies are trained into near-professional armies, but for what purpose nobody but the Martse leadership knows.

Trade with the Kingdom of Campestribus is accepted. Large caravans of food and other goods begin to stream in from Martse.

The Horde of Lur

Ibn-ali, with the army in tow, retreats back, away from the siege camp. As the current commander with the highest reputation within the Horde as of now. He decides to keep the name “Horde of Lur”, in respect for the fallen Rap’Lur. He has his sub-commanders go on and take a census on lost forces, as he marches his army away from the forward siege camp.

Ibn-ali decides to withdraw: As gutted as his forces are, the enemy has lost even more. The fields were salted, the capitol all but razed. Rebuilding would take years; years his army would grow in power. For now, forward scouts were sent to the Horde of Lur lands, proclaiming that Ibn-ali is the official successor of the Horde, as proclaimed by Rap’Lur on his dying breath.

In the meantime, the Horde now under his command had grown while he was away. Many orcs who desired battle were now lining up to join the now-ended war effort. Bear cavalry, put through their intense training years ago are now readied for battle. Economically, he was not on the back foot, however his land was undeveloped and raw, and power was swiftly falling out of his hands..

As Ibn-ali retreated, he had his army fortify some land nearby the Horde’s plains edge holdings. Here, the slaves which were sent back to the Horde holdings would be put to meaningful work; farming for food for the Horde

Messengers were sent throughout the lands (except in the Iron Dominion), proclaiming a safe haven where the Low Fae of the world can live unmolested within the Horde of Lur’s lands. Ibn-ali knows that the Low Fae are essentially all oppressed, and offering a safe haven for them can create a large pool of men with which to fill his army with.

Army recruitment is now to be rewarded richly as opposed to other walks of work. However, for those who are absolutely not inclined to join the military will not be forced to. Slaves will be used for domestic works in the Horde, watched over by the taskmaster orcs which have earned an honorable retirement.

The hand of diplomacy is extended to the fledgling Low Fae nation which is establishing itself to the south. Unhindered access to the waterways is requested, in exchange for the protection of the Horde. Protection for the new Low Fae nation is requested of his fellow orcish tribal nations as well.

-The Kingdom of Maren is successful in capturing a dragon. The careful luring of the sky serpents which lurked among he mountains combined with knowledge and skill allowed them to capture the dragon.

-The Confrderation expands further north, claiming the wastes non else wanted

-The fields once lush near the Human lands are sewn with salt, and the efforts of laborers and priests work to make the lands workable again ((2 turns))

-Piracy is at a low due to many naval warships out these days, a good thing for trade

-Scavengers and looters seem to be picking the battlefield, however these is a great lack of corpses of all sides of the recent conflict...

http://youtu.be/hlWcRwtse5g

A great boom is heard from the Iron Mountains, a shout was heard across the land in an ancient language. Reports from across the world state that as the shout was heard, Dragons took flight and more than have been seen in millennia were in flight.

maxresdefault.jpg

The people within the Kingdom of Maren rejoice, their day had come! The Dragons were here to save those who respected them. The truth, however was kept secret and none truly know what the reason for it was. At the end of the aptly named 'Week of Dragons,' was a sight not seen since recorded time. A dragon, long with a wingspan whose shadow covered the capital of Maren in a shadow

http://youtu.be/p497e6MX1co

As the people gasped and shouted, swarming into the streets to gaze as the magnificent sight, a buzz of gossip and voices filled with excitement and dread emirated from within. As the King of Maren exited his fortress to gaze up at this sight, his Royal Guard stood open mouthed, while the Crown Prince of the Fâe'n raised an eyebrow, as their meeting had been interrupted by this event.

The massive beast then spun in the air, turning his head downward, and folding it's wings inward, dove to the city so the cries of the people. At the last minute did the dragon halt and brake, spreading it's large wings and halting itself, kicking up snow and dirt from the streets into the air as the figure upon it gazed upon the onlookers. They had landed before the King, and his eyes were drawn to the man dressed in such finery.

dragon_rider_by_seanmcclain-d4uk0pn.jpg

The being dismounted the Dragon, which say proudly, it's scaled hide shown brightly in the light of the sun which was now able to bathe the city. Rays reflected from the beast and children approached, wide eyes gazing at the wonderful creature which seemed to enjoy the attention, a smile seemed to be upon it's face as it let the children climb upon it and rejoice.

However, the Rider was not as jolly... He looked from behind his hood, a face which was devoid of emotion, just cold analyzing eyes. He scanned the King and his guards as well as the Fâe Princeling. The man nodded slightly to himself, then to the King "The time is nigh, King. Will your people be Dragonmen, like you claim and follow the path, or will I crush you as I have so many pretenders?"

hooded_warrior_by_sic_side_fx-d3106vc.jp

The man didn't wait for an answer casting off his robe, he revealed the dark plate beneath, his breastplate made of steel and scales from defeated dragons. He was their future, and the people cheered. The Crown Prince furrowed his brow, looking to the King... What would happen now?

Fae of Tamenth

Logo-MH3_Symbol.png

The torment of the old priest of Campestribus has continued. Setherus laughs spookily through the mists of his soul in the skeleton body under robe and mask. The teeth jatter as he tilts his head and grabs the old man by the throat. The skeleton hand has strength of a real man, the old priest could feel the aura of dark magic around this grip.

undead_wizard_by_bgx1.jpg

"The Defensor. The Defensor. One of the mightly old gods, so pathetic. I am one true god, your god is nothing more than a weak hope for you humans.
Question about your god, where is he now? Where is his mighty fist upon me, or is this the path Defensor set for you. To die by my hands for your king and Kingdom. Well you are wrong, I will get all your secrets out of you even if you think you are going to your afterlife. When you think you are dawned to the afterlife, you will be woken in spirit into your rotten body. Tortured and tortured, until no skin is left. A skeleton with your soul trapped in this world, watching helpless and desiring to die.
I'm Setherus, Tamenth God of Justice and Revenge. The two headed dragon!
Tell me priest, tell me everything you know of your religion's magic, rituals and secrets.Tell me everything. Do as your god demands and Setherus may show you mercy!"

If the priest was to refuse to speak or say anything about the Defensor religion magic, Setherus would torture the old priest with knives of all shapes and sizes until the priest talk.

x----------------------------------------x

The news of dragons spreaded to Tamenth, this concerned the Gods of Tamenth although Setherus does not find this worrying as it might bring a good fight. The Gods agreed it was time to make a sudden move against Campestribus while they are weak, messangers were sent to possible allies to rally a march. Mekarth and Setherus shall be leading the army, all necromancers were rallied to the burial site of over 8,000 corpses supplied to them from past battles and Tamenth's dead, as well as surrounding areas of Tamenth. Ancient chants of the necromancers spoken around Tamenth and burial site, green aura magic casted to the corpses and ground. The corpses in the pits of burial site begin to rise, these were flesh armoured undead among with zombie-like peasants all rising on top of each other. They were instructed to get out of their tomb, and supplied with weapons from Tamenth's armoury. Around Tamenth, necromancers risen skeleton ancient corspes from the ground. These skeleton were even plain, wore Fae armour or an animal skeleton killed. The earth shaken around these necromancers as the corspes risen. All the undead was instructed to gather armour and weapons to gather with the living Fae army on the each of Tamenth's land.

bow_before_the_dead_by_lordhayabusa357-d

A army of dead and living has been made. The count of the army is 15,000 Fae swords/bowmen, 8,000 armoured zombies, 5,000 armoured skeletons, 80 necromancers and lead by Mekarth, master of necromancy and Setherus, rumoured who can shapeshift into a two headed dragon. This army will gather together under (1-2  turn), although the army may be slower to march when the time comes but the people of Tamenth cheer in joy of this mighty army.

x------------------------------------------------------x

Sirath and Fundor was to take charge of Tamenth while the army leaves. Sirath looked worried on this situation Tamenth is in, she contacted Speaker Rhaegos on a secret matter. She asked for Speaker Rhaegos to ride of to Kingdom of Campestribus in a peaceful matter to talk to Kingdom of Campestribus leader(s) about something. Although Speaker Rhaegos know the risks of death if he decides to go there but this matter needs to be dealt with.

Diplomacy

-Horde of Lur and Porandor Latafrumri were offered military alliance and rally to march against Kingdom of Campestribus.

-A message sent to The Dominion of Martse for trading as well as possible help from them to strike Kingdom of Campestibus if possible, it would be understandable if not able.

-Fundor, God of blood and war sent himself to the Dwarven Kingdom of The Molten Bastion to request to speak to the leader or leaders of the kingdom. They will find that he is dressed in strange anicent red robe attached to bulked skeleton-like armour and he is wearing strange mask with one hole. A aura surrounds the being. Fundor would like to request a offer in a coming war.

The Iron Dominion

BlackrockClan.png

Red banners are strung all about the stony confines of Dol'Treum, capital of the Iron Dominion, as a vile word reaches the common-folk: the Supreme Overlord-Chancellor has died of natural means. Women weep and men mourn. Even the Low Fae shed tears for their rightful overlord (or rather, are made to. . .). Slowly and dismally, the grand ceremony commemorating the ruler in death and life begins. Hrrak's body is carried through the city in a casket made out of pure, polished ruby. The process of the casket was a difficult one: first, the ruby had to be melted down. Then, the best Drudmur gem-workers and glass-workers joined forces to imbue the ruby casket with gold streams depicting scenes from the codex of seven and ancient runes to protect the Chanellor in death. Hrrak had built his own tomb before he died, like all great kings did, and was placed into the massive cavern of masterfully worked stone the size of a small dwarven city. The gates to the tomb are shut, barred, and enchanted with runes so that grave robbers do not attempt anything. 100 Troll-Mounted Diamondbreakers are kept around the entrance at all times.

CAT_sep_2006_05.jpg

As always, no ceremony was done without a sacrifice. It was Iron-Drudmur custom to sacrifice living beings to the patron gods of the deceased. Hrrak had the two most difficult Lords of the Mountain to please as his patrons: he had Faegnir the Lord of War and the Lord of Fire Engrath. A suitable ceremony needed to take place. Faegnir demanded blood of enemies, and Engrath demanded a sacrifice by fire. . .so why not please both in one grand ceremony?

2000 Low Fae of varying ages were gathered at the tomb of Hrrak. It was customary that all religious sacrifices made were not forced, therefore the Low Fae had to walk into this willingly. The best way for this to happen was to make them blind.

And so 2000 (blind) Low Fae of varying ages came into the great tomb of Hrrak. As his ruby casket was inserted into the wall, in a position so that a living Hrrak would be able to bear witness to the glorious ceremony, the Low Fae were all marched to a large depression in the center of the room. There they waited, some of them in armor to please Faegnir, and the others naked so that Engrath would rejoice as he got to witness all of their bodies while they were sacrificed. One by one, the Low Fae were deposited into the large hole, thinking that they were possibly returning to their barrack, but it was not so.

The Runelords of the Iron Drudmur, the equivalent of a priest-warrior in other cultures, gathered around the pit, exactly 222 of them, 111 for each Lord. They began to chant and sing the hymns of Faegnir and Engrath, as two of them raised the banners of the Lords. For Faegnir, the banner is a read heart impaled on a black sword on a grey background. For Engrath, it is a large orange flame sorrounded in a halo of yellow against a black background. Waving the banners about, the priests chanted in unison as tons of red powder was dumped into the hole from specialized compartments above.

A large drum beat in the distance, joined by the chanting of the runelords and other Drudmur in the room. The guards pounded their weapons against their shields, and horns blew in the distance, forming a dark chant that filed the terrified ears of the Low Fae, who were utterly confused of what was happening. As the dust rained down on them, they coughed and sputtered, and finally, the Iron Runemaster stepped forth, holding his hands up towards the pit. Every runelord did the same, as the began to pray to Engrath to grant them fire, tracing the rune of 'Flame' out before them with their hands. Almost instantaneously, the pit caught aflame, the powder raging the fire on.

The most impressive design of the ceremony was possibly the simple way the tomb of Hrrak Steelfist was designed. It was made in a special shape in correspondence with the pit in which the sacrifices were to be made. Any loud noises that would come out of the stone sacrificial pit in the center of the room bounced off the angled walls of the chamber in such a way that they sounded like a warhorn bellowing after a glorious victory. The more the Low Fae screamed, the louder the warhorn sounded, heralding Hrrak's arrival to the Overworld. The Drudmur rejoiced at the sound, exploding out in ecstasy. The Runelords swore that this was proof that Engrath and Faegnir was pleased.

. . .

Marek, however, knew better.

His father had been a smart man. The tomb was secretly crafted by his desire, the architects later killed to withhold the secret. Hrrak never failed to impress. Marek applauded at the bellowing, thinking of the strategy as smart, but Marek was not stupid like most Drudmur seemed to be. The odd angles of the walls, the strange positioning of the columns in relativity to the pit: it all made sense to him. After all, he had taken years upon years of schooling in Architecture and Geometry. Marek was like that; he differed from his father in a single, chief way: he did not forsake knowledge.

Hrrak had rightfully believed that knowledge was poison to an empire. Marek believed the same, however, unlike Hrrak, he had never deprived himself of knowledge. If Hrrak had gained knowledge like Marek had, he would know that poison is necessary to making an antidote. Marek studied magic, the Runes of the Drudmur, unlike his father. Marek knew of numbers and economics, unlike his father. Like his father, Marek had studied strategy and military, but unlike his father he had not skipped over the valuable information left by their predecessors in strategy books and scrolls. Hrrak built himself from scratch; Marek used others to build himself.

The glorious ceremony of his father's burial was not Hrrak's design: it was Marek's. Marek believed in the Lords of the Mountain more devotedly than his father. He knew that they would help him out more if he made a large sacrifice. This sacrifice was less about Faegnir than it was about Engrath. Marek knew that pleasing Engrath granted the Drudmur powers beyond reckoning. . .and so he hoped to establish a connection with him.

Rag.jpg

Marek also refashioned the title of Ruler for himself. He was not Supreme Overlord-Chancellor anymore. .no, that title was too plain for him. Marek preferred Supreme Venerated Runemaster Overlord-Chancellor of the Iron Dominion. He would much rather prefer the Supreme Exalted Runelord Emperor of the Iron Empire, but the Elders warned him that the Lords of the Mountain despised Empires, for Emperors are above a Lord in the hierarchy of mortal government. After all, all the Iron Dominion is is a vassal state to the Ultimate Lordship of the Mountain, the heavenly kingdom of the Lords of the Mountain.

Marek wanted to please his gods, unlike his father, who had worshiped them yet had never meddled with them. They said that the Lords were cruel and tyrannical, but Marek new better. He new how Gods worked. . .he knew how they craved worship and prayer. If one thing was to go awry, Marek could ban their religion and cause the Lords to go extinct. Such knowledge did a Runelord of Treum hold.

With that done. . .it was time the Iron Dominion showed just how /Dominating/ it could be.

~THE KINGDOM OF CAMPESTRIBUS~

se_roy.gif

Reconstruction was going well in the Kingdom of Campestribus.

Roughly one third of all of the pillaged towns had now been rebuilt by the government public works projects, and half of the . When necessity came, Parliament was a truly efficient body.

house-of-lods.png

And they would have to remain efficient in the coming days, thought King Quintus Trentor as he sat next to his wife, the Queen and supreme Head of State, on his throne in the chambers of Parliament. By this time, Marie was now pregnant with his son.

Parliament would not normally be in session at this time; each individual count/countess and baron/baroness should have, in theory, been working on raising their levies to shore-up defenses along the northern border until the Royal Army could be resoldified. 5,000 legionaries, or five legions, had already been hastily trained for war and been sent to the now super-fortified Northern Border to join Vyrantium's legions and the other forces of the Army of Man, as well as the 4,000 Royal Knights, but from the rumors spreading across the realm, they would need more... and soon.

The war lions were also truly a blessing from Defensor. Though they could not be raise en masse, the 200 lions already trained would be dispatched to the border as well.

Campestribus would not be conquered by pagan Necromancers.

The Oracle also had recently made an announcement to the people of Campestribus, with the approval of the Parliament:

An evil god was ruling of the Fae of Tamenth. With the death of King Kaecillius, there would be a CRUSADE in the name of Defensor against the forces that had slain him.

lion-of-judah-with-soldier.jpg

(A portrait made by the Campestrian Church of The Defensor riding into combat)

All convicts and criminals of the Kingdom of Campestribus who would join the Royal Army to assist in this "Defensive Crusade" would be granted full amnesty, in addition to eternal forgiveness for their sins by their god. 2,000 Priests of Defensor, once they are done purifying the Kingdom's land, would also join the forces at the northern border, prepared to use their power in combat. The Oracle herself knows that there will be a Crusade, and that mobilization will be hastened, but she nevertheless attempts to commune with The Defensor in an attempt to request specific instructions from him if at all possible. ((Mod action requested for both))

People of all faiths ruled by just and fair gods are also called upon to join Campestribus in their Defensive Crusade in fending off the evil god Setherus and his armies, in addition to the nations of The Kingdom of Maren (They would be reminded that many of their knights were also killed along with their King by the Fae), Vyrantium (The status of the Tamenth as an adept necromancer state would also be mentioned in the Kingdom's request), The Dominion of Marste (They would be reminded of the hundreds of years of peaceful friendship that they have shared with the Kingdom, and their standing lucrative Trading Agreement and Non-Agression Pact), and the High Kingdom of the Fae.

Meanwhile, the mercenary group offered to them during the previous war by the Iron Dominion would be hired on the spot by the Parliament of Campestribus, and would be sent their backpay. These soldiers would be ordered to join the Army of Man along the northern frontier as soon as possible.

If the raids on the Campestrian merchant ships at sea had a success rate of more than 40%, the Kingdom's fleet of powerful warships would be dispatched to travel with the ships in convoys until the piracy by the Orcs dies down.

And now for the purpose of the meeting of Parliament.

The Speaker of Tamneth is escorted into the meeting chambers by two soldiers. Notably, he would have been disarmed of all weaponry when he was stopped at the fortifications on the Northern Border, and his hands would have been tightly bound behind his back, so that he could not use his magic if he possessed any.

The soldiers purposely shove him onto his knees before the Queen, the King, and the Lords of Parliament.

The King stands up from his throne, drawing the Sword of Defensor from it's sheath.

He examines it closely, though peacefully.

"Speak, Worshiper of Evil." Quintus demands, frowning. "And address myself and Parliament if anyone at all! You have no right to address our Queen, the daughter of the man your god murdered, directly."

-=-=-=-=-=-=-

In other matters, the Priest of Defensor being tortured would provide no further information to the evil god, and would scream something about his days being numbered as he's dragged away to the torture chambers.

The HUMANIC COUNCIL would also be held as soon as the Imperial Archon and Dragon King of Maren showed up to it, although the Queen was simply going to call for war against the Tamnreth anyways.

Vyrantium is also asked for them to keep their legions stationed on the Northern Campestrian Border if at all possible; for the conflict that has plagued the South has not yet ended...

The Iron Dominion's leader is sent condolences by the King and Queen of Campestribus. They are also asked for a nonaggression pact so that their trade may continue to thrive, and that a friendship might be established between their nations.

Porandor Latafrumri

The Fae of Tamenth's call to war is answered, their military alliance accepted. After all, if you planned on going to war with someone, you might as well do it when a might necromancer horde was about to help you do so as well. The majority of the Porandori army, 20,000 warriors, 6,000 Lur wolf cavalry and 400 shamans, march to Tamenth to meet up with their forces. [1 page]. War is declared on Campestribus.

The war galleys that were privateering pull back, and return to the heart of Porandori lands. With some loot and plunder stolen, they were moderately satisfied with their less than noble ventures.

Non-aggression pacts are offered to all nations not part of the Humanic Council.

The Kingdom of the True Lur is offered to join the Porandori, and create a stronger force against the heathens to the west, and to honour the Spirits. [Due to inactivity of sneaky, Mod plox]

With rumours of the other nations starting accessing powerful beings and boons from their gods, the Porandori Shamanic Council, led by Buubztik, begin to delve into the creation of Muyakelgs. These powerful beings were crafted to the size of a small building, made from flesh and bone, and inhabited by an elemental spirit, thus allowing them to manipulate their relevant elements. The first attempts are made in the creation of Fire Muyakelgs. [Mod for Yae or Nae]

The Vyrantium Imperium

Within the Magisterium of the Imperium, the Magisters around the entire Imperium have convened once more to dicuss the Imperiums foreign efforts. having two Legions in the South, the Magisterium is split on either returning them home, or sending reinforcements hearing of a powerful Fae Necromancer in the South. The Archon finally decides to address the Magisterium

"Magisters of the Imperium, we have won many victories although not without cost. In the South one of our finest Legates was crippled in his duel with the infamous Rap'lur. While our Legions to the East Mountains. Now we hear of this 'Necromancer' in the South and we are to back down? Vyrantium is the state of supreme Magocracy, we have the most powerful Mages. I call upon the Magisters of the Imperium to pass sending the sixth and seventh legions to the South to assist the fourth and fifth. I myself will lead these armies and I will meet this 'Necromancer' and show him how a real mage handles himself."

the Magisters talk among themselves before agreeing with the Archon and the motion is passed and the Legions mentioned prepare the long march south

Military actions

-The Imperium prepares to send its Sixth and Seventh Legions south to Campestius with the Archon at the head of the army. They would join the Fourth and Fifth Legions that would give the Imperium over twenty thousand soldiers to assist the Kingdom-

-The rest of the Legions of the Imperium continue to train and keep within the Imperiums Borders to ensure security within the Empire-

Diplomatic Actions

-A diplomat is sent to Campestius with the message "Although we do not follow your religion, we will join you in the military Campaign, the Archon himself is interested in this 'Necromancer' and his removal from this world. Two more legions are being sent south to your lands which will increase the Imperiums force to number over twenty thousand-

[super short post; doesn't even count as a turn]

The Campestrian fleet would quickly ferry the extra legions from Vyrantium back and forth to the Northern Border's fortifications in the Kingdom, assuming they're planning to follow the same route as last time. Any ship, Orcish or otherwise, that attempted to attack the grand fleet would be blown out of the water by powerful anti-ship ballistas.

The Grand Admiral would salute the Archon particularly as he boards the ship, to note, as would every other sailor. They obviously seem to show him a great deal of respect, as though he were a high-ranking Legate of their own military, or even the King himself.

Attacking huge Campestrian warships, especially traveling in a huge convoy, is a very bad idea indeed.

Otherwise, if they were to take another route, the fortifications would await their arrival.

Confederation of Gal Varak

And so the Confederation allowed the Kingdom of Maren to walk off on terms not their own. Not liking it, they still listened to Ulric who insisted on honoring the Iron Dominion. This did not mean they went immediately to peace however, the fortified positions along the border were stiffly garrisoned. Staying within the Confederation's border, they helped with the construction beginning to turn the wooden forts into castles. The mine-cities within Maren received nearly a doubling of reinforcements, and Mackenzie to oversee things.  Men still continued expanding the Confederation's territory in the north, as settlers came in behind them. Swathes of land are given over to the men who distinguished themselves in the short war. Most of  those granted to the ones who utterly smashed the Maren army besieging their mine cities. The rest of the men not on the frontier or in a garrison are taken for a further plan or allowed to return home.

That further purpose was a new plan of the Confederation's. So far keeping their reaving quiet and masqueraded, the loot flowing in had been good. Other nations were noticing the piracy now, and though not all of it owned up to the Confederation, some of them were to blame. Instead an official plan is made, and the resources collected for it. The majority of the Confederation's fleet so far protecting trade and patrolling home waters are called to a muster point off the coast. Along with one thousand reavers, five thousand regular soldiers, and three thousand settlers, they would be picked up by the fleet. Most of the warriors fit in the existing navy, but the settlers would have to load into freshly built transport ships or commandeered merchant vessels. Along with this undertaking came large hulks carrying all the supplies and tools this expedition would need, protected by the rear guard of war ships. The travel would be slow, and it would take a bit of time to organize such an undertaking. But when they launched, they would fly the Confederation's banner and state nothing except the wish for peace.

Production has been peaking in the Confederation, as the expansion of land led to more and more resources. Growing mines in the homeland the city-mines fed the raw furnace of industry, and still had enough to sell of the the Confederation's trade partners. With the long established forges and Drudish help, they were producing quality in good times. No solider would say he went to war unequipped, and few would complain of their armor saving them. Sadly not all troops were directly under Confederation control and supply list, so many troops also remained lightly armored.

The troops stationed in the city-mines did not leave their boundaries, they merely kept the city safe, the slaves in line, and helped out with work. The mines went continuously deeper and further spread across as the amount of slaves and resources increased. With Confederation troops lending a hand, planned mines and tunnels soon sprung to hand. Army scouts and miners are commissioned to start the hard task of mapping the mines and natural or not so much tunnels. With the army involved, they would ensure the knowledge passes into Mackenzie's hands first and only. With the option to grow outward denied, the city-mines grew down. With habs and other sorts of buildings carved in stone. The top already mined out tiers of the mine were given over to domestic use, though key points were kept to hold slaves or move materials. With Mackenzie's prying eye the multiple projects were done efficiently and well.

The Kingdom of The Maren

The First Dragon Rider

The Usurper of the Draken Kingdom

He Who Carved a Nation from a Realm of Ancient Wyrms

Dragon's Foe - In The Ancient Drakentongue

Maren.

The First King of Men in the Iron Mountains had returned. He was later recorded telling his Wing, his Regent Lev, that he had been in the heart of the mountains dwelling with one of the last living Wyrms. The Wyrm once known as Rêæx, but now called by Maren, Brother. Maren had dissapeared into the mountains during the First Age, his death was never recorded, but moreso assumed. His dynasty was the one that ruled when he returned for his crown, under the guise of an ancient dragon priest. He had shed those robes when he landed in the city, atop Brother. And he had gained a Crown. However, the Crown displeased him. It was that of Dwarvish make, even if it was from the bones of the race of Wyrm. He cast it down and gave it to his Regent. Who had possessed it in the first place. No, a King would wear a Crown he himself had earned. The First Crown of The Dragon Men. A crown forged for Maren in the first Dragon War, the war in which he and his armies of mountain men brought down the dragons and tamed the Wyrm King. He set forth a series of reform that brought the expanding Empire to its roots.

Reforms and Actions:
The Dragon Legion, The Pyromancer Cohort, and the Expiditionary Legion are all brought under one name of the Marenian Drakenmen. A force that would soon have a troop not seen on the battlefield since the First Age.

Children are picked from the noble houses of the Realm's Jarls. They are paired with new dragon hatchlings brought in from the Week of Dragons. These people and their beasts will grow to be as brothers and sisters to one another.

The Order of Dragon Priests has many of its brothers put to death by flame. They had been corrupt and were scamming the populace for money, and many had not even studied the Ancient Wyrm Speech, Drakentongue. The New Order is formed and each Priest is turned into a Warrior Priest, skilled in the art of the blade and pyromancy.

Expansion is stopped for now, and the Marenian Drakenmen focus on bringing order to the newly gained holdings and electing new Jarls.

Maren himself decides to attend this new Humanic Council held by the Queen of Campebestrius, but instead of riding with a royal retinue, he soars on top of Brother. The Wyrm's Wings cast a shadow upon the capital city of Campy, a sight for all the citizens to witness the new jewel of Maren, the Ancient King of Dragon Men and the Ancient King of Dragons, riding with eachothers. Brother lands atop the citadel and Maren moves into the council chambers to speak with his fellow kin.

A letter arrives at the forests of the wood elves, demanding tribute of 3,000 Bows and a man to teach the art of Necromancy to the Order of Dragon Priest's Head Priest. Otherwise, their forests will be covered in Dragon Flame and the remains trampled by the boots of Maren's armies.

Martse

medieval_banners_by_ivcevski-d3clngk.jpg

Queen Andara Edelarc laid in her bed, looking up at the wooden roof of the Capital's small keep. She hears a knock at the door.

"Come in."

The door swings open quickly, and instead of facing the usual late-night servant or retainer, she is faced with the Marquess in the East, Branng of the House of Daîm. He is sturdy, having lived a life of battle against petty bandits and raiders. He wears the coronet marking him as one of the four strongest lords of Martse, and, after bowing slightly and calling in two of the others, a state meeting of the utmost importance is held.

The next day, Andara stepped up to the assembled nobles of the Dominion with a speech. She looks pointedly at Branng, who smiles politely and bows.

"It has come to my attention, and I have long meant to address, the fact that a Fâe lady lords over a large number of Humans that long for glory and fame. This I cannot give, and for the past century I have kept Martse at peace and in a state of solidarity. With the changing times, however, we too must change. It is for this purpose that I step down to pave the way for a Human nation, and take up the role of Priestess of Martse, to guide the populace into a centralized religion."

And as such, the Dominion of Martse was changed to the Grand Duchy of Martse, ruled by Grand Duke Branng Daîm. The Capital is moved to Greyhall, a massive fort on the top of a hill in a large and flat plains ringed with forests. The religion of the Martser people is dubbed "The Religion of the Faithful of the South", following a polytheistic worship of three gods; Juna the Lady, Martske the Knight, and Ger the Diligent. The three form the triarchy of the Duchy's three regions, and each region quickly claims their favor the greatest by one of the three gods.

The Martser armies had not been idle, though. For the past four years they had been amassed, and now they had a leader willing to use the army. The Grand Duke calls forth the banners for their campaign, and Campestribus' call for a crusade is accepted. The 19,000 strong infantry, 7,000 strong plains cavalry, and 100-Fâe archer regiment begins to move in force towards the Campestribus-Tamenth front. While their cavalry is incredibly powerful and well trained, their infantry is quite lacking in comparison to the discipline and order of the northern nations. The armies are sent in 2-1 and 3-1 ratios of infantry and cavalry regiments, making three armies of seven total regiments and a five regiment and 100 archer army is left in Martse to defend.

THE KINGDOM OF CAMPESTRIBUS

The Oracle of Defensor and monarchs are both very pleased to hear of the Grand Dutchy's descision to send reinforcements to the Northern Border.

The Crusade shall begin shortly, although the Army of Man is currently shoring up defenses and engaging in training proceedures. Forts would be constructed along the border, the crowning jewel of the fortifications that have existed since the Great Invasion.

The Grand Dutchy of Marste is also garrunteed independence from the Kingdom, so long as they maintain their standing non-aggression pact.

In addition, the Grand Dutchy of Marste is extended an invitation by the Queen of Campestribus to join the Humanic Council, the second meeting of which is about to begin in Lauriacum.

The Queen would have been forced to leave the Parliament chambers to begin this council, a herald telling her of the arrivals of the Imperial Archon and the Dragon King Maren. Some racket would have been caused from seeing the dragon flying overhead, and the city garrison would have barely restrained themselves from openings fire upon the dragon. Nevertheless, the king is greeted gracefully by a herald, and is invited to follow him to the conference room in which the Council is being held.

-----

Meanwhile, the King of Campestribus would continue glaring at the Speaker.

"I have the complete authority to speak for her majesty; excuse her absense, please," he says emotionlessly as he turns the sword over in his hands.

------

The cleansing of the fields would finally be completed, and peasants would begin to plan their crops once more. However, immense trade and commerce would continue to flourish between what has now become known as the Southern Triangle, in which Campestribus sells and buys goods from both the Iron Dominion and the Grand Dutchy of Marste, and acts as a conduit through which trade can be shared between the three nations.

Any profit received from this trade mediation would be put towards paying military wages and the process of Reconstruction.

---------
THE SECOND HUMANIC COUNCIL

Assuming that the other two members and the one new invitee attend the council, the Queen of Campestribus, about 3 or 4 months pregnant, would address the council. ((Next post when I get back from trip. Will be gone until Monday. ;.;))
