A Fix To Ct [Test Run]

Lago, I believe it has also to do with the fact that stepping into the CT region replenishes health. I've seen where skirmishers would skirt into the CT region and get full health only to spring back out and win fights against their chasing counterparts.

Anthos Dwarf vs Human battles near the old GM village when that became the CT?

I guess it's worth a shot, right?

Unfortunately due to the way the map was made, moving the Cloud Temple will prove more difficult than worth honestly.

I'll be camping the roads outside cloud temple allot easier, thank you for your consideration for professional minecraft mlg pvpers. Screw roleplay :^)

Guys, why would we want to move the Cloud Temple? It's in the ideal location, right in the center of roleplay. Remember how problematic it was when we had a distant, non-central Cloud Temple in Anthos? Let's not advocate for repeating that, lest we wish for more new players to get lost, the Cloud Temple to be entirely empty, and walking to be more time-consuming than roleplay once more (if you have places to go and people to see, anyways).

Obviously, the above is a simplification of the problems of having a non-central Cloud Temple, but all of the above were present in differing degrees and resolved by having the Cloud Temple in a central location.

I've chased, and have been chased, a lot. Half of the times CT was in the way. Just saying.

You stated my problem with it. It's in the center of roleplay. First of all, i'm not convinced that a lot of people care that it's in the center or a rp hub. After the initial launch, I see far less roleplay in the new spawn than I did the second spawn in Anthos. Second, and more important, it's central location puts it in the way of roleplay. Here is the difference:

The Anthos second spawn was in the center of the map, off of a side road. Go to it and leave whenever you want. The spawn for Athera is in the middle of the road. You can't do jack-diddlydoo without being FORCED to go through it. You can walk around it, but that doesn't make sense rply or oocly to me.

Now if it's not worth doing because the way the map is built, I can accept that. I already accepted that Athera is poorly built.

Edit: Back to the OP, I still don't think we should duct tape this problem. If this is a temporary fix, it's great. I think it's better worth our time to move it.

@Karma

As an active "pathmaker" I would make another road if I thought it would solve this problem. It's still an option though in the greater scheme of things. Moving Spawn isn't likely to happen.

It should solve this problem. It is the easiest solution to this to be frank. It isnt hard to just cut off the road to the CT on both sides, put some forests up where the roads lead into or something, and have a central enter/exit area. Maybe make the Halfling village the center of all this? Im sure they wont mind the extra attention.

I'm in for ideas, as this has been an issue with me from the creation of Athera. Hopefully this works out, I think it wil. I'm on my phone, so I didnt get a good chance to see that map, but is the plan to make a seperate road, or have the current road pvp-true and the surrounding land pvp-false?

May I point out a suggestion but first. Good work Kitten I hope this test works though as stated maybe a new road also?

Then to the suggestion of people saying move the cloud temple? How about no, as people stated it'll prove more harm then good and also frankly the CT shouldn't be moved, if you have a problem move your city, your fault for putting it in the way of the CT's region if you complain about it.

Another road is possible and I can look into it but I am also going to allow this to run it's course & see what issues come up. Originally the position of CT made sense for Athera because it was the beginning and ALL the nations were down the long road. Of course things quickly developed and settlements naturally popped up in the northern parts of the map.

Like I said I will look over making another road! Thanks for the input folks.

Good idea, but I can easily see a (in teamspeak) "He's running to aesterwald, cut through halflings and cut him off!" from an attacking force.

I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW GOOD SIR THAT WE WILL NOT BE ALLOWING ANY BIGG'UNS TO TRAMPLE OUR GOOD CROPS TO GET TO CUTTING DOWN OTHER BIGG'UNS!
