“We looked for you during the battle of Crows Folly,” The Renatus Knight escorted by a few others said to Roy and his accompanying Strannik.

“I wasn't there,” Roy Carrion answered with a smirk on his face.

“When Petrus fell, House Romstun attempted to kill king Aleksandr with swords in arms, and again, we wondered wondered where you were.”

“Far away,” Roy Carrion said, “or House Carrion would yet sit upon the throne of Oren, and Godfrey would be burning within the first Sky.”

“We came down on Akovia to see if you sought refuge there,” The Knight told Roy, "and the House Carrions banners were tipped instead, and all their citizens bent the knee to pledge us fealty. I was certain you would be among them.”

“My knee does not bend easily,” said Roy Carrion.

“Godferik fled to the join the church, with your cousin Lorina and Ivan Barrow. I thought you might have gone with him.”

“Daniel is a good man and true,” said Roy Carrion.

“But not a follower of the Strans of Old.,” Roy Carrion pointed out. “The Stranniks do not flee.”

“Then or now,” said Strannik Dmitri. Roy donned his helm.

“We swore a vow,” explained The Renatus Knight.

The Renatus Knight's wraiths moved up beside him, with steel swords in hand. They were seven against two.

“And now it begins,” said Roy Carrion, wielding the Spear of the raevir saint Stran. Dmitri unsheathed his glaive and held it with both hands. The spear Roy held was pale as a diamond, alive with light.

“No,” the Renatus Knight said with cheer in his voice. “Now it ends.”

 

The battle went on for a few hours and Roy died along with his Strannik Dmitri. THE END.
