Falent's Speech

Falent Ireheart walks to the middle of Kal’Karad and begins his speech.

My fellow dwed, it appears that, once more, we are kingless; and this time it has left us in a state worse than ever. There is a war at our borders, and our kin are leaving in numbers. Today, I come to speak my mind about what I would accomplish as King. For too long have we struggled with corruption in our system. It is time to renew, and climb out of this whole that we’ve dug for ourselves.

Changes to be done:

Politically:

• Removal of Lords system to be replaced by another council with lower power.

• Introduction of a Privy-Monarchy system which will allow for a more unified decision to remove kings.

• Revamp of the current Articles of Urguan as to apply to the new Privy-Monarchy system.

Guilds:

• Guilds will be revived.

• Replacement of inefficient leaders with new ones.

• Higher encouragement to join guilds to provide for and help the kingdom.

Housing:

• The housing issue will be addressed as there is not enough housing to fill the needs of our kin.

• Taxes on housing will be lowered and changed to every second stone week.

• All members of the Legion will see their taxes cut down by ⅓.

Clans:

• An attempt to reconciliation with the clans in ‘Exodus’ will be made.

• Any clan requesting a hold or hall will be allowed to pay a small fee for a section of land protected by the kingdom.

• Clan Fathers will be allowed to sit in on the Privy meetings as to facilitate information transmission between the council and the clans.

Militaristic:

• Legion will be ‘Reborn’

• Attempt to return the Legion to its former glory.

• Legionnaires will be paid a salary dependent on rank.

 

Peace:

• An attempt at long-term/permanent peace will be made with our enemies.
