Introduction:

Hey everyone, it’s that time of the week again! The past few days have been particularly profitable for Leuvaarden, with the Festival of Saint Owyn having begun on Sunday. Attendance has been surprisingly high thus far and we hope for similar activeness in the events to follow.

 

Festival of Owyn:

The Festival of the Owyn has been celebrated over the past few saint’s days, many different activities being partaken in. The bash commenced following the arrival of a pair of foreign merchants, hailing from the shores of Aeldin. With them, the auctioneers brought exotic goods that saw many from the crowd depart with lighter pockets but inflated egos. Later that saint's day, a mass was held in the newly renovated Cathedral of Saint Amyas accompanied with a feast presided over by the Count Guy de Bar. The drake hunt and crossbow competition had to be cancelled, sadly, because of the impending dwarven menace.

 

New additions to the town:

We’ve recently expanded the amount of townhomes in the lower city! The new homes are largely affordable, though the state-owned Avenese Bank is always happy to provide a low-interest loan if funds happen to be lacking.

 

Dwarven forces defeated once more:

Just a few Saint’s days ago, the dwarves conceded a costly defeat after they tried interrupting the Festival of Owyn. The Order of Saint Amyas played an instrumental role in yet another Orenian victory, returning to Leuvaarden in jubilant. All able-bodied, pious young men that seek to share in such triumph are encouraged to enlist!

New Lord Steward:

With the town’s recent expansion, the Count has appointed new administrators to aid in Leuvaarden’s governance. In light of his organizational genius, Cantonus Chivay has been appointed Lord Steward, now acting as the figurehead of the Council of Stewards. He will be in charge of general taxation and other economic matters around the city; any applicants for the position of Steward should make themselves known to him now.

Adolf Ruhr von Manstein speaks angrily "I do wish my newly returned brother would be Lord Steward. Now there is no place for him in the council, and he is hardly a warrior." He smirks Savoyardily, losing the honest trait. "We shall see that a position is given to him....one way or another."
