To Haelun'or

OOC: I don't see the point in lying when I say this decision was OOC based. There has been a lot of harrassment and jabbing at me recently, as well as pressure from many people. Additionally, it's become time consuming and generally not fun.

Supremacy, being both a villain RP'er and on top of that, a GM, I hope you realize that there is a point where 'dealing with it in RP' becomes pointless, where two people can no longer get along, trying to force one to play a game with the other is a dumb thing to do. Believe it or not I don't hate you personally but you are the biggest reason this past month has been very stressful, not just on me, but on the entire Cerulin leadership. Attempts to explain our side have been met with what we see as a very uncaring and apathetic attitude which is discouraging to see.

I am stepping down as my grades have dropped and I've been neglecting my IRL friends. I don't plan on taking part in nation leading anymore, nor attempting to puppet those who take up the torch. I am doing what I see as the best course of action, stepping down to distance myself from people who I often am in conflict with. I hope to be able to simply log on when I want to and RP with my friends on a character I've developed for a long time, in an RP hub I helped create.

Now I am leaving you alone and no longer in a position where that would be detrimental, I hope you can be mature enough to leave me alone from here on out.

===============================================================================

By way of a pigeon flock, this letter has been made available for all the denizens of both Haelun'or and Cerulin to see.

I suppose the most important thing to begin with is the announcement that I am stepping down from my position of Meracah'ir of the Sons of Cernunnos. Tristin Tresery will be taking my position. Tresery in an individual I have often times not seen eye to eye with, though I have learned to judge people from an objective standpoint, and know he will be a worthy commander.

Contrary to popular belief, my hatred for the mali'aheral is not nearly as strong as some would have you believe. In fact, it is non existent. Anyone who poses a threat to my people and my family earn my hatred, and during the war it was the sillumir doing so. Hating a race on principle is a tiring affair which I have never taken part in.

I have in my time amongst the elves found quite a few mali'aheral to be courtly and pleasant enough company.

However, my biggest revelation was this: You are all just elves.

A seemingly shallow thing to proclaim on the surface, but still momentous. In conflict, the perception of your enemy becomes skewed to the point where they no longer seem like sentient beings. And indeed, there was a point where the Elves of Leyulin saw the mali'aheral are soul-less, icy, and barely even worthy of being called living beings.

However, mali'aheral, like all other elves, are simply people. They respond positively to good things, and negatively to bad. They struggle to find a balance between emotion and reason as all sentient beings do. They have friends and family who they defend with their lives, in your society, as in all societies, there is good.

Despite all this my disdain towards Sohaer Kalenz is a publically known fact I cannot mask. Although it was always my intent to live in isolation from the mali'aheral. Perhaps attempting to shut myself out of contact with the high elves while in a position of power was foolish of me. Now however, after my resignation, I hope it will be possible. Either way I have no intent of creating a conflict.

Politics and war are consuming on both the body and the soul and I no longer have a heart for it. I will be opening a fletchery in Cerulin, and attempting to re-connect with my estranged family. A simpler life will hopefully put things into perspective for me in my twilight years.

With some luck, denizens of Haelun'or, this is the last you will hear of me. I turn now to the final stage of my life, seeking the luxury of living in anonymity amongst my friends and family. Perhaps your dealings with Cerulin's new Meracah'ir shall be more amiable to you. Either way I hope both nations can deal in the interest of peace.

Lamruil Alaenre nods as he reads the notice board with said proclamation, "He did the right thing in the end."

Somewhere, there is a white-haired, spectacled elf whom applauds respectfully.

"kaean'leh evareh, ame thilln'ehya,"

Asul salutes to his former enemy, and sighs. "We have created such great rifts. I only wish I could say it was worth it." To any companions whom might have come with, he would say, "Come, let us go. We shall have to create a new path for ourselves now."

With that, he turns and leaves, coat-tails flapping in the wind.

Sorry to hear that Leo. I get that sometimes we might have seemed a bit apathetic to you, and that we did in fact drive you to this OOCly, even though we tried our best to keep it IC. Sometimes, like you said, things just don't work out that way. I hope in the future your days will be a bit less stressful and you'll be able to relax.

See you soon, I hope. In better conditions, mind you.

-S.

Trundle picks up the letter and stares at it suspiciously as he reads it over several times. He throws his head upwards at the sky for a brief moment before stomping off angrily towards his tree-home.

(So, just reading the OOC part thus far, I have to say... He RPly wants you out. He's trying to make it RPly stressful for you, but you took it OOCly stressful. If he hunts you/bothers you/ tracks you afterwards, it's because of RP. Make a new character, and he'll know nothing about you, and probably would never talk to you ever again... All just RP, man, hope your grades/life get better!)

"Nice to know the fool is leaving, I never really enjoyed either him nor Kalenz yelling at one another."

((Let's not pretend here. I've personally been told by people from both sides about the ooc origin in this issue. There's a point where it stops being RP. Let's just... stop pretending this was all in fun. Please.))

Chancellor Ac'Aelu sighs at the news, shaking his head.

"You're the reason I got to be where I am, Art. The reason I joined the Ivory, the reason I met Titania, and the reason I became a Chancellor. We didn't always see eye to eye, but you've my eternal respect, llir. You're welcome over for tea or a drink anytime."

((NO more OOC guys. Chillax))

*Iatrilemar stands atop the council tower in Haelun'or, his coat sways in the gently breeze that envelopes the spire*

"He may look for peace but I doubt the retribution of the Butterfly will stop. Now it seems this one may be leaving those zealous walls that until now have sheltered his fray mind. What fortunes will find him now?"

*In another part of Athera a figure emerges from a forest. Red fiery hair dangles from a hood, laying itself over foreign robes.*

Cyrus reads a copy of the letter to himself under the shade of a tree that hangs over the edge of the walls of Haelun'or. Sunlight filters through the leaves as they rustle gently in the breeze. "Mr Akkaris..." Cyrus mumbles to himself, "Mr Camoryn... I need to speak with him..."

((Great song choice. Brings me back.))
