The Illatian People

The identity of the Illatian people came to be in the Fringian era. What once was a primitive military tribe of the Nicatorii, enhanced and progressed to be one of the most innovative people in the realm. Over time they learned the various arts the realm had to offer, and grew a strong sense for mercantilism and success. What kept the Illatian people going was the necessity to progress, to eclipse the accomplishments of their ancestors. It made the Illatian the passionate and ambitious individual that lives today, remaining true to its more refined and pompous ways.

The History:

The Illatians originated from the Subudai tribe, an ancient highly militaristic and disciplinary tribe that remained un-aligned with the flourishing empires throughout many centuries. The primitive Subudai lived under the strict rule of the Nicatorii, who isolated the tribe from the many foreign influences bordering them. The Subudai became dependent on other cultures which allow innovation to happen. This slow change created a barrier between two ways of life, being the eventual cause for the Illatian separation from the Subudai.

The exodus to the Fringe allowed the Illatians to gain their own independent foothold in the Orenian Empire. They were the laboring force for the Empire, most never reaching any kind of status. Humble workers and farmers they were, still holding true to the few Subudai principles of merit and loyalty they still carried.

Through their ages of labor, the Illatian people passed on more advanced methods. They gained certain craftsmanship in various expertises. Generations became more skilfull and wanted, giving them the ability to compete with the other people of the realm. Soon various individuals of Illatian descent found themselves recognized, one with the name of Theodosius even making the first Illatian house of Oren. This ignited the lustful flame for recognition in Illatian society.

This flame never ceased to exist. As the Fringian era came to its end, the Illatians realised how far they came. Under the banners of families like the Pallazo, Visconti & de Cordoba they proved themselves capable of achieving greater things. But their increase in pride & involvement in Oren eventually meant their decline. Their lack of trust in other cultures, who had tried to undermine the rise of Illatian political influences, caused them to become nepotist. This marked the beginning of the Illatian Dream, which made the Illatians seek independence for decades.

Many states were found by the Illatians, some of their successors existing even today. Their endeavour for sovereignty came to an end after the human race started to decline, the increase of sympathy created a path that led to the reunification of the Illatian people with Oren. Time had passed though, and the advancements made in their era of independence became remarkable among the human race.  The passionate Illatian was now a thriving and dedicated individual, enriched by the decades of tradition and history; worthy of its own chapter.

The Illatian Culture

There is a strong division among the culture between the “Aricchito” & “Semplice” , both holding steadfast to their ways of life. Although it is not much of a choice whether you live as one or another, Illatian society allows any individual to prosper or fail enough to witness their ascent or descent to the other.

The Arichitto

The Arichitto have proudly been the embodiment of Illatian success and aristocracy for centuries. This rather festive way of life was mostly shaped by the Visconti, who had received immense wealth and influence during the Fringe. Very pompous & controlled by nature, the Arichitto have separated themselves from the Semplice Illatians by trying the finer things in life, most never have learned of the concept of labor.

Principles & Beliefs
Fedeltà -“Loyalty”

What separates the Arichitto from most aristocracies, is that they have learned throughout the ages that undying loyalty in a just cause is the key to success and a legacy. The youth learn to stay loyal to their family & country and take pride in being apart of it. What the definition of a just cause is in their eyes, is a subject of change.

Celebrazione - “Celebration”

Life is not eternal, and the Arichitto believe that they must celebrate it by feasting on their success. You have lived no life, if it wasn’t a happy one. It is this principle that teaches the Illatian individual to have passion, solace and belief in what it does. The good or remembered things in life should be celebrated in grandeur and at its fullest, the regret is for the dead.

Filosofia - “Philosophy”

Reading the finer print in life would give, according to the Illatians, enrichment in mind and soul. In the peaceful yet celebrative lives of those in the Arichitto, finding your purpose and explaining the unexplainable is a daring yet amusing task. It is believed that practicing this ‘art’ , it would make the mind stronger and enriched.

Arichitto Romanticismo

The Romanticisation of society and theology is a domineering presence in the ways of Arichittic life.  A mixture of celebrative and enriched principles caused the people to witness and portray the world around them in their own refined method.

Romanticismo is the analytic description of the methods for the individual to express, which is often passionate and sincerely honest. Even the use of the tongue should be as artistic and ‘romantic’ as possible. Many individuals in the Arichitto follow this method of expression, but are often considered dramatic or emotional to the foreign witnesses. Dramatic portrayal of situations or events are considered healthy as it would indicate a healthy state of mind and emotion.

Happenings are often portrayed as divine will like the passage of an Illatian or the defeat of a war. Although the Illatian philosophy often contradicts church canonism, the presence of a Creator is never a subject of debate. A divine presence is often found on many Illatian artworks.

An individual of the Arichitto would often express itself through grand festivities & happenings for his dearest, which are expected and portrayed to be eventful and sophisticated with an abundance of beverage.  It is normal for a feast to end up with a scandal, tears or chants of joy. It is merely the burning Illatian passion in her natural habitat.

Romanticismo has a strong presence in the daily life of an Illatian. The theatrical approach towards the many obstacles one must overcome is perhaps the most remarkable example of this. Expression and passion are the two thriving factors of Romanticismo, often collaborating with the pompous usage of aristocratic goods like Palina’s and wine.

Romanticismo has a major presence in the theology of the Illatian as well. The religious Illatians strictly following Canon , but portray the divine presence in a pompous way. The representing bodies of the Creator and her respective servants are often surrounded by wealth and abundance, as the Creator would reward all who follow its holiness undoubtful with such.

This perspective on the canon church founded a whole new approach on portraying the creator. Although some may argue this is heretical, it gave the believer exterior beauty of the church to add to the interior harmony.

The Semplice

The Semplice formed the laboring foundation of the Illatian people through their exceptional craftsmanship and loyalty.  Humble by nature, they believe that freedom and productivity is the key to success. They would so such, where the Arichitto would fantasize about.

Principles & Beliefs
Lavoro - “Labor”

One must overcome obstacles through hard work, only then inner harmony can be found. This principle is what made the Illatians gain expertise on various craftsmanships, and thrive even in their darkest moments. Throughout centuries of work they have obtained a taste for finesse and quality, which defined the Illatian ways immensely.

Unità - “Unity”

The Semplice have found strength through working for the collective interests of them all. Offering the helping hand when able is a common thing among the laboring class, and has made these Illatians selfless in a way. The very survival of the Illatian people can be thanked to the strong unity they had throughout the times.

Ordine - “Order”

Although freedom is an unwritten principle among the Semplice, it is well known what catastrophe a lawless society would bring. They believe and obey the law and hierarchy, trusting that safety and order will be provided in return. This could be considered naive, but after generations of unstable Illatian reign it is a comfort to have trust.

Semplice Universalismo

The Universalismo philosophy believes that the Individual must find inner harmony with itself, dismissing the Romanticismo doctrine of giving importance to exterior beauty. The laboring class of the Illatians were not surrounded by beauty, so they created it themselves in simple form.

Universalismo was originally a political form support by the Illatian peasantry during the first Illatian Monarchy in the North, it would provide universal progress and provision to all individuals equally. Throughout time it had evolved into a lifestyle where it was believed that beauty could not be materialised, but could only be found through the emotional states the human experiences.

Semplice art often portrays humble beauty and sticks to what is actually there. This down-to-earth approach is also present in the mindset of the Universalismo. There should be no need to compensate a certain emptiness with adding a fictional presence to art and your life.

Happenings are often portrayed as an inevitable mistake or the Creator’s will, though the Semplice try to obtain knowledge from the past. They do not remember and celebrate it as the Arichitto do, but move forward to accomplish new things.

An individual of the Semplice express himself through his labor, and endures his passionate fury silence. The accomplishment would speak louder than the voice, which could potentially damage to well being of the people hold dear. Festivities are often humble, practical with the amount of goods and time taken into consideration.
