The Second High Chancellery

A Gathering is called in Cerulin, calling forth the Mali'ame to the city's center. It is here that the High Chancellor Ac'Aelu awaits, eyes scanning the crowd before he begins to speak.

"I've never had the charisma of some of those who have led before me, so I'll leave this short. It has been decided in a vote, initiated by myself, that my time as the High Chancellor has concluded. I will move down to hold the position of Guildmaster, and the Meracah'ir, Tristin Tresery, will be my replacement.

The position of the High Chancellery is, above all, that of the politician. It is he who watches outward while the rest look inward. This is why I called to appoint Tristin in my stead.

When I took this mantle, the world was still a very different place. I believe that I did the role justice, but as the tides of Athera change, I know that I will not be the best for the job. Our fate lies not with that of Fiandria, not anymore.

Tristin is the best man for the job, as it changes. I know he will do us all proud.

That is all, my lliran."

Dwyn hums softly to himself, nodding to the change. The man is not upset by his loss of position in the least.

Lori reflects on the appointment.

"'es 'ah pretteh decent bloke with very good values regardin' da' 'oodlem problem 'n elven lands. On da' other 'and 'e was 'ittin' 'n meh feckin' daughter."

Astrid shoves Lori's shoulder, face flushed in embarrassment. "No Da, shush!"

A blonde woman watches from the back of the crowd silently, nodding to herself with a faint smile upon her face.

Trundle frowns upon hearing the news. "What is this? Why has Dwyn been forced out of his position as Guildmaster, and what event inspired this whole change?"

Elros thinks the news over. "It may be for good or ill, but hopefully for good."

"Dwyn, of his own will, opted to step down in order to pursue a time of peace with his family. After all he's been through, I don't blame him. There is no disgrace associated with his name, but rather respect for how he's helped us."
