Welcome to Vailor!

After a few hours of delays we’ve finally managed to get the map and plugins up and running on the server. We’re sorry for any inconvenience that the downtime and ocean map may of caused but sadly it couldn’t be helped.

Firstly I believe we all (Admins/GMs/Devs) owe you an explanation as to why it took so long. There have been many rumors flying around, and as rumors go they’re not completely true. Due to a miscommunication between the GMs, Admins, and Devs, we were under the impression that we would be able to transfer without Kowaman’s help. It was only after the event was finished that we were informed we couldn’t and as Kowaman had informed us prior, he was away for the evening. This should have been planned around because obviously real life first, but it wasn’t and that was our fault. We’ll be taking steps in the future to ensure this never happens again.

With this new map comes many new plugins in the forum of a nexus patch:

  • PvP has been rebalanced. Enchants have been nerfed and OP weapons are being rebalanced. Diamond armor has been removed completely.

  • The vault plugin has entered post-move mode for moderators, this means we’ll be sorting through each chest to make sure nothing bad has slipped past the blacklist.

  • Territories are potentially has been released which is the new and improved region plugin based on worldguard. Currently the region grid is still in development so this isn’t implemented quite yet but expect it in the coming weeks. Keep a look out for future updates on this!

  • Mina drops on mobs is being tested as a way to improve the economy, we’ll be looking for feedback on this in a few weeks into the map when everyones used to it. Dev wants to do testing to make sure the server can handle it so we’ll keep our fingers crossed and see. We’ll put a post up later depending on how the testing goes.

  • A bunch of new tweaks, bug fixes and so on.

Along with these new plugins comes a load of new policies and other changes which will be released over the next week or so, these include:

  • New war system and raid rules suited to this map.

  • A charter system which will be how guilds and non-nations settlements get land along with how nations will expand themselves.

  • The wiki will be going under major changes to make it more friendly towards new players.

Finally we have some systems implemented from the release of the map which are as follows:

  • Mines will be immediately available once the map is released.

  • There will be a special island specifically used to get resources such as trees and clay coming out in the next couple days so that nations can collect materials.

  • Everything except the mines and resource island is regioned to not allow freebuild.

  • One week white peace between all factions, this means no war or raids.

  • Nation leaders have been provided with twelve double chests of building supplies to kick-start their capitals. They should modreq when they require the chests.

Big thanks to all who helped develop the map and plugins. We hope you enjoy the map as much as we will, we’ll be releasing a list of our goals for the map soon enough for the sake of clarity between staff and the playerbase.

A big mistake to not allow freebuild. But at least we have the map.

did you even go to the free build of the wilds in athera... *shudders*

I still get flash backs to the cobblestone-sailed boats in an enclosed lake...

This rebalancing is NOT needed on bows. It went from 50% max at legendary to 30ish% legendary max. My highest is 33%. Bows were only OP with enchants, the percents didn't do that much of a difference, due to how much slower they were than melee weapons.
