Flamenism, Not Lucienism

A thesis to grappling with the differences between a Canonist school of thought, and religious backed aggression. Written by Acolyte Aemolius Lepidus Bracchus on the 9th of Sun’s Smile, 1516,  following claims both are the same. Copies are explicitly sent to anyone willing to receive them, and handed to those will to take them.

It was a year ago to this day I published my first, Flamen work.

This work came not originally from my subscription to the school of thought, but the outrage of what I perceived was a lack of retribution towards those who would put my faith to the sword.

Though action became unnecessary with the internal pressure that warped Orcish society after, I began to see the demure nature of our church. Not that it is bad to be reserved, but there is a time where one’s voice must be used, and his sword to begin swinging. Thought my focus has been on these two things, the Flamens do this to promote the protection of the church, hence my pleading for militancy; these militants may be used to better used to better protect both the church and laity.

Some are quick to denounce this, but why? What is lost in a more able church?

With shield and sword, the servants of GOD not only find themselves armed to defend, but to offer holy justice by way of retribution. This was apparent when a priest was attacked in Orcish deserts, when the faithful were slain in the sporadic, chaotic raids in  the wake of the mad remnants of the Camel Bandits, and even more recently in the case of the de Sola raid on the trial held against Xavier de Sola.

Whilst we rage against these security issues though, it seems we are bitten in them back anytime we choose to face off against them. How so? By the degradation of our name via sedition. Sedition that comes in the form of relating us only to St. Lucien, and trying to revoke the identity we have established with both creating our name and thought.

Flamens take their name from fire; a symbol of purity, power, and presence without quantity, much like the very nature of God.

Our interest is not to rage on in support of anything but the church, and the faithful, protecting these both with a shield, and backing them also with sword. Unlike St. Lucien, we do not strive for the supremacy of humanity, rather, the growing of the strength and ability of the church.

My father himself begged the High Pontiff prior to his ascension to forgive the ignorance of the Elves, and to instead, reassert efforts to incorporate and include them into our faith. I myself asserting the importance of the laity, and its need to expand into all races.

It makes me wonder why some would feel the need to associate us with he who’s persecuted those of other faiths, and not with a squire who’d defend his lord.

The necessity of force is spelt out every day, and every night. We seen the slaughter brought in front of Father Edmond of Eastcliff the beginning of this very Saints day, and one can only wonder what would have happened if our call for men to aid the church militarily was to be heeded. Perhaps the slaughter would have only expanded, or perhaps we would have seen the lives of several noblemen spared, and that of the excommunicated Xavier still in our hands and to do what with.

Almost ironically, we feel attacked by those who follow the other schools of thought, and are actively and willfully ignoring the good we can bring because of the sedition put out against us. We pray to put bring power to the faithful, and we pray that we succeed.

We pray even moreso that you continue to look at us as brothers, and not enemies.
