        Domestic- With the recent rise in population China, the Chinese government has begun lowering housing taxes in an attempt to raise the quality of life of the Chinese populace. Billionaire Shi Han has begun construction of several mega apartments in downtown Hong Kong.

       

            Religion- China begins talks with the muslims in the Western Provinces to make right the wrongs of the communist forces against them while The UCR also begins massive humanitarian aid projects in the Muslim regions of China. President Shi says in a speech to the muslim delegation. "Too long have the muslims of China been ostracized, too long have you are brothers been treated unjustly. We are all brothers and sisters of China we may worship different gods, we may speak different languages but we are all Chinese. We will rebuild and forge a legacy together my brothers and sisters. We are China."

 

             Economic- China sells 100,000 tons of their gold stockpile on the international market drastically reducing the cost around the globe. Also China implements new zoning laws in many coastal allowing new industrial areas to spring up and provide jobs in the major cities. While self starter Ling becomes a dominant force in the chinese shipping industry controlling docks from Hong Kong to Beijing. The growth of the Chinese military and economy has also led to the formation of a thriving arms industry in the United Chinese republic. Chinese investors have now started operations in South Afirca pumping millions of dollars of revenue into the country.

Infrastructure- With the Chinese infrastructure nearly rebuilt China begins to next wave of bridges and dams to provide easier transportation and electricity to the Western Provinces particularly tibet.

　

        

        Freedom- China under president Shi decriminalizes all drugs, as well as completely legalizes marijuana. Possession of all drugs will no longer be addressed as a crime but with be addressed in Civil courts. Distribution however will still result in sentencing. China also introduced a clean needle program to prevent the spread of diseases from the use of dirty needles. To grow or sell marijuana a license must be obtained from the ministry of agriculture distribution or growing of marijuana will result in a fine.

　

Education- With the recent reforms of the Chinese Education system Chinese students now posses the skills to succeed in the global market. Still most Chinese do not attend higher education past primary school and join directly into the workforce.

 

                 Law and Order- President Shi extends the charter of the Chinese federal police to include intelligence operations as well as establishes a permanent headquarters for their operations in Hong Kong and a secondary headquarters in Beijing.

 

 

             Science- China begins cooperative military research with the Indian and Russian governments. China also repeals legislation banning research into stem cells. President Shi says in a press conference. "To deny the medical gains that this research could provide the Chinese people is not only stupid by wrong. I spoke to a child the other day who had broken his back while in the crib, doctors told him he will never walk again.. " Shi pauses looking down towards the podium then up again. "I promised myself I will do whatever I can to get not only that child to walk again but any child that has suffered as he has. This research is that child's key to walking again. Thank you people of China."

 

 

                   Military- China begins repairing all damaged vessels from before the civil war and retrofits them with the modern equipment provided by the Indian and Russian governments. While the Chinese ministry of defense begins issuing defense contracts to construct jets based on the Indian HAL AMCA's . China also begins equipping its famed commandos, The Shadows, with domestically produced SCAR platform .308 rifles for its standard rifle men while other roles are allowed to chose their own weaponry. All Shadows are provided with the Best Modern equipment the Chinese military can provide. In the past the Chinese military has been based on its superior numbers but the Chinese joint command now has begun to push for quality over quantity. New recruits are put under one of the rigorous training regimes in the world and are trained to respond to any situation. At the same time China begins reinforcing the DMZ on the Chinese/ North Korean border and has begun to construction of bunkers and radar towers along the coast.

 

Popular culture- A video of a Chinese college student catching his own fart on fire goes viral across China and becomes the stuff of legend. In unrelated news hospitals are seeing an influx of burns to the rectal region.

A young new prime minister of Canada has been elected, he has successfully gained 60% of the seats in the house of commons making him a majority government.

An encrypted email is sent to Washington State, Oregon, California, California, Nevada, and Arizona it speaks in high regard to the western political attitudes of the five states. Border control security is dropped significantly between Washington state and BC, legislations have been proposed to allow anyone with a passport and drivers license from the five states to work for a period no longer than two years without the need for a formal visa. The email also asks for a similar legislation be put in place for these states to free relations with them as much as possible. The Canadian legislation is set to take place within the year.

Ghana's economy falters as the price of gold, one of its main exports, plummets. As such, production is halted, and instead, Ghana begins to focus on harnessing the quantities of uranium within her borders and within Nigeria. They hurriedly set about doing this before their economy can plummet too far. As they begin to harness a new natural resource, Ghana begins to finish construction on their existing infrastructure for nuclear power plants, not waiting for foreign investors.

 

Ghanaian troops begin to attempt to lock down Algerian military sects, and restore some semblance of order in an attempt to prepare the nation for offers of vassalisation or becoming a province within Ghana through initial peaceful measures.

 

Ghana also outlaws homosexuality, and declares that homosexuals will be put to death by firing squad. Within the large Catholic population within and surrounding Ghana, this new law gains popular support, and even the support of Muslim populations in surrounding nations.

 

As bullets are not deemed to be a long term way of dealing with the homosexual issue, Ghana begins researching more effective ways of eliminatiing large numbers of people at a time via use of chemicals. With homosexuals as their trial specimens, Ghana begins researching various ways of delivery for chemical weapons, and to secure the most potent forms possible.

The European Federation

 

 

With the passing the negotiations with France and Portugal the European Federation grew with the two countries joining in and the European Parliament having to expand. With the addition of France joining the European Federation surrendering its autonomy the European Federation as its successor state joins the UN Security Council as a permanent member thus ensuring that hundreds of millions of peoples views are represented on the world stage. It wouldn't be long until all remaining nations in Europe rely on the European Federation.

 

The French and Portuguese Military are absorbed into the European Federal Military allowing the Military power to dramatically increase along with its already enormous economic power. With France joining the already massive automotive industry Germany had increases with German Companies managing to buy out the French Companies to absorb them during the peaceful annexation. After much talks with the Nation of Greece a defensive and economic pact is made forming a new league of power in the region with the leaders from Poland, Germany, France and Portugal all promising to represent the Greek and Balkan peoples views in the UN as a permanent member on the Security Council. This alliance is known as the Hellenic-Euro League. 

 

Greek and Balkan companies that are large enough to be traded on the stock market now register themselves at the stock exchange at Frankfurt and begin trading in Frankfurt which continues to help Frankfurt become the economic capital of Europe. Germany sends professors to Greece and the Balkans to teach at universities at the request of the Nation of Greece so that everyone in Europe might get a good education.

State of Israel

 

 

Aharon Mordechai Rokeach steepled his hands together, his brow down lofted as his wrinkled visage skimmed over the papers that his advisers had laid out before him.  His jaw clenched as he lilted a hand upwards to ring his pe'ot about his index finger. "Feh! That faygala Yair - I'll throttle that shmegegge!" He screamed slamming a fist down onto the desk. "Those good-for-nothings in the Knesset - liberals?! That washed-up shtik drek was a damned REPORTER! They'd have us by the Arabs!" His upper lip quivered in rage as he beckoned his Minister of Interior, Adon Roy Kamry, over to his side. "Shut it down - they've no right to command the religious authority in Yisrā'el."

 

Israel was reeling from a liberal takeover in the recent parliamentary election. While Aharon Mordechai Rokeach, an Ultra-Orthodox Hasidic Rabbi, managed to maintain his iron-fisted hold on the seat of Prime Minister - a large number of seats in the Knesset fell to Yesh Atid, with Yair Lapid incumbent as Leader of the Opposition. Unrest in the Knesset had reached an all-time high, with heated debates a daily spectacle between Yahadut HaTora HaMeuhedet and Yesh Atid. Yet, even with this relative victory for the left, the military remained firmly in the control of Prime Minister Rokeach. And this, he used to his advantage.  Adon Roy Kamry entered into the Knesset with Yaham at his back, and all members of the Leftist Coalition in Knesset in attendance, including Yair Lapid, were brought into custody on the basis of political dissidence and treason against the State of Israel.

 

 

 

In the south, meanwhile, a concentration of Israeli Defense Forces amassed on the northern border with the Gaza Strip. At the behest of the Prime Minister, Chief of Staff, Gadi Eizenkot, plans were put into place for the complete annexation of Gaza to put an end to the constant menace of rocket attacks by Hamas. Four separate divisions, a total of seventy thousand soldiers, have been deployed in preparation for invasion.

 

A division is also deployed north to Lebanon, to silence dissent from secessionists in the face of the recent annexation of the fledgling country at the whim of the former Prime Minister, Adon Roy Kamry. Riots are put down with a liberal amount of brutality, and the death toll gradually continues to rise.

Republic of Spain

 

Spain, a beautiful land filled with women, wine, and culture. Everything seemed calm, laid back even. But not was all as it seemed to the public eye. A multi-party system government, it was diverse and fractured. Historically secessionist provinces like Catalonia and Navarre had been gaining more and more seats as their population grows. Rubbing shoulders with these radicals was the religious group known as the 'Mano de Dios'. They had the backing of the rural people, always and always will be devote catholics. The organized Spanish church backed them, and helped bribe members of Mano de Dios into the government. Stern allies of the godly men was the army, conservative to the bone. That could be said for the officers at least, many soldiers were also young visionaries. Communist had a huge standing in the people of the city and factories, along with the common man. They were in an alliance to counteract the conservatives, with the anarchist and socialist.

 

All this powder has been fit into a nation sized keg, just waiting for a spark. Thankfully, Spain was not a land of complete idiots. People could see the value in a republic. Those same people could also see values in an end to it as well. It was on the fence, a nation of people scared and confused. Some took advantage of that, picking up and oh so subtle undercurrents. They manipulated and guided, moving their factions into power. Other men however were more godly, more human. 

 

Men like president Martin Garcias, moderates who upheld the Republic's ideals and values. Every party could agree on one thing with Mr. Garcias, he was a good spaniard. That saying itself was open to interpretation, and so was his true allegiance. He made the presidency however by following no one party. He worked with every party, and tried to reach goals with everyone. His victory was narrow however, and his biggest opponent was Miguel Fernandez, an army general and member of the catholic church. Fernandez left Spain in disgust at the elections, to his estates in the Canary Isles.

 

Garcias has recently gained a following, large enough to gain seats in parliament. Los Españoles were a party of moderates who were nationalist to the bone. They wanted to see the Republic remain alive, and run the way it was meant to be. They were the less quarrelsome party, and always tried for compromise. Mano de Dios and other members often respected them, but were reluctant to work with the presidents party. Most factions pushed for their own goals, and power within their party. Some cities were armed camps, some provinces were festering with rebellion and anarchist. It was all so bad, yet Spain had hope.

Martin sighed and rubbed his temples. In his humble office, a few minutes walk from the palace. The room was sheeted in burnished copper, and decorated sparsely. Not much would catch the eye, besides a U.S law school diploma, antique revolver, pictures of his beautiful wife, the large leather backed chair Martin sat in, and Martin himself. He was young and eager, only thirty. Standing at six nine, his prematurely grey hair and striking black eyes were quite attractive. He was not strong, but had a wiry presence to him. His true traits were force of character and an intelligent standing. Standing before him was his once friend and vice president Panzo. 

 

"Mr president, parliament just held a session. Half way in the socialist got into a shouting match with the army. The session was ended when they both stormed out. Reports say afte-"

 

"That'll certainly be enough, Panzo" Martin cuts him off with his deep baratone voice.

 

"We can try to fix one thing at least, mend the pain between the two."

 

Leaning back and folding his hands, Martin glances at the revolver. Giving a slight shake of his head, he continues.

 

"Open up the army for recruitment, try to appeal to the common man, and all the liberal parties. We'll need communist and anarchist -though I hate to say it- to cool the armies heads. At the very least it'll cause a split that we can use to our advantage."

 

Long hours go on, as Martin subtly manipulates the parliament. He keeps an open appearance in public, and is indeed genuinely so. However he is a Spaniard, and will do the best for the country and it's people, not one single faction or government. His orders begin to worm their way through the system, including;

 

The army begins to recruit more heavily on younger men and liberals, drawing in a different crowd.

 

Social programs increase, trying to educate the people of Spain separate from the churches teaching.

 

Cities start to gain liberties for all classes, in an attempt to ease tensions.

-Canada receives a large influx of tourists from the Northwest of The United States, mostly Idaho, Washington and some Oregon residents.

 

-In Ghana, some tribal groups request they be made Federal Reserves to govern themselves so that they might preserve their culture. Mostly Muslim tribes in recently acquired Nigeria and Togo

 

-There is a huge public outcry over the ban of Homosexuality in Ghana by liberals and humanitarians.

 

-Homosexuals and Humanitarians begin to flee Ghana, and many foreign investors and foreign based companies pull out of Ghana, not wanting to be sanctioned or suffer business losses

 

-Portugal and France officially join the European Federation as semi-autonomous states and benefit greatly by the German economy, while the state of Poland begins manufacturing on a large scale for many of the Federations corporations.

 

-Jews in Israel rejoice as corruption is expunged and Lebanon is mostly civil but for some radical groups. They mostly are forced to leave the country, and many Muslims actually embrace Judaism in recently build Orthodox Temples.

 

-Spanish ranks swell slightly as do many small conservative businesses seeking to bolster the Spanish economy. People begin to work hard, motivated by their leader.

 

-Many Pro-Catholic groups begin to charter private schools, for those still seeking a religious education so they do not cause Government issue. They are mostly founded on start up money from Churches and donations.

John Terry calls together the collective  states that are willing to secede from the United States. They have had enough of the United States. A meeting is held to discuss the infrastructure of the Western Commonwealth.

Foreign

 

Messages are sent to the Republic of Spain and the European Federation asking from them to back the Western Commonwealth when they decide to secede.    

 

 

Military 

5,000 of the best nation guardsmen loyal to the Commonwealth are selected to undergo extensive physical, mental, and marksmen training.

 

2,000 men are sent to seize Area 51 and all of its research. The main target research they are trying to steal is the Railgun research information. Acquiring this tech would be a huge boost for the Commonwealth.
