Those of us signed below hereby petition the Inner Council of Salvus to be purged in its entirety, on account of incompetence and neglection.  

Since our arrival in Vailor, Salvus has fallen to lowers than any in its past. Our leaders have failed to properly do the duties of their stations, and our current government is broken beyond measure

As a result of incompetence and neglect, Salvus has fallen to , in objectively, the worst surviving state in all terms including Population, Economic Strength, and Martial Ability.

-The Republic of Salvus formally responds to this petition.-

 

 

 

"The Republic of Salvus hears the concerns of its people. Its citizens, both Inner Chambermen, workers, militarymen, Bard's and scholars alike can acknowledge and recognize the Republic's shortcomings. Inner Chamber men who have failed to do their duties have been held accountable and been removed by decision of other Inner Chambermen.

 

This includes the Aedile, whom by reason of dual citizenship and failure to fully dedicate themselves to the causes of the Republic. Alongside the Aedile, the Praetor was removed for failure to complete duties and proactively work to expand and establish the Peacekeepers on a strong foundation. 

 

With this, a new Aedile and Praetor will be chosen to assure Salvus may establish beneficial foreign relations alongside assuring its people's safety. 

 

The Republic also addresses the Tribune position and has re-evaluated its duties. The Tribune is meant to represent the people and the Republic of Salvus will formally describe the duty of the position, along with all other positions. 

Following these changes, the Republic recently had a People's Republic Forum made for all its citizens to attend and where it heard its people's concerns. 
 

Major concerns with the status of the Republic were its foreign relations, building, economy, taxes, military, farmers treatment, and representation of its people. 

To address these concerns, as stated previously, the Aedile and Praetor are being removed and new representatives are being selected to move the Republic towards its final goal of enlightenment.

 

The economy is being reworked to focus on a contract system along with streamlining of the creation of businesses and leaving those business in the hands of the people to create a more driven and competitive economy where Salvian businesses are favored in source selection. With all of these economic reforms, the Republic will be officially abolishing the Syndicate.

 

With building the Republic, if unable to provide enough architects and builders, will outsource and outreach for foreign building contracts in order to complete the Republic's building at a satisfactory pace. This will allow the Republic to provide more homes for its people and more shops for its businesses.

 

To address the issue of farmers treatment, a bridge is being built to the farmer's island, a contract is being written to pay the companies and companies will be in charge of paying its employees as to delegate more leadership to the companies themselves.

 

With taxes the Inner Chamber has decided that it is necessary to tax its people within the Inner City at a rate of 200 minas per elven week and within the Outer City a rate of 100 minas per elven week. Companies will be taxed at a rate of 10% with a bare minimum of 100 per elven week.

 

Regarding the representation of the people, the Republic's Inner Chamber is elected to best protect the ideals of enlightenment through each positions respective duties. The Tribune is the position that directly represents the people's view and will support all legislation and provide a vote within the Inner Chamber in support of the legislation. The Tribune will be providing a document that will lay out how legislation will be provided for the Inner Chamber to hear and will work directly with the people to best represent the legislation so it may be passed.

 

The Outer Chamber will also be reestablished, operating as a forum for Sentinels, Business Owners and Guild Heads to express their concerns in an open meeting for discussion and multiple views.

The Republic will be providing a second proclamation which completely details these reforms and changes."
