The sky grew darker as the town peered at the murky depths of the river a single crevasse delving down into the uknown, yet it was not empty. Many Hobbit folk said it had five heads, others claimed it to be over 50 feet long, yet all had agreed that something dangerous lived beneath in the river, and it had begun to grow restless.

 

Halflings who wander the night are never seen again; their bodies missing, and days later their bones wash on the banks of the shore picked clean. Paranoia wreaks havoc throughout the village and many Halflings are left in fear of the unknown, their worst fear being they will go to sleep for a last time.
