Body Type/Facial build: Body build is thin and tall, although his arms and legs do have some muscles from regularly exercising. His face is smooth and average for an elf, although he is quite handsome. He has high cheekbones and a smooth lawline, while his chin is a little pointed.

 

Eyes: Left eye is a light blueish-grey colour. However, the other eye is stitched up and covered by a scar due to a fight that occurred during his past. The shape of his eyes are slanted a little and his eyebrows are average shaped. His eye seems to be filled with kindness and politeness, but coldness and hatred can be seen at times.

 

Hair: His hair is a snowy white colour and feels soft to touch. His hair is styled so that the fringe covers the right side of his face. The length is up to his shoulders and the back of his hair is spiky.

 

Skin: White and pale.

 

Markings/Scars/Tattoos: Zephyris has no tattoos or markings on his body. However, he does have a scar that seals his right eye from an event during his past.

 

Health: Zephyris is in good health. However, he is deaf in both ears due to an ear infection that grew out of hand and eventually took his hearing at the age of seven. Throughout his life, his father taught him how to read lips and how to understand sign language. Eventually, he mastered the two, although he cannot read a Kha or an orc’s lips and that he needs the person to be facing him at all times

Personality: At first glance, Zephyris is a polite, gentle and quite intelligent elf. Whenever he meets someone, he is very polite and likeable, he will even explain to someone that he is deaf and he apologises if he did not hear them. Since he holds a love for reading and gaining knowledge, he is quite intelligent and knows quite a good deal of things. Most of all, he seemly doesn’t judge one by their race, skin colour, disabilities, etc. Instead, he acts polite and welcoming to them, greeting them with a warm smile. He is someone who can be easy to trust and rely on.

However, that is merely a mask, an act. Behind it, he is someone not to to underestimate due to his deafness. He holds a cunning yet dark heart, often manipulating people to achieve his goals, or just to screw around with people. He believes all are just like his parents: weak and willing to abandon their children, family, and friends for one person. Although very calm, he holds a very strong temper. He will show no mercy to anyone who tries to harm an innocent or a friend of his, whether by hand or by sword. He is someone who doesn’t keep grudges and tends to forgive one after a day or two, knowing that grudges will just hold him back.

Special Skill(s):

• Lipreading - Due to being deaf, Zephyris’ father taught his son how to read lips so that he could understand what someone is saying to him. It took him five years to master the art, although he still cannot read Kha or Orc lips. He also struggles to read any language aside from common.

• Sign language - Additionally, Zephyris was taught how to use sign language and how to understand it. His father taught him, just in case he needed to understand a mute. He cannot sign out any languages aside from common.

• Alchemy - Zephyris has proven to be quite the expert at Alchemy, mostly due to being taught by his father. He doesn’t charge one for his services, and he is always willing to hand out his potions to help others.

 

Flaw(s):

• Deaf - Due to being fully deaf, Zephyris struggles to talk to people ESPECIALLY if their backs are turned. He is unable to hear when someone is in danger or if someone is calling out to him, often leading to the caller thinking that Zephyris is ignoring them when he isn’t.

• Cooking - Zephyris is very horrible at cooking, to the point where he can manage to burn a salad. Zephyris has tried many times to learn how to cook but he seems to fail at cooking badly.

 

Weaponry

Fighting Style: Zephyris’ battle style revolves around the usage of Alchemy potions that can cause damage or effects when someone is hit with them. These include potions that cause burning, frostbite, and so on. He mostly uses range but once his opponent is close to him, Zephyris will resort to using his sword. When using his sword, he will normally aim for the arms or legs in order to cripple his opponent. From there, he may proceed to kill or torture the opponent.

Archery: Zephyris has quite a talent for using bows and crossbows, mostly due to his good accuracy and aiming.

History

Birth and deafness

Zephyris was born within Athera to Ser Dorian and Zinina Naromis within the outskirts. There, he grew a happy childhood with the two of them, although he grew an especially close bond with his father. His father taught him Alchemy, fencing, and many other things. Zinina taught him how to read, how to look after himself and so on.

However, by the age of 10, Zephyris lost his hearing completely due to an ear infection in both ears. His father was supportive and helpful to Zephyris, teaching him how to read lip movements properly and how to use sign language, thus bringing the two closer. The two continued their lessons until Zephyris just about got the hang of the skills five years later.  The trio lived together as a perfectly normal family.

 

The change

When Zephyris was 16, Lisanna was born. His parents turned their attention to his sister, leaving him alone within the shadows. At first, he didn’t mind, often staying within his room, studying. However, overtime, his heart grew deeper with bitterness towards his sister Pain bulged deeply in his heart whenever his parents ignored him, he felt alone and scared. Soon this bitterness, pain, and loneliness grew into anger, hurt, and isolation... and into these emotions came pure hatred, despair, and corruption. His parents ignored him more and more, to the point where they barely even knew he was in the room. That had caused his heart to change, and his mind with it. Zephyris grew colder, hateful, and selfish. Yet his mind developed into more cunning, manipulative, and tactical. Eventually, he decided to end his sister and his parents.

 

The passing

It was on that Deep Cold night that twenty two year old Zephyris headed down into the living room to carry out his plan. Ser Dorian had left the house for a few hours as he was meeting with a few fellow Alchemists on discussing a new possible potion, so they were left alone with their mother. By the time night had fallen, Zephyris made his way down to the underground segment of the house, where his sister and mother’s rooms were. In his hand he held a gleaming knife, his heart beating faster with adrenaline. First, he went to his sister, who was awake. He entered her room with a polite smile, telling her he thought he heard something and came to check up on her. Then, he went for her.

As he sliced her down, he felt pleasure flooding into him. Relief, the feeling of not being alone, and tranquility met him as the blade cut into her flesh again and again.

Zinina had heard the commotion the two made and went to investigate. What met her was a blood-drenched room with Zephyris stood in the middle, a rather satisfied glint written within his cold eyes. Lisanna laid dead on the floor, with a slit through and multiple injuries. His mother stood over her, knife held in hand. Zephyris cursed his deafness greatly, knowing that problem had stopped him from hearing his sister’s screaming for help. In an outburst of rage, Zephyris ran forward to pin his mother down. A fight broke out between the two, which led to Zephyris losing his eye in the process, but he had the upperhand. It was then that Zephyris forcefully driven the blade through his mother’s head. The woman shuddered to a halt and Zephyris got to his feet, and saw his father at the door.

He was about to go and finish his father also, but it was the fear, pain, and guilt that was within his father’s eyes that stopped him. The man closest to him was in pain, and that was enough for Zephyris.

“It starts with abandonment… which is then followed by pain, and ends with everlasting hate… Remember that, father… remember how you created the darkness within me...”

Without another word, Zephyris turned and fled from the house, unable to hear his father break down with despair. However, due to his injuries, Zephyris fell unconscious by a river, where a pair of  travellers found him within the woods and helped him to the nearest village where his wounds were treated.

 

During Athera

After the murder, Zephyris remained within the village, feeding them the story that he was attacked by his father who was drunk and abusive. The villagers took pity on him and allowed him to stay, helping him recover. His eye could not be saved and he had the socket stitched up. Zephyris did not mind. For the next twenty years he served as the librarian and alchemist for the village, although he did harm some of the travellers that came to keep his urge of wanting to feel the same emotions he felt during his first kill. Using his cunning and manipulation, he managed to lure the villager’s suspicions away from him by simply being the poor deaf elf that can’t help himself.

 

Valior

In 1513, Zephyris joined many others as they fled from Athera and to Valior. During this time, he met with a young dark elf named Ninive, who was muted. It’s unknown if Zephyris truly does care for her or not, or what plans that the elf has for her. Zephyris came to the nation of Aeroch’Nor, becoming the librarian there and to carry out what he does. However, sitting at the tavern one peculiar day has led to a turn of events for Zephyris.
