History

Eden's life began dull. He was raised on a farm a few miles south of Felsen. After turning seventeen, Eden began to look for work outside of working the farm. After doing some mercenary work, he was skilled in swordsmanship. By the age of twenty six, he was a built man with an experience in fighting. While out on a job in search for a thief,

Born of Claws, and Dirt.

Out on a job in search for a thief,  Eden had been tracking him for a week by the time he reached a small forest known for its popularity within hunters. He set his sword against a tree, kneeling down at a boot print in the damp mud. He squinted his eyes, observing the marks left by the thief. The boot prints were close together, as if he had been running. Eden slowly followed the prints until they suddenly stopped at a large log in the middle of the path. Eden slowly looked up, blood dripped from the log as he set his fingers against it, furrowing his eyebrows. Eden leaned over the log, his heart sinking as he saw a body, covered in dirt and roots and blood. The bodies lips were cold blue, the blood from the wound in its stomach finally drying up.

"This is not the work of a man..." Eden muttered, quickly turning around to return to his camp, only to be stopped by the heavy, faint breathing he would long remember. The bear stood behind a thick patch of bushes, glaring at Eden with its dark eyes. Eden remained still, slowly turning his head to his sword left on the tree. "Dammit..." He whispered, his hands slowly dropping to his side. "No point in begging, right?" He said to the bear. The bear responded with a loud, vibrating roar, before charging towards the man. As soon as the bear made its move, Eden ran for his sword, the bear moving behind him. As soon as Eden grabbed the handle of his blade, he felt a heavy force kick against his back as he fell to the ground, dirt splashing onto his face as the bears teeth sank into him, sliding him back and forth against the ground as he screamed, his sword barely in his grip. Eden kicked and wrestled as hard as he could, the bear letting go of his back for a moment. Using this as an opportunity, Eden crawled towards his sword, grabbing the hilt, and spinning around to deliver a strike, only to be met with the bears large claw, his sword spiraling into the air and off into the bushes. Its snout dug into his chest, pushing him against the trunk of a large tree, Eden punching at its eyes, but to no avail. Eden looked up the tree, his vision blurring, he swallowed his pride and opened his mouth.

"Please, God!" He screamed through the pain as the bear continued to maul him, "If you get me through this, I'll devote my life to you." He said, half in his mind and half out loud. The bear stood on its hind legs, Eden dropping to the ground, he could feel parts of his rib sink in his chest, blood dripping from his lips. The large monster glared down at him, letting out a huff of steaming breath, before returning to its stance, and running off into the thick forest. Eden sat there,  the other mercenaries wouldn't be to his camp by nightfall, and he was already miles away from it. He had two choices. Die against a tree, or die trying to return to the camp site. Attempting to stand up, Eden quickly fell back down, his legs feeling no pain. Beginning to crawl, Eden dragged himself towards the familiar way he came, floating in and out of consciousness,. "Please.." He whispered to himself, only then would his eyes close, and the world around him turned black.

It took five hours for the other mercenaries to find Eden's body. He was taken to a local town, and cared for by a doctor. After three months of healing, and physical training, Eden was walking again, The men who found him gave him the claw of the bear that attacked him, they said it had been lodged in Eden's thigh when they found him. Eden tied a string around it, and now keeps it with him to this day.

Fulfilling a Promise

Eden survived the bear attack, and he did not forget the promise he made. Perhaps it was mere chance that the bear stopped attacking him, or perhaps it was the Creator himself. Either way, Eden made a promise. And after being raised upon the morals of an honorable man, he would fulfill that promise. Eden quit the mercenary group, and traveled to Felsen where he met up with a man named Sergius de Bar, and was offered a position as a soldier in the Order of the Saint Amyas, a holy order meant to serve and protect the Creator. Eden quickly accepted, and very quickly climbed the ranks within the Order. He served in the Civil War, and is now an Officer for them. Training, and recruiting troops, he works alongside some of the bravest and noblest of men in Oren.
