http://lotc-wiki.wikidot.com/wiki:the-ancient-history <---- That story right there. That's the story that explains why the four main races are what they are. I'm posting this thread, because it's come to my attention that it's not on the current server wiki, and a lot of new players have never even heard of it. I'm not scolding anyone, but it's the foundation for all the lore on the server. It's mainly come to my attention because a lot of orc players don't know it. Again, I'm not scolding anyone. It's really not your fault if you don't know it. It's been left out of the current wiki, after all. It used to be, however, that every orc knew it IC'ly. Orcs taught it to their children, and shamans pounded it into their heads to remind them of why Krug was the best. It may actually come as a surprise to most that orcs actually do believe in the Creator. They just don't worship him.

Then it occurred to me. How many people who play as humans, elves, and dwarves are completely oblivious to the most relevant piece of racial lore on the whole server? It's not just an origin story for orcs, but for all of the four main races. It explains why humans die young; why elves are infertile; why dwarves are short and greedy; and why orcs are bloodthirsty and ugly. It also explains why orcs are so obsessed with honor; why elves live so long; why dwarves are sturdy and strong-hearted; and why humans may "walk the seven skies," and all that. So, I'm just making sure people are aware of this lore, since it's why the everything is how it is in the lotc universe. On that note, I think I'm going to start making a more IC effort to start teaching this story to orcs on my shaman character. I'm not gonna tell anyone else how to rp, though storytelling is a fun form of rp that some other players might find beneficial in helping --in some small way-- their little sub-communities on the server. I'm not expecting this to get added to the current wiki, but it'd be a smart idea.

Orcs arent ugly.

If people create half breeds of orcs, obviously someone is seeing something everyone doesn't.

No-one really knows but the Human religion takes it to mean that only Humans enter LotC's version of Heaven.

also if anyone attempts to bamboozle you by claiming this was "just the wandering wizard's interpretation" or "isn't official lore", wring their necks.

without SOME firm, stable foundation on which to base the server it becomes a disgusting bloated mess of self-serving and special snowflake lore, largely ripped from other games, and nothing of actual interest or long-term stability.

We can clearly determine that Krug was superior, and thus all that came after him.

This new wiki is hard as heck to work with... I'll quickly link the Ancient history in the main page.

[edit] I can't believe capitalising the H in history was necessary for the wiki to link to the right page...
