The Pontifical Palace of Holofernes was in a fury, opposed to its usual stoic peace. In the stairs sat mourners, come in pilgrimage to the Holy Lands and to see the body of the Vicar of God, Lucien III. Priests and laymen bustled about the grounds, conversing amongst themselves on the manner of their leader's death. He had fallen in battle, valiantly against a foe, but truly died alay in a puddle of blood (both his and orcish), his bedroom filled with the stench of death. The friar, Sancho of Veracruz, who had brought the dying zealot back to Luciensport where he could die in peace, stands above the gathered congress in the throne room. The observing clergy took their places in the seats of the court and the Pentarchs gathered to converse. The laurel of the Pontiff had been looted from Lucien by the vile Urik'Azog, a new crown would be forged for his successor.

"As we all unfortunately know, our fair Pontiff has passed. GOD must choose his successor from among you holy men. He must attain the required majority four of seven votes. We shall continue this endeavor until one of you can rise to claim the lost laurels of Horen, which our old friend wore with such dignity. Write your vote on a piece of parchment as provided and grant it to me. By the end, with GOD's help we will find his chosen Vicar."

"Speak amongst yourselves, those of you who wish to announce their candidacy, do so, DEUS MAGNUS."

Oliver clears his throat before speaking in a calm tone "Greetings my brothers, I formally wish to announce my ability to be pontiff. I am the most fit for a multitude of reasons including but not limited to the fact that I am supported by the people our blessed Church needs to once more spread the love of GOD again.

I have diplomatic experience as the Nuncio of Oren for many of years, as nuncio I both mended relations and ensured relations with Oren and it's assets were positive.

As the Archbishop of Metz I solely recruited a total of seven new acolytes, many of which went to become priests of both Metz, and other places like Savoy. I recruited a mass ammoutn of funds and actively preached, gave alms and accepted confessions daily. During my time as Archbishop I also came up with the idea of selling blessed Lorraine crosses which have brought the church a profit of Two hundred and eighty eight minas by themselves

finally I was the one trusted to give His late Holiness' last rites. May all who announce their running be blessed by GOD and may GOD's will guide all of our choices.

If accepted as High pontiff by the sacred college of the Synod I would improve papal influence and ensure our economic growth will be better along with continuing His late Holiness' wish for a more active Church."

Johannes Vos de Ruyter, Archbishop of Cistercia rises to the podium. His voice is clear and concise, cutting through all other side conversations.

"Men of GOD, salutations.

I, Johannes Vos de Ruyter, Dean of State, Archbishop of Cistercia and Pentarch of the Synod formally announce my candidacy for High Pointiff of the Church of the Canon. On this unfortunate day one of our own has fallen. However, we cannot cease to carry the word of GOD around the world and worlds beyond: The Church of the Canon will prevail in spreading His truth.

In my time with the Church, I have gained valuable experience in both the matters of Theology and Administration. I ascended to the humble position of deacon with my revolutionary thesis "Citing the Canon." This thesis is not a statement of opinion on current events based on scripture, but rather it is a practical peace of work which will be used by men and women of God all around the world until the end of time.

My time as deacon was short - His Holiness Everard the Second said that he noticed a drive in me that was potentially the future of the church. And so I rose to priest. He insisted on being my personal mentor and remained so until his unfortunate assassination, which included the death of Archbishop Adrian, who's Bishopric of Courland I was chosen to inherit despite my young age of thirty four. In Everard's time I was also elected to the Curia as Auditor of the Tribunal and to the Synod as a Pentarch.

As Pentarch of the Synod, I elected the late Pope Lucien to the Pontificate despite numerous threats from those who feared his ascent. I knew in my heart that his work ethic would save the demoralized and powerless Church of the Canon. I was correct. Chruch activity standards were strengthened and Luciensport was constructed. In his time, I was transferred from Auditor of the Tribunal to Dean of State, trusted with the gold and funds of the Church. I was also transferred from the Bishopric of Courland to the Archbishopric of Cistercia which encompasses Vandoria. This transfer of bishoprics is a statement of my trustworthiness and effective ability to govern and lead. Vandoria includes the heretic lands of the Caliphate, where the great Lucien trusted myself to convert the populace and build a lasting legacy in the land. God's word is spreading in Vandoria, and so I trust that my grand track record in the Church will lead you to the right choice for High Pointiff - myself."

Monsignor Clemens August von Pondt, aged and withered, silent with mourning advances to the ballot box.

With his wrinkled hands he places a folded piece of parchment with someone's name on it.

"God wills it."

Archbishop Jarlath of Ayr remained silent as each individual had spoken, the man was only recently placed on the Synod yet had served the Church since the days of High Pontiff Daniel, one of the few remaining alive in this day. His features were made of stone throughout the entire meeting, perhaps due to his sickly health or simply stricken with disbelief. Regardless, Jarlath rose to his feet after the first two had placed their votes, placing his own vote within the box without a word.
