The dolly zoom effect is a zoom effect created through a unique way: The camera zooms in but at the same time, the camera is physically pulled back. This effect was first used in Alfred Hitchcock's film 'Vertigo' where the main character Scottie suffers from an immense fear of heights, this effect is used to represent how Scottie feels and tries to make the audience feel as though they are suffering from Vertigo.

 

Here's a key example of the Dolly effect in Vertigo. The effect is seen every time Scottie looks down the stairs.

Just had to share this. It's my favourite effect and it's so useful! Also, I highly recommend watching Vertigo, or any other Hitchcock film if you love films. I recommend Psycho, Rear Window, and Vertigo. And this is me being a Film Studies nerd.

The scientific term for death by being sucked into a planetary black hole is 'spaghettification'. This is because the difference between the gravity being exerted on one part of your body is so much stronger than that being exerted on the rest, and your entire body is pulled into a long thin 'spaghetti noodle' of only a few millimeters in diameter. Spaghettification is also used for any other object that that happens to.
