Minecraft 1.8 Information

I think the new continent should be purely blank, like a newly discovered land or have natives on it (new race?). To get to the continent you should have to be required to go on a boat or something. Its a bit unrealistic to go "BOOM I arrive at the new continent instantly".

Ok, one, thats what happens in WoW. You know with magic? That the Ascended and the Undead have. Two, how are we going to be able to make two seperate continents when the original world goes on forever and there is not any real 'ocean' near any of the major cities to be able to channel the players. Three, how do you even make one server that supports both 1.7 and 1.8? But if you want the whole boat thing you can probably make some island FAR away from any city. That sound good, traveling through miles of untamed wilderness to cross some water to get to an island with a portal? I think it would be easier for everyone if we just had a communal portal somewhere. Think about it, with 1.8 there are spawned towns, two new biomes, and other crazy things. It would look NOTHING like the orginal continent. Again, how do you have a server with 1.7 and 1.8? I think it would be alot easier on lore and everyone else if we had a big portal and we all migrated to the new server. We could move the big structures to the new world and still have room for new stuff. Plus, like I said earlier, FREE PRE-SPAWNED town are waiting there for the picking. Plus strongholds and dungeouns. But if your talking about the ships that transport you to different places in the world for a fee, wouldn't that be the same as teleporting?

If you read the above post, you would find out that multiworld will be installed and so therefore this server will be able to host both maps (i think it works that way. I read some info on it here: http://minecraft.ign.com/articles/news/7225/Bukkit-Update-Multi-World-Support)

Not currently, we don't even know what Mojang is bringing with the rest of the adventure update through 1.9

... thats what I said. If YOU had read all of my post you would have found that out... Alright I just read it back and yes, it does sound like I didn't know what I was talking about. :oops: What I meant was hosting the 1.8 and 1.7 in the SAME world. Or at least thats what I gathered from reading peraldon's post.

Both worlds are going to be updated to 1.8. The reason they want to make a new world is BECAUSE of the new biome(s) and gorges and things like that. The original server won't generate those things, therefore they want to make a new one.

Yeah, I know what you are talking about. But I understand how the whole multi world server works. Went to a server with 4 different worlds, besides the nether.

Hello, I have a question about 1.8. In 1.8 you can farm watermelons and pumpkins. I assume admins will hand out a few seeds of each, or what?

To be honest whatever happens to the server is going to affect everyone, i think no matter what happens we should just adapt to it, and understand how much presure must be on the GM's, im sure they will do everything that they CAN to keep us happy. :)
