Silverfish

 

Description:

Small, grey, wormlike creature that populate the tunnels of the world. Often seen as a pest, some groups have been able to tame these creatures for personal pets and other purposes. The silverfish have a natural hatred for over lit locations and are terrified of the open flame, though not so much lava. These creatures have a tough hide that protrudes multiple spikes from their back. There are some variants to the silverfish but their base form is the small kind. They roam in packs as they are able to protect themselves as a swarm then by themselves. They have been reports of swarms of silverfish being able to take down larger creatures like bears that wander too deep into the mountains. Their main source of food is other creatures of the depths, mushrooms, and eating the bodies of their slain, so omnivorous. It is often seen as the silverfish destroy netherwart farms as the warts are a delicacy for the creature. The silverfish roam is swarms as often create nests for themselves and their swarm for reproduction, these are often located next to a food source and hot stones. The silverfish however cannot survive long in the cold as their bodies will shut down until a heat source warms them up. This has been shown as they sometimes will hibernate through winter is they are travelling above ground. Their bredding is done by the alpha male and female. The swarm will find a nesting location and begin to crush the stone till its very fine, sand like, then the male will impregnate the female then she will lay eggs in the sand where the nearby heat source will keep the eggs warm and growing inside. The babies will hatch and begin to grow.

 

Variants:

Grey: The grey variant is the basic and normal. They have the protective hide and quills.

 

Purple: (Endermite mob) These silverfish are born from a different branch of the species. They are much smaller then the normal silverfish but are deadlier. Their skin holds true to the act that vibrant colors hold poison. Their bites are small but the venom they carry can paralyze another being. This unique line of silverfish is not very much populated as hunters and alchemist are crude in their ways of harvesting their poison. They lost their protective hides and their quills for their unique adaption for poisonous bites.

 

Large: Large version of this animal are very rare as they are more hostile towards others and even themselves. Often large silverfish roam in twos,  one male and one female, so that they can produce their offspring together and surround themselves in their own offspring swarm. Large silverfish come in both Grey and Purple types. Large silverfish are known to tunnel, even under walls, buildings, and even swim through lava as their hides have thicken since their growing.

 

 

OOC: I hope to add this as a underground creature for the server. There is a lack of them on the sever and a lack of underground environments as a whole. If there is anychanges let me know I left a lot open for interpretation. This creature could be added to the spawn mobs as well as events for farming netherwart as one silverfish (grey or purple) could spawn as your harvesting. As well as their drops of hide, quills, and poison for alchemy and future hunter profession. ET could event as large swarms bursting from the ground as the alpha male and female roam for a new nest.

I was going to say that this is unnecessary because silverfish are real, but then you pulled a 180 on me and **** went from zero to 100 real fuckin quick. I like this idea, could very well be the catalyst for some great events. +1

I lave it
