Do note that you guys might have been like "But we still wanted to fight." but I will tell you right now. You do not want a server to hard crash on you like how it was possible today. Everything on the server could have been wiped, and if it was really as bad as it was. The servers could have been permanently damaged. Its not a pretty scene, and even with some top tier equipment; A hard crash is basically death for a server as so many things are out of wack, you'd just end up with a bunch of hardware with the insane quest to implementing as much of the original software on it.

Doesn't excuse the fact the issue should've been fixed long ago and that we're all suffering because of it now

The fact that previously the server had been fine, albeit laggy in other warclaims? That is actually not a signal at all for a possible hard crash in the future. Server lag was caused by the software itself in previous warclaims if I remember. Since the application doesn't use all the resources available to it, but when its failing to save, or react. That's a boiling issue where the application is using too much resources, and its very likely it'll crack the server in the process. Today's servers are meant to take some beatings, but when it is actually failing to save data. That's beyond beatings and straight up torturing. There could have been permanent damage if it went on for too long.

Does that really justify the **** calls that came off it? Without a battle, we were declared losers, and despite their win, Courlandic rebels are homeless and will remain that way. The fact that PvP has always been an issue and has hit this low is telling of the situation and the staff's hand in it is all I am saying.

I never said this to justify anything of the call, I was educating based solely on the fact that if there was a hard crash of any sort. Everyone would feel the repercussions of that, and not just one side of a virtual war.

The point is the call that was made was largely unnecessary, and the real issue of the server not being able to handle the pvp of warclaims is age old now, but I reckon at this point we're just going in circles

The problems arose are simply that, the server has always had issues and the Administration have always assured us that they're to be upgrading, thus fixing the issues with lag and such. As well as the decision afterwards, regarding the outcome of the war. I don't think that the main issue is that the warclaim was canceled (sure some people are annoyed), or that we had to do it to make sure the server didn't crash and burn (we all enjoy the server), but about what I said before hand.

I just don't understand all the hate thrown towards the staff.

I was a part of the rebel side and yes there were signs to suggest we were winning. But even if we had fought it out, risking a hard server crash and it was not cancelled, would you honestly have been content knowing how the battle went down? Yes it sucks that we spent so much time on it and it all gets voided and concluded to be a draw. But what happended honestly seems to be the responsible choice from the staff and i see no reason why we can't just have a redo some time in the near future hopefully, were the rebel side most likely not only will "win" again, but everybody involved will also have some fun while doing it?

Just my take on the situation
