I go to join Metztli's grace” were the last words of the Varkolu, as his white eyes glazed over and he died. Those gathered would watch, having been called by their leader so that the next Varkolu could be chosen- yet not a single one had expected such. The Ancient Artifact, the stone of Metztli, would begin to shine brightly upon the death of the one who had held the artifact upon the world for so long. Wisps of light would shine, leaving the stone as it grew smaller and smaller in the eyes of the onlookers, who sat frightened as they saw the once Great Priest unmoving. Yet soon their expressions would change from one of shock to amazement, as a glow would begin to shine from the body of the Varkolu. Such would be followed by what appeared to be white crystals formulating upon him, coating him in layer upon layer of rapidly growing to encompass his body fully. The Burden is Lifted Another Kharajyr would step forward, a frown on his face. He looked to the stone as it would vanish fully, and begin to chant rapidly beneath his breath. The lights would return, seeming to gather together where the stone was, beginning to form it once more. At the end of the process, the Kha would appear fatigued and labored, now taking upon the strain of maintaining its’ existence. And Another Takes it Upon Himself All gathered moved forwards then, staring towards the encased Varkolu. His body was perfectly preserved at the moment of his death at the foot of the Stone of Metztli, a peaceful look visible on his face past the crystals. Tears were shed by some, and others merely watched with stoic expressions. The one who summoned the Moonstone would merely watch from the corner, as one by one the eyes of the onlookers would move onto him. “The Varkolu?” One would say “Yes.” Another. Many others soon sounded out in agreement, which turned into chanting “Ju’! Ju’! Ju’!” Zar is dead OOC: Yeah, I PK’d my Kharajyr Priest, Zar. Muawla leaned forward, sobbing heavily at the death of his father "P-P-Patta..." Muawla would shake him. "Daw not leave!" After a moment, he stood up, gaining back his dignity. The young halfling froze in shock as he fell backwards, desperately scrambling away in fright, tears beginning to dwell in his eyes as he began to rip at the blades of grass angrily, "S-sa'vi..." he murmured quietly, before grabbing the staff Zar once gave him, and getting to his feet. The young priest promptly turned and quietly made his way out of the room, his tiny form trembling with rage and sadness as he exited the treacherous room. Ketzawl slowly raises his hood to cover his face, the thin cloth failing to hide a spasm of pain that races across the old priest's face. Without a word, the Kha' raises his pale, moon-scarred eyes to the procedeings, the crys of Ju', Ju' and the Varkolu washing over him as he struggles with the weight of the Stone.
