prepare to be slain with the sword i've got a blacksmith to spend most of the time of his time grinding on a roleplay server without a chance of reaction regardless of your skills!

 

I think this won't have much impact, but i'll be straight

I like simple things, bring back simplicity. No more nexus crafting, no more nexus pvp, only minecraft crafting and minecraft pvp. I'm simply a simple man that likes simple, easy things.

Problem when it was everyone able to craft everything there was no interaction for professions or skills to work together. I personally like Vaq system more as that was what got people more involved onto the server. A deeper more expansive version of MCMMO but custom tailored for LOTC. We need a skills plugin but I would suggest instead of locking everything to players based on their profession ranks I would open it up to where everyone can craft any item but at a very poor quality. And the higher you level is in the profession you can make things better, use less materials, and or faster.

God yes. Why is grinding a part of an RP server? I understand the point of professions and division of labor, but the point of that division of labor is for RP. Why should a blacksmith be forced to sit grinding chainmail boots for days, rather than just being a blacksmith and making weapons for people?

I agree though I can only replace Nexus 1 piece at a time, the idea is by the end of 2016 we should be completely rid of Nexus, and we're almost there too.

I'm a newbie, but here's my few cents.

 

I am not annoyed by nexus crafting and skills, in fact I find the gathering part rather reasonable.

 

One thing however that I noticed is limitations instead of encouragement.

 

You could still encourage player interaction by providing "positive" stats through the system instead of "negative". Right now, I can't even get stone bricks for my keep renovation because there doesn't seem to be any stacked shop I can find (although I'm pretty sure I'm not searching enough).

 

How about you lift /all/ restrictions and convert abilities into full-on benefits instead? Let me list a few examples:

 

- Instead of being unable to craft armour, why not make it terribly long for non-trained blacksmiths? You could apply this to most item crafting, unskilled people could need twice, four times, sixteen times or hell even hundred times the seconds to craft.

- Instead of preventing unskilled players from combining items, why not make it (a) more expensive for them to craft (16 smoothstone for a stone brick?) or (b) better for experienced craftsmen (1 smoothstone for 4 bricks)?

- Instead of preventing people to harvest certain items in general, why not just make it more efficient for skilled people to harvest the items? Remove the extra damage to axe for dark logs and instead have it drop only for every fourth block destroyed.

 

That's what I think about crafting. Right now, as a player I feel like the system "punishes me for not having skill X". It'd be better if the system "encouraged me for having skill X."

Because im nosy and curious would it be possible to get an outline of 2016 from the staff/techs?
