The provincial ball and tourney will be held to herald the near completion of the Erochland restoration. The many notable figures of the province have worked ardently in order to prepare the land for new life and the rebirth of trade and militaristic works. Persons such as Alric var Ruthern, Benegar Gotthold, Petyr Barbanov, and Jerrik Marbrand have contributed to the restoration. The festivities being held are to congratulate these men, as well as the Empire itself, for all the dedication and hardwork that has been invested into the province of Erochland.

 

Fully funded and prepared by the many people of Erochland, The Grey Feast will be built up three main festivities. To begin the feast, a tourney shall be conducted. A joust shall be the first event held and is open for all men of either gentry or noble birth. Each titled lord of Oren will be allowed to select a champion of their opinion to represent their person within the joust, or participate in the lists themselves. The victor of said joust shall be dubbed Jousting Champion of Erochland and be given the liberty to crown any female within the gallery the Queen of Love and Beauty. Chargers, destriers and other mounts will not be provided to those who enter the lists, participants needing to bring their own horse. The winner of the joust shall obtain entry to the ball by the grace of the hosts and hostesses of the eventful day.

 

The second event held shall be a melee. The melee will be welcome to all, whether they be of low, bastard, or noble birth. A landed lord of Oren may select a man of their own to represent them within the melee if they choose not to participate themselves. Each participant will be equipped with a wooden sword and no armour will be allowed. It is in the best interest of each participant that they bring a shield. The winner of the melee tournament shall be dubbed the Champion of Erochland and be allowed to attend the ball if not already invited by the grace of the hosts and hostesses of the day.

 

The third event shall be an archery competition. Any man may enter the competition, yet all participants must bring their own bow and arrows. The victor of the contest shall be dubbed the Marksman of Erochland and be given entry to the ball.

The ball shall be held within the seat of House var Ruthern, the castle of Averheim. Festivities will be found about the cavernous halls of the hold, and drinks and food will be discovered about each corner. Being quite impregnable and defensive, the Gold Corpsmen shall work ardently in order to protect the Grey Feast from becoming the Red Feast. Any uninvited figure or person shall be removed from the castle immediately and face a punishment in accordance to their trespassing. It asked that the many lords and ladies that shall attend showcase their best attire and jewellery, using this vibrant event as an opportunity to display their wealth and beauty.

 

Each lord shall be allowed to bring two guests into the ball. The two guests can be either an armed guardsman or comely friend. If found at an attempt to bring three or more companions into the castle, those who exceed the limit shall be removed immediately.

 

The Imperial Family may bring as many guests as they wish.

 

If you are an aspiring bard or performer, please use this stark event to showcase your talent and skill. Contact either Maric var Ruthern, (Hummingbird_),Lopkaea Marbrand (MarinaEmily) or arrive at the ball with your lute and melodies upon your person.
