Spoiler

Born in Mid Athera a few years after his older brother Hakon, Sven was the second son of Eirik Ruric, another child destined for greatness, instead of being taught the arts of war by his father, he was taught the arts of writing and politics, Sven took an interest in poetry at a young age, and it soon evolved into tales and songs, at the young age of fourteen, his songs and tales were already renowned and spread across the lands of Norland, he continued studying the bardic arts amongst other things, and soon became a renowned infantry soldier amongst the ranks of the Seahelm Warband, he was proficient in heavy armor, martial weapons, and soon went on to become one of the best archers in Norland.

Shortly after moving to Nyrhold, his elder brother took on the mantle as Patriarch of House Ruric and Baron of Nyrhold, Hakon quickly fell ill, and this forced Sven into a position of power which he did not necessarily wan't, regardless, he led the people's of Norland and settled down, marrying a commoner named Astrid, they had one child, a son named Thomas who was later dubbed "The Rat". Under Sven's leadership Norland barely held itself together, and the people yearned for a stronger leader, he was inexperienced, though he would soon gain some, Beo, Sven's cousin who was tasked with holding old Norland for the Eirikson's had betrayed The Holy Orenian empire, and his own family, declaring himself and the lands of Old Norland which he did not even own independent from The Holy Orenian empire, Sven was outraged, and wrote to the Emperor, together they rallied a large force to repel the Edvardson rebels who were aided by both the Savage Orcs, and Stout Dwarves, no siege was needed, as the cocky rebellion force marched through the snow to attempt an ambush on unsuspecting Oreners, the Orenian force, with aid from their network of spies had known of the plot, and was prepared for it, the two armies clashed, and the battle was over in minutes, a clear Orenian victory, the lands of Avar were re-secured by House Ruric.

Years later, Sven with his ever-growing leadership skills decided it was time to move back to their original Vailorian homeland, Avar, a court case was started between the regent of Lorraine and Sven, Sven wished to leave Lorraine in order to move back to his homeland, and dissolve his allegiance to house D'Amaury, after a grueling 3 years in court, it was ruled that it was illegal for the D'Amaury's to vassalize house Ruric in the first place, and such could be considered treasonous as they we're already vassals of the Crown, overjoyed with the ruling, Sven returned home to Nyrhold, and hastily packed everything of value, then moved back to Avar, soon sprucing up Seahelm and Frostholm back into a working order, under Sven's leadership, Seahelm was completely re-built bigger and better than ever, and the Construction of Frostholm was finally finished, the Castle was extremely imposing, and intimidating. War broke out between the Empire and the Dreadlands, a group composed of both the infamous bandit group, the Flays and the Mercenary group, Dunamis, the Nortruppen, the reformed Ashguard were the main fighting force against the Dreadlands, and soon, the only one, the Holy Orenian Empire had taken to cowering during Raid's and Skirmishes, Sven was disgusted by these acts of cowardice, and rebelled from the Empire, siding with the Dreadlands.

The Orenian Empire fought multiple skirmishes with the Dreadlands, each one a decisive Dreadlandic victory, there skill and tactices were unmatched, but Oren's number's were far greater, they met for an all out skirmish, and while it was close, Oren Inevitably won and beat back the Dreadlander forces, the siege of Seahelm could barely be called a siege, and so it was called the sacking of Seahelm, the horde's of Oren rushed through the Seahelm walls, and slaughtered everyone, man, women and children, few survived the slaughter, and the remnants of Norland became refugee's, fleeing to the Dreadlands, broken, beaten, and saddened, Sven spiraled into a deep sadness himself, allowing his son Thomas to take over, he never recovered from his brooding however, and has not been seen much since the loss of Seahelm.

Hakon Ruric (Malgonious) - Knight of the Holy Imperium, dubbed Ser Hakon, "The Shipwright," Ruric by John Horen the First. Previous Patriarch of House Ruric, Count of the Bonefort and Baron of Nyrhold. Dubbed "The Mighty" by his family and kinsmen for slaying over one thousand foes of Norland with his mighty war bands and raiding parties.  First-born of Eirik Ruric. (Eirikson)

Spoiler

Born in Mid Athera, Hakon was destined for greatness, under the teachings of his father, Eirik "The Great" Ruric, Hakon soon mastered Battle strategy, politics, and the arts of martial, blunt and exotic weaponry as well as heavy armor and even mastered advanced Cavalry techniques, like horseback archery and jousting, he used these skills to repel Dunamite invaders from his homeland, and combat Urguanite forces during sieges and skirmishes, he formed the Ashguard in Mid Athera originally to combat Dunamite raiders during their infamous midnight raids on Nyrhold, he whipped the previous red brothers and members of the Seahelm Warband into shape, soon the Ashguard was considered a group of tough warriors that had proved their worth on the battlefield under the command of Hakon constantly.

During the battle of Hoar hill, Hakon was struck, through his leg with a spear, despite all the surgeon's of the land's greatest efforts, the wound festered and became infected, Hakon became so sickly that he was bedridden for nearly 7 years while he fought off the infection, he nearly perished multiple times, yet continued to fight, despite being very weak, his family was supportive, all but his father who looked down on Hakon for his weakness. After a few years his father died from natural causes in Felsen, this sent Hakon into a deep sadness much like his younger brother Sven. After Hakon's brooding and mourning had subsided, he felt determined and invigorated, his leg began to heal, and finally when he fully recovered he took his rightful place as Patriarch of house Ruric.

Hakon immediately reformed the Ashguard and disbanded the new "Red Brothers" same as his father had so fervently disbanded them in the past, soon after, he lead his people to Axios through some sort of Portal. After docking their boat on the Isle of Asul he led his people into another great era which is considered the greatest by the people of Norland by redoubling efforts of cultural reform, and military reforms, promoting generals, artists and writers to shine and share their works.

Osgod Colborn reads over the volume, nodding in approval as he examines the intricate biographies.

"My personal favorite of the Kings of Norland is Eirik "the Great" Ruric, he seemed like quite the character. I particularly like how he is considered the Patron of Greatness and Faith among the Norlandic people. As a great man, I can really identify with that." he comments to his friend Volero in the Haense camp.
