Smaw 2368 Share Posted September 24, 2016 Note: This piece is to serve as an addition to the Three of Smoke: It will be best utilised by the Ish'Urkal (Dark Shamans), and that is where this relic shall first be found. The Bastard of Smoke As the fires dimmed and the Three of Smoke cooled, a darkness fell upon the room, along with a deathly silence. As the forge settled to little more than crackling embers, a piercing wail reverberated from it, before an object was flung from the pit; as if the thing were coughing out disease. It wrung upon the ashen floor, black as the night sky, with a languid fog of grey swirling about within. An aura of ill-intent would linger about it, warding off those with reasonable caution. And as the shard continued to hum upon the floor, the area before it began to converge inward as a portal clung, as if a hand from the Spirit Realm were reaching out to hang onto the dimension of Mortals. It opened suddenly, and from it emerged a foul apparition. So dark was this creatures that there was little variation to its complexion, save for the pearl-white eyes that focused so intently on the object before it. The creature rolled a slow glance to Gijaak as it edged toward the item. Gijaak, the Orc who had created thee Three of Smoke, yet now lay unconscious on the floor. The beast mumbled something incomprehensible to Mortal ears, before clasping into the object and drawing it into the abyss from which it emerged. Creation Resource: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/146136-inferis-the-demons-among-men/#comment-1374460 When the Three of Smoke were being created, and all of the Spirit Realm were made aware of the new connection to the Mortal Realm, the Inferis, Demons Among Men, and all-enemy to the worlds, sought to interfere. And meddle they did, in such a way that fragments of the Three were broken from their original forms, molding together in an amalgamation of failure. From this came the Bastard of Smoke, the jagged crystal of darkness that served as little more to the naked eye than a representation of chaos, an un-ordered mess that wrought distress upon those that even dared set their sights to it. Several of these unholy entities made their way into the fragment, instilling it with their sinister powers. Utility For the Inferis are creatures of Spiritual cannibalism, their nature is best aligned with the Ish'Urkal. When dormant, this item allows a passive ability to be instilled upon the Ish'Urkal in question, allowing them to consume and utilise two extra Spirits than is normal for an Ish'Urkal. It also allows the active ability to call upon the Inferis to serve the wearer, utilising one Greater Inferis who may work in conjunction with them when required. If the item is suddenly torn from the wearer, the Ish'Urkal will be compelled to expel two Spirits at random, in order to prevent permanent death. Additionally, this quick process will shatter their mind once and for all, driving them utterly insane, subject to the will of Ikuras. Additional Information: Unlike the other relics, which have opposing Spirits waged in constant conflict, the Inferis' consumed all other Spirits within the Bastard, absorbing their power and merging into a horrendous apparition. If the Bastard of Smoke were to be shattered, the monstrosity contained within would be released upon the Mortal Realm. It would consume the Spirits within all surrounding Ish'Urkal, causing unforeseeable horrors.
