Sky 0 Share Posted November 14, 2016 What do you say about the claims in which the Ascended are even more niche than prior due to their lack of attempting to outreach to other playerbases rather than the ones nearby the headquarters?

I've not once heard such a claim, and outright I think it doesn't have a lot of basis. Guild diversity in general is a mix of racial population, location, and cultural influence. The Ascended live near the elves, so we attract a lot of elven recruits. The humans have the largest racial population on the server, so despite their hubs being further away we still have a decent number in the group. Orcs like to try and eat us, and those that don't usually get killed for being whitewash, so we don't have many orcs. By all means I'd love to see some more dwarves, dark elves, and even orcs in the group; but those playerbases are already somewhat confined and, of course, the Ascended are not the big name-brand that they used to be. In summary you could say we're working with that's available.

I'm doing fine, thanks for asking. I mean, maybe if I'm standing on a mountain or something. Not having to eat was a really comfortable luxury. Three. Heial, Verden (My druid), and Julien (A french knight). I love Heial and Verden equally for entirely different reasons. Don't have one, I will literally eat everything. Source I'm not convinced he isn't Jontron with a spray tan. Since 2011, I jumped in a little bit after the Undead showed up. Source I saw one AFKing by a pond. I poked him and then left. I enjoy Ascended magic a lot because their magic is rooted in the soul, and the soul is a very untapped piece of lore. In terms of culture their beliefs have a very lord of the rings vibe that resonates well, and I love robes. Usually I don't enjoy leading, or it's very draining for me. I was an Archdruid for a few months on my other character and when the day came to retire I was absolutely thrilled. For whatever reason I'm not getting that same feeling, and I think that's a result of experience and maturity. I do, actually. I keep a google doc with everyone's information in it and hound them if they're not providing. If there are no improvements, I seek disconnection as a final option. Honestly there are hits and misses. I previously had good discussions with Cameron in an old Skype group, and a lot of the leadership figures are really respectable behind the curtain. But then I also find myself being messaged rude statements or questions meant to incite conflict, or in some cases complete failure of rp for the sake of jumping on the Ascended hating bandwagon. I keep a folder of these interactions, and there's a handful in there. Ultimately I hope for things to improve in the future, but LoTC is renowned for drama. I removed three or so Ascended from the skype group for inactivity and disconnected one of my students. Out of respect for them I won't say any more. Beard genetics are weird. I'm the only male in my family that hasn't started balding and the only one for three generations that has been able to grow a decent beard. The programs I use are http://www.getpaint.net/index.html and, when dealing with gifs, http://www.online-image-editor.com/ 20. 25 minutes ago, Fury_Fire said: Hmu Why did you become an ascended, and when and where did you do it? I became an Ascended at the very end of Anthos, just before Setherien's Red Realm was opened. I was the first Ascended to be awoken after our powers had returned, and the ritual took place in a hidden underground keep. As for why, well, I honestly never intended it. I and Blundermore had worked together a few times previously, but I never had a desire to be an Ascended and given that I was a floating ball I doubted it would even happen. When I was given the option to join I found that we all had a similar mindset and the people running things were very friendly.
Slic3man 484 Share Posted November 14, 2016 At what point will the Ascended realize their leader betrayed Aerial's wishes by being a soul in an enderpearl instead of in its natural cycle? When will mech technology spread to the Orcs so they can proceed to become Big Bosses from Warhammer?

The Ascended target creatures bearing a corrupted, tainted, or otherwise significantly altered soul. The soulbound ender pearl was strange, of course, but the soul itself was not altered in it's function whatsoever; it was merely trapped. As an example, Cameron's 'Shadows of Men' lore can have a soul split into different sections, but these sections are not harmed by our magic. Why? Because the souls themselves have not been altered significantly, they're merely displaced from each other. That is the short version, the longer one is being worked into the rewrite to better ascertain exactly what our powers do. Hopefully soon.

Though the idea of Ascended turning into ash was presented for the rewrite, and it does fit with with our theme of holy fire. As for whether or not we'll change to this it's not been decided yet. We only have one completely new ability planned as of right now, though that may change.
