Envy the warmth we are without.

Once more, the leathery missives are pinned up in places which society has not yet taken claim to; cast astry to lie upon the roads, nailed to the walls of crumbling ruins, and even cripplingly tied to the legs of beasts. The same man has come to spread his message once again; the old, sullen fellow with the tall red hood.

"Men were made to be complete.

So who are we, to call ourselves "Men"?  In the throes of our time, we undead have been known as antagonists, savages, madmen and beasts; lesser than those with the warmth that gives their minds clarity and humanity. Indeed, we are but shadows of Men - but while Men are born with the right of wholeness in life, we rise once again with the initiative to earn back the wholeness which we once know. And doubtlessly are we un-whole; we suffer the trials of the Rot, the Dark and the Hunger, the trifecta that chains us down and plagues us with the darkness that inhabits the minds of mortals. Our Flame of Life is dwindled and suffocated by this temporal presence, this crack in the being that causes the warmth we undead once had to leak out from us and deny us the right to exist in peace. This is why we are beasts; by losing what makes Men as they are - wholeness - we are inclined to descend into madness which the living are capable of resisting. It is a beautiful return to the naked savagery which all mortals knew before they made rise to their walls, and a terrible tragedy as we are forced to carry habits unbelonging to this age.

Our path to wholeness is one forged by pain, and blood, and loss. It is not we who lose; it is others who must make the sacrifice for our return to life. We have endured enough to walk this earth with the curses we carry, embodying the flawed aspects of the mortal psyche. No more, I say; no more shall the dead walk in the dark as wolves do, no more shall the forlorn be rejected as savages beyond the walls, no more shall we know the chill of the Rot, the blindness of the Dark and the insatiation of the Hunger. It will all end within this very day, and it will end in blood.

I had cast out one scrawl before, suggesting to those of my ken to break what chains that bind them. That was the first step to regaining our great living fire, our wholeness; now is the time for the second. Draw your attentions away from the masters you broke, and converge upon the living. Their flesh is ample, it breathes a warmth we no longer have and acts as the binding agent to the concoction that will return the life given to us by birthright. Kill Men, kill women, kill children; kill the soldiers, the lords, the ladies, the kings; kill the mages, the scholars, the academics. Kill them all, rip from them their flesh and blood, and keep it safe. Satiate your long-suffered barbarism for now, in this time of rise, for it will not remain for long. It will be forgotten, once we return the Flame to us all and return to those who must die for our cause. So bright will we burn that the Gods will shield themselves from the brilliance, that the Abyss will be cleared of its shadow, and that the world will become one again - whole, once we bring Fire for Somnithel, and burn all the rot and sickness away.

Fire for Somnithel.

Fire for Somnithel."
