Orcish Servantry ~ Adjust to Persist

A Banner is put in the hot sands. The goblin panting after its long journey from San'Zagh, the new shamanic bulwark, to Azaghol. With two nails the following parchment is put on the sandstone wall near the gatehouse. The long sheet ending with an ashen mark; shaped like an encircled anvil. The parchment would read:

To my brothers and sisters, sons and daughters of Krug,

"  We live in dark times. Facing oppression and a foe larger than Orgon has shown to be. For we face an enemy that will not stop hunting us and thus I see that we need to resort to un-orthodox means. At the cost of a hand I, Shagarath, have learned this lesson. And that lesson is that the abolishment of Slavery entirely will bring forward a better image to the uruk kin and thus grant us sons and daughters of Krug prosperity on the short term. I do know, however, that many will oppose this mere thought. And thus I bring forward a new system that I, Shagarath'Yar the Slavelord of The WarUzg back in Vailor, shall name the Orcish Servantry. To greatness and prosperity of the Orcish Race! "

Afâr'Ilzgûl, Lûp'Ilzgûl

Shagarath of Yar, High shaman of the Angathgûl

Founder of Mokh'Ilzgul, Founder of San'Zagh, Dominus under Kharak'Raguk, Speaker of the Dead, Witchdoctor of Misery, Uniter of  the Children of the Forest, Servant of Xaakt, Gentharuz, Kharak, Phaedrus and Etos, Guardian of the Unison of Aspects and Spirits.

Attached is a note further elaborating on the Orcish Servantry:

Servants of Uruk Kin

The name Slave is henceforth replaced with the term Servant, in order to rid one of the image linked to that of the old ways. No longer shall we thrive to force one into work and service, in a life of captivity. No longer shall one enslave upon raiding foe's lands. The ones brought back are considered to be captives, and nothing more. They are either held hostage for ransom or sacrificed to the spirits. The act of Servantry and maintaining it, is an individual virtue. No rank is and will be installed such as the Slave Lord.

Concerning the rights of a Servant:

- The system is put in place for those that are not of Krugs blood, but wish to follow his ways among his kin,

- A servant is appointed an overseer,

- A servant will receive a new name given by their overseer, it will mark their 'rebirth' as member of the orcish society and may pick their own upon achieving the status of honourary,

- A fellow orc may rightfully honor duel an overseer for the right to govern over his or her servant,

- A servant is one that voluntarily offers his or her service to uruk kin in order to integrate in orcish society,

- A servant thrives to achieve the status of honourary,

- A servant is allowed to leave at any time given without being hunted down,

- They are not property though the act of leaving will result in further punishment for their dishonourable deed of leaving their brothers and sisters behind, if they dare to return,

- Servants are obligated to praise the spirits and reject all foreign beliefs,

- Servants are to be marked to be recognized. The mark itself being a token of honour,

- Henceforth the praising of the Spirit Levaz is considered a taboo and discouraged.

How does one become a Servant?

Emphasis is put on the fact that Servantry, like Slavery in Vailor, worked with a mutual OOC agreement. Without double sided consent one will not be forced into Servantry.

Encouraged is to, most logically, contact orcs in character. Be sure to make your intentions and interests clear, from which roleplay should commence in the following order (this is a note for all orcs to take into account)

Interview/Talk, making the above rulings clear --> Marking of the Servant --> Service

Emphasis is put on integration in orcish society.

Adam smiles as his eyes scan over the script. Leaning back in his seat in a grand manor, thinking back of the times how he climbed the ladder of honor within the orcish ranks. He'd consider taking a return before filling his cup with tea again.

Gukdan would read over the note, rubbing his chin.

"Wel, bettur den bein' hunted by Oren... Pluz, mi nuber kared fur zlavery aneyway."

"Indeed, it is the domain of Ogrol; something that should rarely be tampered with." Commented Gijaak upon reading the parchment, adding with a sigh "We would not want to make him stronger..."

*A large Orc would shake his head. "We are letting the fear of oren shape our culture, we are abandoning the ways of our ancestors."
