some Feedback

So...

I havent been a part of this server for very long but id like to give some feedback on how to not lrt this server die....

 

NEW PLAYERS

 

So ive heard talk of stuff actually being done with this but ive never actually seen anything.

When i first started playing i was so lost..... I might have been a particulary stupid guy but getting in to this server was so hard for me. We need two things...

 

CT RP Hubs

This could be like a tavern or something just outside the CT cave. It would be so that new people can actually find someone to interact with and to guide them.

 

Contact on the forum. 

The forum is very likely to be the first thing any new players sees of lord of the craft and it needs to contain some guides n stuff. I know there are settlement guides and etc but we would need some more really basic "go here and talk to ###" etc. These should also be really easy to find.

 

It would also be cool if the AT could like recommen people n etc when theyve accepted app.

" Your app has been accepted.....blahblahblah...find ur way to sutica n speak to ###"

 

 

 

 

 

YOUTUBE

Is an active Youtube channel too much to ask for?

A video every 2 weeks? Manageable?

Honestly most of our target group is on youtube, let them find us.

 

WARS

A biiig group of players play lotc mostly for the wars, but they sure do some rp too. In order to keep these pwe need war. What we dont need is admins stopping wars :)))))))))))

(although causus belli is important)

 

I hope i havent made any one upset with these not so fresh ideas...

This more or less happened last map and the only issue was that wanted people, dark creatures, nation leaders who had lost a war, etc.. would just hang out there where nobody could touch them and the rp became very toxic.

Cool, havent been much on the last map so fidnt really think abput that fact. But there is got to be someway that new people can find rp instantly without haveing to go anywhere....a monk temple thingy?

We have had a brief discussion within the AT chat about a past idea was given to nation leaders. The idea was called a nation leadership list. This list contains leaders within a nation that the player could contact. For example, if the player wanted to be a part of a human army they could go to a military leader in Oren to be implemented OR if a player was an elf looking for a home they could contact the steward of an elven town who is in charge of housing. I'm gonna see if I can dig up the list and if not remake it!

Sounds amazing! Oh amd perhaps skype names too? I understand that people might not wanna gladh their names all over the forums but that would make it even easier for those newbs.

I did this during my AT stint. It helped both the new player and the smaller groups. Funneled numerous Dark Elves and Orcs that were otherwise lost to active players that had an place for them to live and work at, which creates retention.

I remember this being brought up at the start of the map when there was a lot of walking involved in getting to roleplay. It does seem like a rather good idea in theory, and I myself do like some tavern roleplay [redrose]. However we had an issue with this in Vailor (the last map); players were seen just hanging around the cloud temple, and since there is a violence protection around the cloud temple - people could say whatever they would like without RP consequences. Secondly there was a large amount of Out of Character being used in the cloud temple which isn't most welcoming to new players which would come into spawn. There's a few issues with the idea - however I'd still like to see it happen.

Most of the things in Oren like housing and joining the army are posted all over the gates, with people to contact and mc names. But the directions to the city are pretty ****. 50/50 chance of getting lost.
