Lego XBOX 915 Share Posted January 1, 2017 http://68.media.tumblr.com/c221e8027583a64edd8348bc4c297e4b/tumblr_o7mvfq8jUX1qibhi9o1_540.gif Application Team Log = December = New Application Moderators You may or may not have seen that the application team application forums was scrubbed after a few picks were made, and the addition of a new subforum ‘Shortlisted’. Before naming the newest additions to the team, a quick explanation on the new subforum. Here - managers and myself will be placing applicants which we find to be a good addition to the team (yet being unable to add them to keep the team at a necessary size). Anywho, the newest members of the team was a mix of veterans and new blood as recommended by team management and then chosen by myself taking information provided into account. I shall expand on the selection process in subsequent months as I develop it. Fireheart was certainly a no-brainer veteran to return to the team, once leader of the Application Team, this one was welcomed back quite promptly. HedgeHug is another veteran who left on their own accord back in the day, and returns with some interesting ideas and projects they may be working on in the future. Jlyoko is some new blood to the staff in general and to the team. Recommended by management and with no apparent issues working against them. Vaynth is another new blood member brought into staff, coming highly recommended by management and general feedback. New Player Data The pie chart below (figure a1) gives an indication of the most popular races for new players when they first join the server. In the month of December, Human applicants dominated with over 50% of players accepted to the server being part of this group. No new Kharajyr joined the server, and the races which aren’t elves or humans only made up 20 new players - making up less than 20% of new players. We also introduced the recording of applicant subraces (when stated), which allowed us to see the distribution of subraces within races. Humans tend to be accepted without a subrace, heartlanders making up the larger portion of those with a subrace. Orcs also tend to apply without subrace, but there were a couple goblins. Wood elves seem to be the most popular of elf applicants, and subraces all together are chosen far more commonly than a plain elf. Finally, dwarves also joined the server most commonly without a subrace. Figure a1. Accepted applicant distribution by race (n=116). Figure a2. Accepted applicant distribution by subrace (n=111). In the spoiler below, you will find a list of the new players accepted to the server, be sure to help these people out if you have time! Table 1. Accepted applicant name and race. Those accepted were equally distributed between direct and after pending. Less people were denied after being placed on pending than straight off the bat, which demonstrates the well functioning system which is ‘Pending’. Figure b. Distribution of application results (n=193). A new statistic this month is the distribution of timezones for new players (when properly included). It is no surprise that the majority comes from the American time zones, however there was a rather large portion of europeans. As expected, there were very few oceania based players. Figure c. Distribution of accepted player timezones (n=114). Team Data Because of new additions bringing the team to 10 members, the quota was lowered to 6% (allowing 60% of total application to be covered by quota). Despite this, Jandy and Parion went beyond expectations covering 60% of applications together. This put a strain on meeting quota for some (as these two blast through apps like wildfire). Figure d. Percentage of applications completed by application team members. Total applications, n = 193. Quota noted by red hashed line (6%). The new additions were brought onto the team half way through the month and were not expected to meet quota. Pumpkin was quite busy with the festive season and has been warned on their activity - as has Goldensaint2. Grimmothy was close enough to the quota considering the fervour with which some members completed applications. Team Projects Gus has left the position of manager and due to the size of the team will not be replaced. This month, Luv and Coolio cooperated in training the new additions to the team. These two also took on 5 members each with which as is their position that they had to keep in touch with. Leslie has been working on a variety of projects which overlap with the Application Team. Unfortunately, most projects seem to run quite slowly. Player Retention data compilation has been ‘outsourced’ to a third party which will be conducting the sorts of statistical analysis such as the one I did last month. Hopefully, this data analysis will be released by next month. Contact Yung for more information. Finally, by no choice of my own - the Application Team is turning pink instead of the beautiful green which was ours beforehand.
Bvie 1754 Share Posted January 1, 2017 Glad to see a lot of the chart ideas I had used in my own post (Racial Divisions, Time Zones, etc) are being put to good use. The more information the better. Good work.

Ducklingator 795 Share Posted January 1, 2017 Shouldn't halflings count as humans? It's like half-elf is under the arch-race of elf.

They have their own culture and are not a sub culture, mechanically and RPly they are not humans.
Cat Evocation 3728 Share Posted January 1, 2017 Why is it that it seems only two of your members actually do the work their given (leaving the new ones out of this) while the others seem to be rarely seen in the action and couldn't had made the quota? Is this something the AT plans to work on fixing for next month together as an improved goal or is Quota not the big concern as of now. And sure you got new players so your Managers needed to train them but that was twords the end of the month, could you explain to us on how those projects are doing I'm quite interested. Sorry if it comes off anyway harsh I just wish to know as a player that the team that manages the people coming into the server is doing well. @Lego XBOX

That green was indeed beautiful... ? Anyhow to be serious, the statistics are beautiful, very well done, and quite insightful, I find. I am interested to hear about these projects, they sound very enigmatic as of now. This might just be me, but with the charts it's a bit hard to tell the legends apart between the reds unless I zoom in to give it a good look. That would be with the Orc subrace chart and the Pending-Denied vs Denied in the application results chart. It's not a big deal though, not meaning to sound nit picky, could just be me being incompetent. 7 hours ago, Lego XBOX said: Figure a2. Accepted applicant distribution by subrace (n=111). Figure b.
