City of Krakow

The newly constructed City of Krakow is the heart of Pasnia, led by Magnate Casimir II of House Staszak. The City hosts the magnificent Church of Krakow, and the Magnate’s most formidable castle. It is the center of trade and civilization in Pasnia, welcoming all visitors to its streets and markets. The merry Inn offers shelter and food for adventurers and travelers of Eastern Tahn, and the houses offer residence for the people of Pasnia. The Magnate of Krakow takes pride in patronizing art and culture, and invites many artists, writers, poets, musicians, sculptors, tailors and craftsmen to reside in his city, for Krakow is a center of art and culture in the continent of Tahn, renowned for its tolerance to all artists and their works. On several occasions the Head Steward arranges fairs, festivals and tournaments for all people to partake in its activities, ranging from horse races, archery games, arena duels and jousting to different art and writing contests.

 

The Council

The Council whose members are appointed by the Magnate (Governor) are tasked with the supervision and management of their respective branch.

 

Advisor

The Advisor is tasked with personal advice and counsel to the Magnate, regarding any forum and branch, aiming for utmost efficiency and prosperity. In the Magnate’s absence, he serves as his regent.

 

Current Advisor: Szlachcic Karol Staszak (Jewslavski)

 

Hetman

The Marshal is tasked with the management and organization of Krakow’s levy force, and in the field taking the role of a commander.

 

Current Hetman: Lord Patrek Roswell (ACU20)

 

Head Steward

The Head Steward is dedicated for the management and supervision of internal affairs which are; Finance, Housing, Commerce, Production, Labour and overall ledger work.

 

Current Steward: Vacant.

 

Szlachta(Nobility):

 

The Szlachta were the legally privileged noble class in the Kingdom of Pasnia. The name Szlachta has origins from the Pagan society and was used to describe the class of the families of warlords and chieftains in Pasnia. After the Kingdom of Pasnia was founded, the name Szlachta became the word to describe the newly feudal noble families that were established. Today with the founding of the City of Krakow the old traditions continues.

 

Nobility Titles:

 

Magnate: Head of a Clan/City.

 

Szlachcic: Standard aristocrats with no land.

 

Hussar: Professional soldiers in the Pasnian Army who were granted the status of a noble.

 

Laws of Krakow:

Every vistor and resident are to comply with the following laws:

 

  • Do not steal or damage private and state property.

  • Starting a fight within the City is forbidden, any honor duels must be performed outside the City walls.

  • Weapons are to be sheathed in public.

  • Members of the Szlachta and the Army are to be treated with respect, insulting them may result in consequences.

  • Taxes are to be collected every Sunday. Failing to pay taxes may result in the evacuation of your house/store.

 

Settling in the City:

In order to settle in the City contact the Magnate of Krakow or the Steward and they may provide you with residence/store. Below are the weekly tax prices:

 

Store - 30 minas/per week

 

House - 50 minas/per week

 

*Taxes are collected every Sunday and are to be paid in the City Hall.

* Members of the Clergy and Szlachta are exempt from paying taxes.
