Mission Statement - Ser James Montoya

IMG_3182.PNG

I have started a campaign to run for the Maer of Aleksandria. I am sure you have seen all my campaign made by the talented artists of OUR great city, Aleksandria. This is a great example of localized work done by men in our great city. My opponent has recently released a full mission statement and now I have released mine too. My opponent is SAD.  He uses ALTERNATE FACTS, all the news and campaign information I use is correct and proved. Unlike my main opponent claims. WRONG.

1 - The Implementation of a Price Floor.

The current economy is BROKEN, there is no price floor. Companies are currently beating eachother in prices and going lower and lower. While in the short term this may seem good to the consumer this is in fact incorrect.  If the companies continue to drive eachother to new prices then the economy will crash and there will not be enough money in circulation. This is our current problem and I will and can fix this. The city of Felsen and most cities have had this system, so why can't a city as GREAT as Aleksandria have one too?

2 - Creating more jobs outside army and corporate business.

Too many jobs are being created in un-needed fields of work and I wish to fix that. Women can not work in the fields or the army, what are they to do while their husbands work in those tough jobs? They can be the breeders, the writers, the sellers, the backbone of our society. We need more, different jobs. Diversity in the type of jobs is good for a GREAT economy.

3 - Stopping the purchase of so called Holiday Homes or houses worth over a certain amount.

I will also stop the purchasing of so called 'Holiday Homes' from people in different nations who take up a house that good, Courlandic people could live in and leave it empty for the majority of the year. This is a very awful practice which takes a lot of the good homes and the good homes would be offered to Courlanders before foreigners.

4 - Bringing more people to Courland.

You can never have too many people, I will start an initiative to bring other humans(noobs) to our land creating a hotel for newer members before they get settled in. it will also create job opportunities for the newer members of the community as they can work in the hotel.  More people = more money = good city and economy.

5 - Legalize recreational drugs including but not limited to: Alchemist's Quartz, Opium Powder and Cactus Green.

The only way to stop a drug epidemic is to allow recreational drugs in smaller amounts. The drugs sold in pharmacies would have to be cleared through the proper authorities and strong drugs wont be sold. This also creates MORE job opportunities, quality checking the drugs and working in the pharmacies which would be funded by the state.

6 -A Reformed Guard.

After having many discussions with the Marshal of Courland, a good friend of mine. We have decided if I am elected we will form a full pledged city guard. This guard would be a division of the army and would have commanders and ranks. We have decided it is necessary with the current rising tensions and potential raids.

7 - Feedback from the citizens

Every year we will create a poll on how we are doing and we will gain feedback from the citizens on what they would like to see changed. This would allow us to consistently improve and not just improve nearing elections, but all the time.

On my opponents' arguments:

I) On the quality of roads: The roads are dirt on purpose, it is for a good look around the city. During the design of the city we tested the use of stone brick roads and it looks very ugly.

II) I agree with this argument.

III) I agree with this argument and it would be implemented if I win.

IV) I dislike the implementation of welfare. If you are old enough to work then you should. While I will build orphanages for the children who are not old enough to work able people need to be able to work and provide to society and not just leach off a tax welfare system. In the words of a great man long ago "He didn't complain, he got on his bike and looked for work and kept looking until he found it." We have plenty of jobs and plenty more on the way.

V) I refer to this argument in my opening speech.

Refer to my campaign here:

Made by our GREAT city's talented workforce.

Horace Thassarion reads this propaganda, shaking his head in disappointment.

"It truly saddens me to see that this man undermines democracy. He relies upon accusations and lies to generate votes. The fact that he has listed MY reforms shows that my policies are excellent. I could not imagine this man with so much responsibility, bullying his political opposition to achieve what his heart desires. Disgraceful..."

Folds the paper in half before throwing it into the fire. He watches as the paper is consumed by the flames.

"Ye ye, whatever, this bloke is obviously the real deal. You're just a phoney." Remarks a peasant to Horace, "My vote is going to James." He continues, to no one in particular.

Queen Lisette Staunton would make her way down to the voting booth, her children in tow along with half of the court. In a public display of support for this democratic election, she would cast her own ballot. After some time, she would turn to the crowd gathered with a smile, "Good citizens! Today marks the beginning of the future for our city, the Maer you choose will be your voice in the Royal Court. I have thus decided, using my own judgement and of my own accord, I will be casting my vote for Ser James Montoya."
