Vege 4804 Share Posted April 8, 2017 As the daylight broke through the chill and silence of the morning, whisping its way over the stone walls of Aleksandria to play against the thatched roofs, did the gate to her interior creak itself upwards. No sooner had the creaking began, was it drowned out by the countless hoofbeats of a great mass of riders, the green of their tabards, cloaks, and banners displayed proudly against the dreariness of the morning. With the coming of the sudden noise, the few peasants housed near to the gate could be seen rubbing the sleep from their eyes and shouts could be heard as children came rushing out of their homes to see the cause of such a commotion. The riders, caring not for the spectacle they were, stopped within the market beyond the gate. The men on the flanks pulling the polished and gleaming metal of not swords, but horns from beneath the protection of their travel attire and lifting them to the heavens. With this, the rider before the mass of green raised his voice in a shout that none need strain to hear from across the city. “King Tobias Staunton returns!” And so, the horns marked the occasion with piercing and brilliant sound, as the men within the inner walls of the group moved their mounts to the sides to allow for their Lords passage. Coming out of the mass, was the familiar visage of King Tobias Staunton. His body clad in brilliantly dyed cloth of springtime green, marked with the ornate and beautiful cloth of gold sigil of his house emblazoned boldly on the front. Taking his equally impressively attired mount forth, he led his party down the road, all the while looking forward to his palace. Proceeding behind him were the now cheers, horns, laughter, and praises of both common men, and nobility. Gone was the dreariness that the morning had been. The King had come.
