The Declaration of Tal'Azmar

Fimlin puts his head on his hand which in turn is resting on the table at his elbow.

He talked with length about the happenings in the council room with his clanmate Grilthram, who was able to leave the room before the fight..

"Am ah supposed ter believe dat t'is is 'appen'n?"

The discussion went on for a very long time, there was little to disagree on but much to discuss with what remained of the Grandaxe Elders.

Fimlin continued to his dust laden dark-oak desk and looked over the old books and sketches he had saved from his younger years, it was rather odd that he had been more of a historian and writer as a younger dwarf than a far more aged one. He sat at the desk and brushed off the dust from his immediate area and began on a piece of parchment.

"The World has changed, there is never any doubt about that. All the old orders, holy orders, guilds, institutions that motivated and drove the world to action. No more. It has been a long time since something has gone back, back to when there was order in the world and not the anarchy based off of friendliness that everyone deals with now. Our Kingdom, Grand Kingdom for that matter had forged its institutions from the slack that had dominated the rise of the Articles of Urguan, The Legion, The Engineer's Guild, The Remembrancers, All the flourishing guilds the dwarven populace was able to forge. It was a hard and long struggle, even since the fall of Thorin's Empire and the abandoning of Kal'Azgoth the root of the dwarven struggle to maintain its order started there. But it stayed, the Legion, outnumbered as it was became the hallmark of dwarven military success through greatly opposing odds. But eventually the Legion fell from its glory, the end of The Fringe marked the end of an era, but few would notice it until the Kingdom fell against Undead. Since the dwarven struggle to maintain, to flourish with its accustomed order has been long and hard fought, with only now it finally collapsing entirely.

There is not a single dwed that doesn't desire change, regardless of his methods. I know I had put my support in for a new version of the Grand Kingdom, one that had less to do with confinement to the capital and a unilateral base to let the kingdom prosper without using the same methods as before. It seems as though, the Clan Frostbeard has little intention to do the same, with nearby intentions they decided that their only complication was that they had to be the ones leading it. It wouldn't be worth much to say that the Grandaxes do not care for power and dominance of the dwarven race, but it is true, anything otherwise is a symbol of a bygone era that became the learning of the clan for the better.

I thought that I was wrong to think with such conspiracy in mind like the other dwarves who have helped convince the Frostbeards that this is what they must do. At last if the swearing fealty to a human lord was not enough to show how blindsided I have been to think the better of them then surely I know now.

For now on, and hopefully not for long The Grandaxes will not be underneath those who seize power by force, as once done in Kal'Bogrin against the corrupt Lord's Council, the Grandaxes will not stand for forcefully imposed change and neither will those who decide to take up the banner of Kal'Bogrin once again.

The Grandaxes and their assets formally secede from the Frostbeard-owned Mountain Monarchy.

Harvak shakes his head in disbelief at the events that have transpired as he stands atop the walls of Tal'Azmar. His eyes scan the horizons for his clanmates and fellow Dwed. He mutters to those also standing guard.

"T' think weh fought by t'eir soides at Vsevograd... and then t'ey onleh look fer their own power. Treacherous bastards, one an' all o' t'em."
